Jetsfan115 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 10:22 AM) well there is a silver lining to this season, tom brady sucks and so do the pats
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 11:48 AM) Jets sign John Conner back, with Bohannon injured at FB
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 11:49 AM) that is why they should consider starting Vick, they could compete for the divsion with solid QB play. Can Rex really afford to sit there waiting for things to click with Geno while he keeps throwing INTs?
Jetsfan115 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 12:26 PM) i didn't even notive bohannon was hurt
Jetsfan115 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 12:28 PM) vick gives us a chance to win now, geno can still learn as a backup
santana Icon : (30 September 2014 - 01:28 PM) I miss T Bo already
ganggreen2003 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 02:35 PM) The raiders are a dumpster fire
ganggreen2003 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 02:36 PM) they are naming Tony Sparano yes that Tony Sparano formally the OC of the NYJ and the wildcat whacko from Miami is the new interim HC for the Oakland Gayders
ganggreen2003 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 02:39 PM) well good thing we got rid of LaRon Landry since he just got suspended for PED's
Jetsfan115 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 03:08 PM) i'm not suprised. that guy looked like he was on roids
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 September 2014 - 06:10 PM) FIRE IDZIK
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 09:37 AM) fantasy help - Rivers and DJax for Dez and Tannehill? i'll be getting dez and tannehill. i'm the one proposing the trade.
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 09:41 AM) i have brees starting. they have eli.
2JBallar01 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:53 PM) I would do that trade. Djax has been horrible and with you having Brees as your starter, i would totally do that trade
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:57 PM) START VICK
RetireChrebet Icon : (Yesterday, 08:59 PM) If that guy gives up dez for rivers and Jackson he's an idiot
RetireChrebet Icon : (Yesterday, 09:00 PM) I just traded dez and Steve smith for AJ green, Reggie Wayne, golden Tate and Stevan Ridley and I feel like I made a bad choice.
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 10:02 PM) they have no QB. 1-3 with eli/tannehill as your starter? i need another WR or RB to strengthen my team and Rivers is my best sell.
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 10:03 PM) kinda hoping to use the desperation to shore up my team

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Brett Favre is having too much fun leading the first-place New York Jets to even think about next season.

"I don't see how anyone, aside from you guys, can focus on next year when what we're trying to do right now is win and do something this year," Favre told reporters Wednesday. "I'm 39 years old. I know the better days are behind me, for the most part. There won't be 16 more years or 17 more years. I'm trying to enjoy and help this team win now."

So far, so good.

Favre has the Jets (7-3) alone atop the AFC East for the first time in seven years, and they've got perhaps their biggest test Sunday when they take on the undefeated Titans at Tennessee. Still, questions about the future persist for Favre, who retired after last season only to return to football a few months later.

"I have people -- friends, family -- who ask me all the time about next year," Favre said. "The answer I give them, which is the honest answer, is I really don't know. I really don't know. To be totally honest with you, I really don't care. What I care about is trying to beat Tennessee."

After a mistake-filled rough patch a few weeks ago, Favre has been solid lately. He's second in the AFC with a 93.0 quarterback rating and most importantly, he hasn't thrown an interception in two weeks. He went 26-of-33 for a season-high 78.8 completion percentage, throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns in New York's 34-31 overtime victory at New England last Thursday.

"I played last week like I expect to play," Favre said. "I thought I played at a high level, but that's what they brought me in here to do. I expect to play like that every week, and hope to."

Favre was superb during the Jets' last two scoring drives. He engineered a 14-play, 67-yard drive that took 7:06 off the clock and led to a touchdown by Thomas Jones in the fourth quarter. The drive in overtime was even more impressive, with the Jets going 64 yards in 14 plays -- including Favre completing a 16-yard pass to Dustin Keller on third-and-15 to keep things going and set up Jay Feely's winning field goal.

After the Jets pulled off that win, an excited Favre came off the field hugging everyone in sight -- even patting coach Eric Mangini on the backside.

"No one has as much fun as me," Favre said. "I've had more people tell me that throughout my career: 'Man, we love to watch you play. Your enthusiasm and stuff like that.' I mean, it's not fabricated. I love to play the game. There's nothing like throwing a touchdown pass. There's nothing like going into Foxborough and beating them when no one gave us a chance. There's nothing like going to play the undefeated team in football right now. All eyes will be on us."

It's a position Favre is used to being in, playing nearly his entire career under the microscope of fan and media scrutiny.

"He's got a great way about him at the games, that poise, that confidence, all those things," Mangini said. "But during the course of the week, he's also got a very good personality in the sense that he can be focused, get his work done, but keep the group light, keep practice fun, keep the guys excited about each day."

After accomplishing so much during his career and breaking so many records, Favre still finds it easy to be motivated on the field.

"I just think you have to seize the moment, whatever that may be," he said. "I'd like to say I've seen it all and done it all, but that's not true. A big win like we had Thursday night, I think, 'Man, it just doesn't get any better than this.' Then you play next week against a team that's undefeated. You never know. Enjoy it while you can and obviously be productive at the same time."

Before the season started, Favre had a conversation with Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum in which they discussed the quarterback's future and his prospects for playing beyond this season.

"I said, 'You may not want me back,'" Favre recalled. "'Let me do what I can do now. Maybe that's not good enough, I don't know.'

"'But you brought me in here to win now and help this team, however that may be. Let me do that to the best of my ability and then focus on next year when the season's over, which is later rather than sooner.'"

Favre has at least been consistent since joining the Jets in August through a trade with Green Bay. He has insisted all along he's only focused on what's happening now, and sees a big challenge this week with a tough Tennessee defense that ranks first in points allowed.

"It seems like every week the games get bigger and bigger," Favre said. "And that's what happens when you win, you put yourself in this position. So I think it's a measuring stick for us to find out who we are, what we're capable of doing."
