Jetsman05 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:45 PM) you want the NFL to say sorry and you want Morningwig canned. You're a clown
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:45 PM) Gotta give credit to greenbay. That's a good football team
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:46 PM) f*** an apology. It's not going to change anything in the standings which is what matters at the end of the season.
FlyHiJets Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:46 PM) definitely reminds me of AFC Championship in Denver
canuckfan Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:46 PM) marty ranks up there with bittfumble
canuckfan Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) buttfumble
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) The should have made sure he knew who was calling the time out. Hell Rex was on his right and Marty was on his left.
mgjetman Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) Getting lazy with a minute 50 on the clock before half was the nail in the coffin.
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:48 PM) The ref
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:49 PM) There is plenty of blame to spread around. No team should lose a 17 point lead anyway.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:50 PM) DUDS - Miliner and Marty
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:50 PM) BRUTAL LOSS
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:52 PM) I really don't blame Marty because it's the refs job to make sure he sees who is calling the timeout. Plus the ball had already been snapped before he even noticed somebody was calling a TO.
mgjetman Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:53 PM) Just gave that game away. WTH!!!
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:54 PM) He didn't even blow the whistle until Geno already had dropped back to pass. The play was already well underway.
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:03 PM) I heard it when the ball was already in the air
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) but it shouldn't of come down to that TO blunder
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) we did give up a 18 point lead
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) so we fucked up and lost
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) True
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) time to get ready for MNF
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) Well it sucks when you start to feel the jets are going to lose the game them selves
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) the Vick play worthless
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) that run on 3rd and 5 worthless
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) chris Johnson also I don't know what his numbers were but ivory seemed to be a better back
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:13 PM) Marty just picks the worse time to call those wildcat plays
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:13 PM) they are drive killers
ROBJETS Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:27 PM) Problem is the corners. We knew this before the start of the season. I was amazed at how well they did last week and the first half but eventually the weakness showed
ROBJETS Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:28 PM) The corner positions will be addressed next year. Technically we are still in a rebuilding phase.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:39 PM) we did go toe to toe against a SB contender and we really shouldn't be heartbroken but if you call yourself a JETS fan and aren't a little pissed over a W that we had in our control then you need to go and hand in your JETS gear ... I'm looking at you 115

From mortensen's blog at espn.com

Jets coach Eric Mangini got an excused absence from attending the Senior Bowl. "He needed to get away," said Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum. "He burned it pretty hard going back to the day he was hired."

I realize how hard he worked all year, but does this affect the scouting at all in your opinions? Im just curious because Tanny is great, but if mangini was there to see a guy like Carriker or Okoye or Bowe who is blowing shit up right now it might influence what we do come draft day. I mean film is one thing, but from what Kiper says Carriker is the first player you notice during the workouts dominating...Mangini being the 3/4 guy might say "we need this guy" if he saw him in person.....thoughts??

FINALLY!!!! A REAL BIG BOY!!!

No, I dont think it does. I think it's more important for him to get some rest than it is for him to be there. We have reps there. That's what the scouting team is for. Mangini will watch film on these guys.

Agreed. If he's fried he'll never make the right decisions.
Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.

Exactly. He'd be less able to give the attention to details and he'd overlook certain things which isn't what we want. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure that's why they hire a scouting team.

iagree.gif with all those who agree its better for Mangini to get rest. everyone put great points and i just wanna reitterate that the scouts are gunna be there to do their jobs and he can watch film latter in good health instead of being tired, burnt, out and not wanting to look at people or film this week. Let the guy rest up he deserves it. Everyone else is paid to scout um so let them do their job.

Not syaing I dont agree....I just think he is the one who knows the 3/4 the best and it would be nice if he were there. Plus, either way, i thought it might give us something new to talk about for a few minutes besides whether we hate or love pennington and whether we should give up a 1st for turner.

FINALLY!!!! A REAL BIG BOY!!!

No kidding. Although I like to debate the QB issue. The only thing that isn't even an issue is that Turner is not worth a 1st round pick. Some team is gonna be stupid enough to trade for him and I'm just hoping that's not the Jets.

At the end of the day, I dont think they are gonna be scouting the RB's too hard out there. I think they're interested in Bush. Production is what it is and the kid was really productive. I think the player they're really interested in is Adam Carriker. Probably looking at those tweeners too.

The scouts there will know what Mangini and Tannenbaum are looking for for players to play in the 3-4 as they will have been heavily briefed. Tannenbaum and Mangini are on the same wavelength too so it won't really be a disadvantage to us with Mangini kicking his feet up and enjoying time with his family.

He told his guys what he wants, and they know what to look for, and plus Mr.T is there, and he knows the core values and everything. They will tell him everything he needs to know. The Superbowl teams HCs arent there. They have their reps there too.

At first I thought you were actually talking about Mr. T, who is a big Jets fan. I was thinking to myself, how in the world does that help the Jets? crazy.gif

Thats why you have scouts. These guys get paid handsomely to make the right evaluations. I'm sure Mangini will watch film on the guys they have their eyes on. He's human not a robot. He has burned the candle at both ends all year. He has a family and kids. He needs this!

This is what teams pay scouts for. Tannenbaum is there as well it's no big deal.
