During an interview with ESPN Radio’s Micheal Kay on Monday, Ryan emphasized his job security despite any shortcomings that may arise this season.

“I know I’m a great coach. What makes me a great coach is the guys that coach with me and the players that play for me, and everything else this organization has for me. It’s hard for me to look at myself not being successful. I don’t even see GETTING FIRED as a possibility,” Ryan said.

Where does Ryan’s extreme self-confidence come from? Yes he has been to multiple AFC Championships, but his record on paper shines a little brighter than on film. Do we honestly believe if the team falls short of a playoff run this year Jets owner Woody Johnson will continue the Rex Ryan experiment?

While we all wait for this to unfold during the season, check out this poker site. They offer every variation of the game you could want, I’m a huge fan of Texas Hold’em, and they have some really great top prizes.

Ryan continues saying, “It might be 10 years from now, or 15 years from now, when Woody Johnson wants to go in a different direction. That’s fine. But I’m going to tell you one thing: I have complete confidence in myself. I’ll leave it to the experts to say my job is on the line. I know one thing: I’m going to give everything I have to this organization…. We’ll add it up at the end of the season,” Ryan added.

We all might be sharing a laugh with Ryan at the end of this season when we replay this interview for him while sitting on his couch at home.
