That is true..but A-Rod is the total package...and I do not think a DH should ever win...well I mean ythey should..but not when the numbers are as close as they were...A-rod with Ortiz
Its the same with a CL getting the Cy Young

With the part about DH's never winning it. They are great hitters not great players.

You only said that because you hate the Yankees.

Na, it is understandable...becuase without Ortiz..the Sox woulda sucked...but heres what I looked at....without A-Rod the Yankees woulda sucked...Rivera too, but he didn't win the CY Young, and thats understandable..but a DH can only help on half the game, and A-Rod had 21 game winning RBIs, and probably 25 game winning dives at 3rd base
And it also must have something to do with that the Yankees won the division in the end

ok tell me when was ortiz and the sox 9 games out of 1st.and also 5 games back in mid september.
thats how they tell who the MVP is.
like this.2002 a-rod had a monster yera 1 of the best ever and tejeda won it because his team got hot late and won the div.just like the yankees did this year

The season was turned around when Giambi started Balcoing up and blasting performance enhanced home runs. If you take away A-Rod from the Yanks and you take away Ortiz from the Bosox, I think the Yankees would be much better and the Red Sox would be much worse.
I think A-Rod's prima donna attitude really hurts the Yankees in the clubhouse anyway. There really is no excuse for the team with the highest payroll in baseball by far to be 5 games out of first that late in the season to be honest.

giambi didnt take any shot this year.u said that because u hate them.
A-ROD and ortiz had the same kind of year.and a-rods team won the div.plus A-rod has to hit in yankee stadium ortiz hits in fenway that made a big dif in the vote for A-rod.plus a-rod can run the bases.ortiz could run the bases if he had a sandwitch wating for him at home.

Funny. Over a span of a week, Jason Giambi magically got bigger and immediatelu started blasting home runs. Oh even funnier, it was about the same time that the Yankees were talking about sending him down to Triple A. Nothing weird about that huh?
And did A-Rod's team win the division? Last time I checked, it was tied at the end of the season and according to the rulebook, regardless of head to head records, if the division or wildcard has a tie for first place after 162 games have been played there is to be a 1 game playoff to decide the winner. For example, if the Astros had lost the final game of the season, despite the fact that they were 6-0 against the Phillies, there would have been a 1 game playoff to decide the wildcard. Ofcourse though, it was not needed as the Astros won their final game. Major League baseball screwed the Red Sox.
My idea is that, the Red Sox would be terrible without Ortiz. Which is basically true. However, if the Yankees didn't have A-Rod, I think they would be better off.

But......The Yankees would have been terrible without Mariano Rivera.....how come he didn't win Cy Young??
Becuase hes a closer
A DH cannot win the MVP award unless his numbers are 2 times better than the next closest guys...Ortiz led in all the supcatagories(CTPIG%??), A-Rod led in all the important one(HRs, AVG, etcetc.)
And you cannot even count RBIs in this race..becuase I see right through that stat...and if you'd like to know why, just ask...cuz I can tell you

I at one time was suspicious of Jim Thome doing steroids, but I think that if he was on steroids, he would not have as much body fat as he does. Giambi however didn't get fatter he gained atleast 10-15 lbs of mass in a span of a week. That's not possible. In pictures of him at Minnesota that I saw, he didn't look significantly smaller than where he is now. He maybe put on a few cheeseburgers in the past couple years.

Cy Young award is different from the MVP award. The Cy Young is given to the best pitcher, not the most valuable. If the Cy Young was for the most valuable pitcher, then yes Rivera diserves it, but its for the best pitcher, and as good as Rivera was Colon was better.
Why cant a DH win the MVP award? Numbers shouldn't matter for this award. This award is for the most valuable player, not the best statistical player. Was A-Rod the best player? Yes he was. Did he have better stats? Yes he did. But was he more important for to the Yankees than David Ortiz was to the Red Sox? Not in my mind.

You cant gain that much mass in a week. Its not possible especially for athletes because they're running all the time and staying active. The amount of mass he gained would take anyone else 50-80 days. But Giambi got it in about a week. The same week that there were talks of him going down to Triple A.
