SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:08 PM) Me and my wife stayed at the Mirage but we had a rental so we just came and went, we only went clubbing on the strip. I didn't gamble a penny in those casinos
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 02:09 PM) I knew something felt off I had a lot more fun at some salsa cantina spot that had a deal on coronas as opposed to any of the higher end bars in the casinos
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:09 PM) The strip sucks. Unless you work there, anyone who lives in vegas never actually goes there. It's like Times Square
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 02:10 PM) Yeah the clubs were nice but all the bull shit and bars surrounding the pathways of the casinos were all some bull shit
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:10 PM) I found a shit load of ill strip joints about 20 min away and was just chilling there
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 02:23 PM) When I lived in Tucson I used to go to Vegas every year for Interbike. Never really liked it. Not my thing. Rather be in the mountains or on the beach or golf course. the people force handing those flyers are crazy sometimes.

HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:44 PM) I hope the case drags on as long as it can...trying to minimize being at work as much as possible lol

HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:51 PM) I come from a very political family so I dropped that card thinking that they would excuse me
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 03:51 PM) I was called to jury duty in AZ after I moved to WI. When I said I moved to WI they said since I still had a AZ DL and owned a home there I had to come. So I said OK come get me nad bring me to the court house. (they are required in AZ to do so if requested). Needless to say I was excused.

azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 03:55 PM) I think in AZ it is enough for lunch or something
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:56 PM) $40 here in NYC
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:57 PM) per day

HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:50 PM) damn well should be
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:53 PM) Sounds like it may not be as bad with Goodson. I could see him ending up with a 4 game suspension for possession, the gun charges probably going to the other guy.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:44 PM) WHERE SHOULD I GET DINNER FROM
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:49 PM) i'd order a steak from idzik but he'd just give me a hamburger and try to pass it off as steak and when i cought him in the act he'd gie me a million dollars to make up for it

NEW YORK JETS

Do the Jets have a bona fide pass rusher to make their 3-4 defense dominant?

No. Despite making a playoff push last season, the Jets defense needs to improve its ability to get after the quarterback. The Jets lack a pure pass rusher off the edge and have to manufacture their rush with exotic pressure schemes. Bryan Thomas led the team with 8.5 sacks last season, but most of his production came during a five-game stretch near the end of the year. By not addressing OLB or DE in the draft or free agency, the team is gambling that Thomas can duplicate that production. The odds are against him, considering he only had 6.5 sacks in his four seasons prior to 2006.

This guy clearly doesn't know anything about the Jets, or he would see the sacks coming primarily towards the end of the season as a POSITIVE thing because Bryan and the rest of the squad got used to the scheme and played great D down the stretch. Why would the odds be against him to continue to play well? He is physically in his prime and got his first shot and being an everydown contributer last year, I expect him to play EVEN BETTER with the FA pickups and draft picks.

Also, although our FA aquisitions weren't Breaking News on ESPN or anything, Coleman was a solid 3-4 DE addition, as well as the flyers we took on guys like Wadsworth, Haynes and Bowens.

I'm sick of reading these "experts" never knowing what they're talking about. Articles will say things like KVO playing nose tackle for us.. Hobson playing ILB.. it boggles my mind how people who clearly don't watch all the games or know anything get paid to right articles.

I will concede that our pass rush wasn't great, and was something I hoped we addressed a little more. But if you are going to critique it, Bryan Thomas isn't the problem, its the D-Line and other available pass rushers. The Patriots top sack getter had drum roll please...... 8.5 sacks! The 3-4 is all about bringing pressure from different places. I expect Hobson, Vilma, Barton, Harris and Thomas to have better years and put better pressure on the QB.

Although the Jets improved the line, they are still lacking a big enough NT to get the job done. Robertson can't 2 gap, and he is a terrible run blocker, I'd expect teams to rush all over us this coming season. The D-line needs help, and until that happens no pass rusher is going to do anything.
...no hero in your tradgey, no daring in your escape, no salutes to your surrender, nothing noble in your fate....Rush, The Pass.

i know the Jets improved in the 2nd half of the season but have they really done anything about their upfront push? they picked up a lot of question marks so we will see.

Good post dude! iagree.gif
Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.

He's not totally off base. They really didn't add a pass rusher other than Bowens, who is situational at best. I liked that they got more sacks down the strech when they actually started blitzing last year, but they lost to NE in the playoffs primarily because they couldn't get to Brady. If Kenyon Coleman pans out, that will definitely help Hobson get more sacks. Still, I think the pass rush will be the weakness of the defense.

iagree.gif We only really put Brady under any pressure when we threw 6 or 7 man rushes at him but even then that allowed him to exploit the weaknesses created in the middle of the field by throwing every LB at the QB.
I don't see the pass rush being improved that much - Bowens isn't going to start because Barton was not traded away on draft day and we drafted ILB David Harris meaning it seems the FO is comfortable with Thomas and Hobson on the outside. Sure Bowens could be a 3rd down pass rush guy but for him to be effective then we need to get teams in more 3rd and long situations because a lot of the time we gave up big chunks of yardage against NE on 1st and 2nd downs because our pass rush was mediocre and they just threw on 1st and 2nd down.
Hobson is a solid LB but he doesn't have the speed needed to get around the edge which is why I'd have preferred they moved him inside and looked at acquiring a pass rusher in the draft (I'm not upset with the Harris pick though).
