Azjetfan is the nyjetsfan #1 pick
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:23 AM) He can start day 1 at RT
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:24 AM) would he refuse to sign?
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:24 AM) i feel like he would
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 11:24 AM) We should go for him
Smedsthejet Icon : (Yesterday, 11:24 AM) Nice value pick to begin day 3
Chadforpresi... Icon : (Yesterday, 11:25 AM) I thought Collins said we'll withdraw if not picked by day 2
Chadforpresi... Icon : (Yesterday, 11:25 AM) But yeah hard to deny the value in getting Petty round 4
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:26 AM) i did not expect him or hundley to still be there past round 3 on thursday
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:26 AM) so picking him up is great
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 11:30 AM) I want to be the first person to say it. "Broadway Bryce"
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:30 AM) imagine being a jaguars super fan haha
Chadforpresi... Icon : (Yesterday, 11:37 AM) Damn Vikes got Clemmings, in round 4 he's worth it
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:28 PM) Can we get a post with the selections
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 12:40 PM) It's tough to do with iPad but I'll get one started
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 01:01 PM) Jay Ajayi ?
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 01:02 PM) Maybe a Tyrus Thompson?
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 01:22 PM) Phi a took Ajaji
Smedsthejet Icon : (Yesterday, 01:33 PM) Some depth on the line with the Harrison pick
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:43 PM) I read the scouting report for Harrison, the scout said he has probowl talent but has a work ethic concern.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 03:10 PM) Who the hell is Bryce petty
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 03:20 PM) Tom Pettys brother
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:22 PM) Jets should take Collins with one of their 7th rounders if there
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:22 PM) He has more upside for a 7th rounder than anyone else
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:22 PM) He can start right away at RT
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:29 PM) He said he won't sign
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:32 PM) so he doesn't want to be drafted?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:33 PM) If Collins doesn't get drafted, he can't enter next years draft. He can only if he is drafted and sits out. So I guess he has to go undrafted
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:41 PM) going undrafted makes the most sense for collins
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:41 PM) but for teams, drafting him and dealing with his holdout makes more sense
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:19 PM) Zac Stacy was traded to us for our 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:21 PM) Jets also drafted a NT with our other 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:21 PM) 6'4 330 DL who is very strong
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:25 PM) zac stacy for a 7th
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:25 PM) well can't complain about that
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 04:29 PM) So we have 4 rbs now
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:31 PM) still would have rather taken a runner on collins but i can't complain with depth
V DidDy 210 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:32 PM) i mean they can't expect to carry 4 rb though no?
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 05:50 PM) Collins would have been a waste. He would not have signed. At least we have something to show for our pick. Worst case scenario is we trade or release one of our backs.
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 05:56 PM) I know it's hard to tell without seeing a win loss record yet but this regime seems really on point.
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 05:56 PM) For the first time in my life I can say I feel comfortable with the people making the decisions.
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 05:57 PM) I was close with Parcells but he seemed like a short term fixer and didn't care about the long term
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 06:57 PM) SUCK FOR THE DUCK
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 06:57 PM) .......oh wait
santana Icon : (Today, 01:13 AM) Well that was a disappointment
Chadforpresi... Icon : (Today, 01:24 AM) I like getting Stacy for our 7th rounder, assuming he can handle the fact he won't be a feature back (yikes)

Scout.com reports "sources familiar with the Chargers" believe the Jets are willing to trade their first-round pick for Michael Turner. Turner, a restricted free agent, isn't even under contract with San Diego, but this appears to be a possibility once he's tendered. The Jets would then explore signing him long term. San Diego is reportedly now looking at running back prospects, possibly Penn State's Tony Hunt.

i would be super pissed if we did this. "i do not think micheal turner is worth a 1st round draft choice. even though it will be at #25, we should bring in our own players via the draft and coach them up in our system. i just feel like we would be getting ripped off because SD wouldn't be losing anything. whether or not turner is on their team next season does not really matter since they have LT. giving them a 1st rounder when james and alexander couldn't even get a 2nd rounder would be totally unfair to us. we should just draft micheal bush at #37 since he might be the steal of the draft when he turns out to be a TD machine."

this might just be a smoke screen by the Chargers looking to get a higher pick in the 1st round for turner or it could be a smoke scrren by the Jets looking to trap the Chargers into trading Turner for a 2nd rounder..

if its the Jets than Schott must really have seen something in the guy from his time in San Diego if he's willing to give up a first!

Scout.com doesn't know a thing about what the Jets are gonna do. Who are these "sources"? Last time I checked, the Jets front office was like Fort Knox. Infomation doesn't leak out of there anymore.

It's not even offseason yet and there are so-called sources inside the Chargers FO that are telling people Michael Turner is up for a grabs? I don't think so. Sounds like some talking internet heads. I'm willing to bet that the Turner doesn't even come to NY because the Jets aren't gonna part with draft picks when they can get a RB in the draft. Tanny knows better. He's already said they are gonna build the right way. You don't trade for a franchise RB, you draft them.

No f.ing thank you he's not worth a first rounder, he's gonna ask for a lot of money because he's like the only FA RB, and we could just get Micheal Bush in the second round meanwhile we can get a DE in the first round. He's Not that good.

Let's hope management realizes that too! These days I get nervous.

In all honesty, this is just the same speculation that reporters keep writing about because it's been out there written already by some other moron that is speculating. It's people SPECULATING. They wouldn't even give up a 1st round pick for Reggie Bush. Why would they do it for Turner?

Bush is kinda like the Maurice Jones-Drew in this draft. and i wouldnt mind having a guy like that on this team. He got some major yards while splitting time w/ Taylor. He also ran all over the Pats. icon_idea.gif

That's because the Cards o-line blows. Look at Marshall Faulk and the Rams, he was drafted by the Colts, look at Corey Dillon, he was drafted by the Bengals, but he helped the Pats get to the Super Bowl in 04. Not saying to give the Chargers a 1st, but James isn't the problem in Arizona.

I don't know what you're pointing to saying they are similiar...but I don't see any similiarities...other than possible draft spots.

Michael Bush is 6'3"...
Maurice Drew is 5'7"...

Michael Bush is injured...
Maurice Drew had a killer final season...

Michael Bush is a big, slow guy...
Marice Drew is a burner with power...

I just don't see the comparisons...

This trade is a good thing. I think the NY teams need to band together and make stupid trades to make the Chargers as strong as possible. The Giants already did their part...

If they did that trade, I will be alittle bit mad, unless Turner runs for over 1,200 yards, I will say it was a horrible trade. Turner was a 5th round draft pick, and people are acting like this guy is top 10 talent. Or even first round talent, the Chargers have to know that he really doesnt have that much value, I mean the most carries he had in a season was 80. Thats not worth a first round pick to me. I would be mad if this happened.

Good post. IMO it all seems like speculation. I doubt anyone really knows what the Jets are going to this offseason (besides themselves), which is the way it should be.

If he didn't run for 1600 yards then I'd be pissed. 1200 is pedestrian for a 1st round pick.

None the less, Tony Hunt seems to be on the Jets radar. He's a big back at 237 lbs. That's nice.

For the 179th time, Turner has not proved he is worth giving up a 1st round pick for! Especially this year with the amount of talent available in the draft.

It's no secret that I don't think Turner is worthy of a first rounder. However, as others have said, Schott was in San Diego for Turner's first two years. He certainly knows a lot more about Turner than any of us do. If he and Tangini decide to give up the first rounder for him, there must be a damn good reason. If they do pull the trigger on this, I'm gonna reserve my judgement until I see Turner play. I'm hoping they don't, but if they do it could only be because Schott really likes him.
