Via facebook Kris Jenkins announced his retirement from football. The big DT turned 3-4 nose tackle will be deeply missed from the Jets. Kris Jenkins has been blanketed but lower extremity body injuries during his career and they got worse during the latter portion of his career. Jenkins tipped the scales at and around 360 to 400lbs annually. The weight combined with the rigors of the NFL deemed to much for his ankles and knees. Jenkins has a family, he has kids and he has mentioned in the past he would like to have a great quality of life as he gets older to play with his kids. We here at NYJETSFAN.COM and Jets fans abroad salute you Big jinx. New York loved him and he will be missed. No one did it better then Kris Jenkins.
Wanted to let you all know that I have loved the support and respect that you all have given me throughout my career. But it is time for the torch to be passed to the younger players. I am going to hang up the cleats! The mind is always willing to play but my body deserves the rest. Thank you for the opportunites to play Carolina and New York.
