I heard a rumor that the Jets might give up the 1st round pick for him..... If they do I will be soo pissed off. No way is he worth that much, unless they give us a 2nd round pick too, then I would be ok with it since we would have 3 2nd round picks. But that is exactly what we dont want to do, give up first round picks, they are gold. We need to keep the 1st round because you can get so many different types of all pro players and its the best way to get young talent and groom them through your system. Its probaly just speculation though, just like all the other BS rumors there were last year... I wish we could some how package McCariens and like a 5th round for him, I would do that. McCariens is a bumb anyways, though I am no longer sure about trading for players with high draft picks, since the last 2 I can remember were McCariens and Jolly that we traded for and they were shit. Plus we have been pretty consistent on our draft picks. But then again, I would like turner, he did rush for half of a 1,000 yards off of 80 carries. Thats pretty good with a 6.3 average.

No way would I give up a 1st for Turner either, it would be a waste of a pick on top of a huge contract as there is a lot of talent in this draft and wasting our 1st on a guy like Turner would be a huge mistake.
From what I understand SD will tender him a contract that if any team decides to offer more, will cost that team a 1st rounder; they may even tender him a deal that requires a 1st and 3rd rounder as compensation.
SD will get a 1st rounder out of some team for him and it better not be the Jets.

McCareins is a decent receiver and SD is pretty weak at that position. I think they'd do it for JMac and a 3rd.

However, when has Tangini not acted prudently with our draft picks? They aren't suckers and they aren't gonna screw up the draft. Tanny said specifically that they are gonna continue to build this team the right way... through the draft. That being said, I don't think they'd give up a 1st round pick for anyone. Too valuable.

That's exactly how I feel. I'm always weary about a RB who has never been a starter and never had to shoulder a whole load. I'm extremely weary about a guy who's success has all come behind the best RB in football. LT tires out the defense and Turner comes in and pounds it. Who's to say he would be any good without LT in front of him? I'm not saying he wouldn't be, I'm just saying there's no way I give up a first rounder for him.

Thats a highlight run by Turner is college. Turner is a beast. He was half way away from 1,000 yards this year on only 80 carries. He had a 6.3 average. I would like to get him, but I wouldnt want to trade our first for him. I want a RB this offseason, either Turner, or Lynch.

i read some where on this site the suggestion of our 1st and 3rd for turner and the SD 2nd...that I might consider...we can still do damage with three 2nds.....but i think we need to focus on getting a stud with our 1st...hopefully DL...i always think about how far that Jolley trade has set us back....who may we have gotten for that 1st rounder....instead we got a TE that didnt start...horrible trade even though I like rhodes and nugent it doesnt make it a good deal bc we made it work in the end
