Darrelle Revis was just cleared cleared for contact and will be ready to play this sunday at SunLife Stadium in Miami. Revis was expected to practice fully Thursday after passing all required tests. He needed to be cleared by the team physician and an independent neurologist to participate in contact drills.
This is great news for the Jets but horrible news for the Miami Dolphins. Ryan Tannehill’s job of throwing completions to Brian Hartline and Davone Bess just got a lot more difficult.
Rex Ryan was asked how it feels to have Revis cleared for Sunday against the Dolphins, “I think you feel good when you have the best player on the field,” Ryan said. “That can’t hurt you. … There’s only one Darrelle Revis. I know I feel great about it. It’s hard not to smile. You feel great as a playcaller.”
In other news, Tight end Dustin Keller who is suffering from a right hamstring injury and safety Eric Smith dealing with hip and knee pains were both upgraded Thursday to limited play after not practicing Wednesday.
