Sal Pal sits down with Bart Scott, talks can’t wait signature and the maturation of Mark Sanchez now going into his 3rd years as the man at the helm. This is a big year for Sanchez as he’ll be looked upon to hand more pressure. He’ll be looked upon to really handle the duties of a top QB in the NFL. The Jets have the defense, they have the ownership and the management. Sanchez seems to be the last piece of the puzzle. This year will really tell a lot of who the Jets really have behind center.
“It’s time for him to take that next step [in that] maturation period to step up into the upper echelon of quarterbacks in this league,” Scott said. “Mark was thrown in the fire, and expectations was high immediately. He’s had his ups. He’s had his downs. But he stayed positive through it. He’s one of the hardest workers, not just quarterbacks, but hardest-working people I’ve seen.
“It’s time for him to take the next step and really take control of this team and not so much have to hold onto the steering wheel, but actually drive the car.”
