Team | W | L | PCT. | GB
Red Sox| 70 | 51 | .579 | -
Yankees| 67 | 54 | .554 | 3.0
And you can talk about how much the Yankees payroll is compared to the Red Sox. Yeah, that sign must be making you look intelligent

26 World Series championships in the past is great. IN THE PAST. Who won it last year after the a team (which will remain nameless) had the biggest collapse in playoff history? Oh yeah, that would be the Red Sox. What team leads the AL East? Oh that would be the Red Sox. What team has the highest payroll in baseball, and if the season ended today would NOT be in the playoffs? That would be the Yankees. It's not based on history, it's based on the present. 5 years ago doesn't matter now, its only what happened last year and the offseason. Yankees fans should seriously get over history.

If they had the best record in the AL last year, then to me they had every right to go to the World Series. But they didn't, the Yanks did, but the MLB is too busy looking at the bank and T.V. ratings and not the true sport of it all.
I was high up there, so you probably didn't see me. The game sucked.

Lets say the Yankee$ won the wild card, which is very very possible. What would you say? Would you say the Yankees shouldn't be there? On the inside I bet you'll be thanking God.

Last year is one thing. Five years ago is totally different. While it may still be in the past, it is not the distant past like 2000. It's like saying the Jets will win the Superbowl this year because they won it in 1968. You understand? A team is only as good as what happened last time, not years back.

But to me, I don't want wild card,
ALTHOUGH...We have a better shot to go farther with one, Because i9 think it'll be easier to beat the White Sox than it will to beat the Angles, but I want the division and If I gotta get it 1978 style, then I'll take it

Unlike the Yankees, if the season ended today, the Phillies would have a playoff spot. And they wouldn't have done it with juiced up players and the league's highest payroll.
By they way, you hate the wild card because it brings the integrity of baseball into question, am I correct? Well then why don't you also question the salary cap issue and the weak steroid policy? Is it maybe because your team is the team with the highest payroll, and also because one of your players is already guilty of juicing up? And your moral dislike of wild card is quite hypocritical, I never once heard you complain about the Jets winning the wild card. Or is it because your Yankees have lost to a wild card team in 2002, 2003 and 2004?

The only player on the yankees that has been on riods is Giambi. Also IF the season ended today the yankees would miss the playoffs and the phillies would make it, but lets see what happens at the end of the season. The A's are falling down, they have lost 5 out of the last 6 games. The team I am worried about is the indians.

It's not that, I mean, last year, the Cardinals had no right to play the Sox, they shoulda played the Yanks.
In 2003, I think it actually shoulda been the Cubs and Yanks.
By the why, I was still in diapers the last, and only time the Yanks won the wild card.
But I call for Steinbrenner's head.

I never hated giambi or liked him. Didn't he once say when he was in okland and they where about to face the yankees in the playoffs "Bring it on."

Yes that's the point and to be quite honest, I still Giambi is on human growth hormone. But that's all assumption.
