He must not like the weather in N.Y.--Too cold for him I guess. Anyway, I say let him go. Mangini will have us ready next season no matter what. Anyway, I want a OC that will stop calling that friggin lateral pass that just killed us last week. Believe me, Nick Saben is alot of things but stupid is not one of them. He knew enough to get out of a crumbling organization like Miami. They will be rebuilding for the next three years and I think Shotty is biting off more than he can chew. I don't understand why he or anyone else would want anything to do with a team that has to ask the media for ideas on what they should do!

I heard a Tannenbaum in an interview this week saying they are prepared for anything and they have guys line-up incase anyone of the coaches leave.

But in actually knowing the Dolphins GM he wants a name. Cam Cameron is the leading candidate for the job and will more then likely get it. Schott is too green still and I'm sure he doesn't want to be in the same division as Beli and Mangini. He'll probably look to get out because he'd have a had time getting past Juron,Beli and Mangini every year and all those I just listed are defensive minded coaches. Offense's don't win championships. Defenses do. If he take's the Miami job he's going to have a rough time in this division

You work with the tools you're given, Pennington can't throw more than 15-20 yards, so a lateral pass is expected more often than not. Anyway, Pennington changes plays at the line.

There was nothing wrong with that play call or nothing wrong with Chad's execution. It was a great defensive play by Colvin to read it and bat the ball away. Chad had to throw it laterally as the Pats CB were playing tight on the man at the line.
The playcalling and the system was a large reason why we won 10 games this year as it was geared to the strengths of the offense and ensured plays weren't being called that the personell would struggle to make. I will be pissed if Schotty goes but MT is a great GM and Mangini is a great coach and know what they are looking for in a replacement and ground work will have been done already.

I wonder, if Schotty does leave, would we make Jimmy Raye our new OC? He is our RBs coach and been a OC like 5 times before, so he is experience.

Dolphins aren't gonna hire Schotty over candidates like Cam Cameron. The guy has done quite a good job with getting the right people the ball over there in SD.

You know what's funny though.... this one another one of those HIGHLY criticized moves by Tangini which once again has turned out to be genius. I have faith in the new regime.

Jay Glazer reported a possibility of Jim Mora JR in Miami.

I don't think theyll pick Schott. He's just not as qualified as guys like Cameron. It would be extraordinarily bad if they did though.

Where did you hear that from? In the other thread it didn't mention Mora's name in the list of finalists. IMO Mora is a good coach and would be suited for what Miami are going through right now as they need an experienced guy to pull them out of that mess.

Cardinals Hire Whisenhunt

Whisenhunt is out of the picture as the Cards just appointed him.

Mort and Glazer said that the Miamis owner is flying over to Mora for a 2nd interview today.

i pray they dont take him that would be a huge loss for us but i wouldnt be suprised......the afc east is a coaching carosel...next thing you know the Bills will be stealing away Dom Capers from the dolphins next year...and besides if things dont work out for him he'll be back with us within the next 2 seasons.........Culpepper is injury prone and cant be coached like chad could and doesnt work well in the short passing game which is Schotty's trademark (the guycouldnt hit a wide-open reciver 5 yards in front of him) and their back up is Joey Harrington enuff said

The only part of that play that still pisses me off is that the jets probably practiced that play hundreds of times. They called the play How in the world did 11 men not know immediatly that it was a live ball.
