If so, I need some help. I recently took up an interest in learning how to play but I cant get these damn tabs. Does anyone know any sites that teach you to read guitar music? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

not sure of any sites, but my friend takes guitar and he is pretty good and he learned it by watching a video. If you want I could ask him.

Tabs are easy .. I am a guitarist and I will tell you how to read tabs. The top most line is the high E string meaning the 6th string on the guitar. So the 2nd string is really the 5th string etc..etc... The number on the line is the Fret number so if the line looks like this:

-------5---------- 6th string E
-----------7------ B
---------------5-- G
---4-------------- D
1----------------- A
------------------- 1st String E

Need some more help, send me a PM and I will get even more indept with you. By the way, when you have 2 or more numbers directly under each other you play them at the same time:


------0----------- 6th string E
------0----------- B
------1----------- G
------2----------- D
------2----------- A
------0------------ 1st String E

That plays an E chord. Hope this helps.

I dont know any web sites off hand but if you go to your favorite music store and pick up a copy of " Mel Bays guitar chords" (if still available) it will show you much of what you want to know. It is written with the beginner in mind and takes you step by step through the learning curve. Most importantly just keep playing. No substitute for practice.

hehe i been playing bass guitar for 9 years, and guitar for 2 months haha

i was looking up online lessons, then a friend told me since i wa playing bass for so long, just grab tabs and learn songs.

i went from knowing part of 1 song in 2 weeks, to knowing about 6 songs in 3 days...
