Big loss to the Jets after a big win. Jimmy done for the second straight year with a leg injury. Jimmy is the best safety the Jets have on the roster. Brodney Pool and Eric Smith with likely take over at FS and SS. However Jets do have Tracy Wilson on the roster but with his brief time with the Jets I doubt he’ll make push at legitimately starting. Eric Smith, who just last week lost his job to Brodney Pool will now reclaim a saftey position due to Leonhard’s injury.Donald Strickland might also see some time.

Jimmy was not only the Jets best saftey but he is a leader in the defensive secondary. Brought over from the Ravens by way of Rex Ryan, Bart Scott and Jim Leonhard were “on field” coaches when Rex Ryan was installing his defense. Jimmy is responsible for getting people lined up, more importantly the DB’s. The Jets struggled mightily last year without Leonhard and with a real lack of solid depth and athleticism at the position is going to show up on gameday.

As far as Jimmy returning? you bet he’s going  return…  stronger and more focused then ever.
