In a twisted turn of events the Jets have officially released Jericho Cotchery. The Jets fan fav will be sorely missed. Jericho was a pros pro and was beloved not only by fans but teammates, coaches and other players around the league. It’s frustrating that the Jets and Cotchery couldn’t make a deal after the Jets came forward and asked him to take a pay cut. That was the straw that broke the camels back. Cotchery a true pro invited Braylon and Holmes aboard with open arms. Helped them with the offense and getting them accustom to the Jet way. However, Cotchery wasn’t willing to part with the money he was deserved and balked at the idea. Leaving Mike. T no choice other then to trade or release him and clearing 4million off the slate.
He will be missed and we here at NYJETSFAN.COM wish him nothing but the best and a healthy career. It’s been a pleasure watching him and having Jericho on the Jets over the years. Losing him is a tough one to swallow for a lot of us.
The worst moment of the day was when we walked out to practice and were handed a roster that, for the first time in seven years, did not contain Jerricho Cotchery’s name. The team announced that he has been released.
