New York Jets tight end Dustin Keller has been missing from the Jets starting lineup since the very first offensive play on the very first game of the season.

To say he has been missed is an understatement, especially now with Darrelle Revis out for the remainder of the season. Everyone at Jets camp knows, Dustin Keller couldn’t come back at a better time.

Many say Keller has been Sanchez’s security blanket throughout the young quarterback’s career, seeing as how he is the lone holdover in the receiving corps from Sanchez’s rookie season. Throughout the last 2 seasons he has led the team in receptions, despite the disappearing act he likes to pull for multiple weeks at a time. However THIS season was suppose to be Keller’s year, with coach Tony Soparano’s obsession in plays involving tight ends. His hamstring injury severely slowed down those plans unfortunately for the Jets.

Dustin Keller’s return isn’t just a nice bonus against the 49ers, its a much needed addition. With rookie wide receiver Stephen Hill is expected to miss Sunday’s game, and Keller should help to lessen the blow while also giving a legitimate boost to the receiving threat at tight end. His presence should also slide the other TE’s down the depth chart, sparing us fans from having to watch the “Dedrick Epps and Konrad Reuland” sets together.

Coach Ryan said he fully expects Keller to be playing this weekend, which is much needed news for the Jets Offense. With or without Keller, the 49ers defense is going to be a huge challenge for New York’s offense, and one that most analysts are expecting them to fail at. The question will be can Soparano and Sanchez piece together a respectable performance that gives the Jets a legitimate chance for a W?

Tune in Sunday to find out………Lets goooo Jets!!!
