1986 was much worse.Jets should have went the Superbowl and ended up choking in the playoffs
This year the way the pass defense is no one would be surprised if the Jets lost in the first round if they even make the playoffs
I do see your point though the way they collasped at the end of the season

86 didn't sting as much to me because the Mets won. The last time a team of mine kicked ass and took names. That is the tricky part in New York is getting the right combination of players that don't care what the fans, newspapers, or other teams think about them. The 86 Mets knew they were the beast team, was *beep*y and backed it up. That is whats missing from the Jets until they get that they will not be successful. I am not saying that is easy to do but once you convince yourself you are a top dog the rest of the league won't buy into it. They had a golden opportunity to start to build that. The rest of the league was taking notice, the fans were behind them and that folded so far. I blame the coaching for that. They can still establish that by winning out and winning out convincingly, otherwise...................trouble
