Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:55 PM) Teammates talking shut about Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) In case you haven't heard, because why would anyone report on the Giants, Nicks is also holding out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) That makes both Cruz and Nicks.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) But who cares, Sanchez threw 3 "interceptions"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:59 PM) ?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:59 PM) why would we give a f*** about the Giants?
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 03:04 PM) gg03 jimmies are riled
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) You're not in NY. All the backpages are focused on Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) None of the NY media even mention Cruz or Nicks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:40 PM) nicks isn't holding out. he's injured still and taking it easy. cruz is holding out. why it isn't a big ordeal IDK. it would be for us
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) maybe because theyre not that far off.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) Cruz wants to return back, they'll figure it out.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) 3 mil a year off or 30% less then cruz wants. tahst alot of money to be off
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) cruz doens't want to leave NY cause teh extra money he'll get in endorsements plus he knows taht they can RFA him this year and then Franchise next year so he might not be able to get a LTD for 3 years
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 05:21 PM) Clemens11/Tebow15 (soon to be Smith7) said if we had just drafted Crabtree and Nicks and kept Clemens, we'd be good.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) No, he can't be Smith7
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) his name is reserved for garbage QBs, we don't want Geno to be bad
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) He can be McElroy14
extmenace Icon : (Yesterday, 06:51 PM) we're taking bridgewater next year with the number 1 pick and treating geno like a jimmy clausen.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:53 PM) What makes Bridgewater better than Geno?
HurricaneJet32 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:12 PM) everything
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 PM) ^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:16 PM) college players always get hyped up before the draft process, just wondering what makes him so much better.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) Stronger arm, plays in a pro system, better throwing motion, better athlete
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) there's probably nothing Geno does right now that's better than what Teddy does
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 10:25 PM) Wouldn't it be funny with Bridgewater ends up having the type of season Barkley had?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) better athlete but never runs as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) stronger arm but rarely throws deep
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) I am trying to find this article, but Bridgewater had about the least amount of 40+ throws in college football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:49 AM) I wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't viewed as highly next year. College players always get hyped up a year before the draft process. People change their opinions quickly.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:56 AM) I'll put a good amount of money that Bridgewater is still highly regarded coming out next year.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) ok I found the chart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) Bridgewater had 0% of his passes go 40+ yards in college
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) tehhhh
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:37 AM) it wasn't for 3 years and Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect to come out in years. Teddy Bridgewater most likely isn't Luck or RGIII
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:40 AM) I've only seen Bridgewater play once. That was against Florida, I actually watched that game.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:12 PM) Teddy will be a good NFL QB I think
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Today, 12:52 PM) THE KNICKS
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 01:21 PM) THE. KNICKS.

THREE LONGSHOTS AIM FOR THE GREEN

By MARK CANNIZZARO May 13, 2007 -- If the fickle gods of fate have their way, three players participating in the Jets' rookie minicamp that opened yesterday at Weeb Ewbank Hall will carve out rather unique NFL careers.

It's a long shot that any one of the three, all of whom are tryout players in for a three-day look-see, will perform well enough to push the team to sign him to a contract. That's because, unlike the other draft picks and free agents working in the minicamp, the three never played college football.

Jesse Pellot-Rosa, a receiver who hasn't suited up in a football uniform since he was a senior in high school, was a member of the Virginia Commonwealth basketball team that shocked Duke in the first-round of the NCAA Tournament in March.

Outside linebacker Tommy Rowlands, a world-class wrestler out of Ohio State who's the No. 1-ranked freestyle heavyweight in the world and headed to the 2008 Olympic Games, hasn't played organized football since eighth grade.

Asked yesterday what position he played, he said, "I don't even remember."

Offensive lineman Cole Konrad, also a world-class freestyle wrestler vying to be on the '08 Olympic team, hasn't played football since he was a freshman in high school. Last month, he lost to Rowlands in the U.S. National Wrestling Championships and is ranked just behind the former Buckeye. Asked when he found out Rowlands was also invited to the Jets' minicamp, Konrad said, "I didn't know he was coming here until Friday."

Give the Jets this: They are creative.

Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum is fond of saying that he and Eric Mangini don't like to leave "any stone unturned" when looking for players.

Each of the three players, contacted by assistant director of pro scouting Brendan Prophet, was shocked to get the call from the Jets.

"I couldn't believe it," Rowlands said. "I thought it was a prank call."

Konrad was equally surprised.

"It caught me off guard completely," he said. "They said they were bringing me in to see my foot speed and agility to see what kind of potential I had."

Pellot-Rosa said he got the call from the Jets "right after we lost to Pitt [in the second round of the NCAAs]. . . . I was very surprised," he said. "I was still mad about the loss. I was ready to play UCLA in the next round."

Rowlands, who admitted that he might have trouble figuring out how to put pads on if it gets to that (the players work in shirts and shorts in the minicamp), said it's a difficult transition.

"It's informational overload," Rowlands said. "I have a lot harder time catching onto things and learning the terminology. It doesn't matter how much you can retain information if you don't know what the words mean."

Rowlands and Konrad said they'll go right back to preparing for the Olympics once the minicamp is over tomorrow.

Rowlands said. "On June 10, I compete in the final qualification process to go to the World Championships, so my mind was on totally different things three days ago," Rowlands said. "It's been a dream of mine to go to the Olympics."

What if this football thing works out?

"My attitude right now is to take advantage of the opportunity and do the best I can and if they want me to be a part of the team I'll cross the bridge when we get to it," he said. "I'm just trying to a good enough job to where they would even consider me. . . . I love watching football. I've always been curious about how I would do."

All three will know a lot more by the end of the weekend.

WHAT THE FUCK????
Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.

As for Pett-Rosa, at 6-4 he's big for a receiver, and if he's a guard in basketball he's probably fast. He clearly can reboound, too.

The guess here is that it is worth seeing if he does well in the end zone outjumping the defender for a TD. I've heard of crazier ideas.
