Jets hire Maccagnan as GM and Bowles as HC. Who's starting the billboard fundraiser?

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (23 January 2015 - 09:21 PM) Bad hire, the 49ers are seriously downgrading in coach. Going from Harbuagh to Tomsula, now Fangio to Mangini
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (23 January 2015 - 10:06 PM) Lol wow
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 08:17 AM) I hate when people say mangini built our team, I didn't know he was gm. Tannenbaum was good at making moves
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 02:05 PM) Bowles added pepper Johnson as dl coach, nice
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 04:13 PM) FIRE JOHNSON

ganggreen2003 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 06:06 PM) I can't wait to see what Maccagnan does in Free Agency and in the draft
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 07:40 PM) @AlbertBreer
The Jets are hiring Bears nat'l scout Rex Hogan as their director of college scouting. Chicago has released him from his contract
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 07:40 PM) @AlbertBreer 14m14 minutes ago
The Jets are also hiring Rams scout Brian Heimerdinger to a prominent front-office role. St. Louis let him out of his deal.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 07:48 PM) Heimerdinger is our director of player personnel now
ganggreen2003 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 08:12 PM) That is Mike Heimerdinger's son who used to be our OC in 05
ganggreen2003 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 08:12 PM) hopefully his son isn't as horrible as his pop was at play calling
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 08:17 PM) Everyone looks like a bad playcaller when you have no QB and have no talent
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 08:18 PM) When Heimerdinger was our OC it was when we had a ton of injuries on offense, were down to our 4th or 5th string QB

HarlemHxC814 Icon : (24 January 2015 - 08:42 PM) FIRE HEIMERDINGER

Mr_Jet Icon : (26 January 2015 - 06:47 PM) Thanks Obama.
Mr_Jet Icon : (26 January 2015 - 06:49 PM) But really for all of you complaining about the site. What is there to talk about? We have a new GM and HC that we don't know how good or bad they'll be yet. So there really isn't much to talk about with the draft still months away.
azjetfan Icon : (26 January 2015 - 09:59 PM) Even I can't blame Obama :drinks:
MikeGangGree... Icon : (26 January 2015 - 11:42 PM) It could be worse

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (27 January 2015 - 11:17 AM) There are some good OGs available in FA, we have to sign one
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (27 January 2015 - 11:18 AM) Willie Colon was rated as one of the worst in football last season. So was Winters. Oday shows promise
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (27 January 2015 - 11:18 AM) Orlando Franklin, Mike Iupati, Clint Boling. Should sign one
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (27 January 2015 - 12:34 PM) Franklin or Iupati would be great
ganggreen2003 Icon : (27 January 2015 - 01:46 PM) hey reg how did you make out in this storm?
ganggreen2003 Icon : (27 January 2015 - 01:47 PM) we got slammed with snow but the wind didn't knock out our power so I made out pretty unscathed here in RI

I started posting some DE prospects because it doesn't look like we're going to be able to get a big 3-4 DT in this draft.
Except for Alan Branch (a top 5 pick) and Paul Soliai (5th rounder?) there is nobody with the size we need. Take a look at the top 25 and their sizes. Which means to me we will probably go DT through Free Agency.

1. Alan Branch Michigan 6-6 331 5.25
2. Amobi Okoye Louisville 6-1 317 5.15
3. Quinn Pitcock Ohio St. 6-3 295 5.05
4. DeMarcus Tyler North Carolina St. 6-2 305 5.30
5. Justin Harrell Tennessee 6-4 300 5.15
6. Ryan McBean Oklahoma St. 6-5 290 5.10
7. Kareem Brown Miami (FL) 6-5 315 5.10
8. Brandon Mebane California 6-3 295 5.10
9. Marcus Thomas Florida 6-3 296 4.95
10. Turk McBride Tennessee 6-4 275 5.00
11. Antonio Johnson Mississippi St. 6-3 300 4.95
12. David Patterson Ohio St. 6-3 285 5.05
13. Paul Soliai Utah 6-4 334 5.05
14. Jay Alford Penn St. 6-3 288 5.10
15. Derek Landri Notre Dame 6-3 277 5.05
16. Stanley Doughty South Carolina 6-1 331 5.30
17. Ola Dagunduro Nebraska 6-2 300 5.05
18. Keith Jackson Arkansas 6-0 296 5.10
19. Clifton Ryan Michigan St. 6-2 302 5.00
20. Conrad Bolston Maryland 6-3 303 5.35
21. Quintin Echols Kansas St. 6-0 316 5.20
22. Larry Brown Oklahoma St. 6-3 295 4.95
23. Matt Toeaina Oregon 6-3 301 5.05
24. Deljuan Robinson Mississippi St. 6-3 296 5.15
25. Jeremy Clark Alabama 6-3 305 5.15

Amobi Okoye has the size, he is a natural NT, and its not all about size. Plus he is only 19 years old, was a 16 year old freshmen, he has tons of room to grow.

iagree.gif As most prospects are 22 when they come out Okoye is 3 years behind their physical development and could easily put on 10+ lbs in that period of time whilst still being serviceable in the league.

Thats why if hes on the board we have to take him, I highly doubt that he will be though. But we can have him back up Robertson for this year and have him rotate in, he wouldnt be rushed into playing.

Oh yeah...could easily put on 20 pounds on would think...Okoye could probably be in the 330-335 range if he wanted. What's great about him is he has a low body fat percentage...so the added weight will be mostly muscle and hopefully not hinder his speed or athleticism much.

Thats the guy I want to sign in the FA, he is a big run stuffer, that what we need for NT. He would be good for us to draft.

He hovers in the high 290's, 300 weight....

That isn't going to cut it as a 3-4 NT. Yeah he's a run stuffer...but he'd need to put on a lot more weight...

Plus I think New Orleans will resign him...
