This Season Is A Wash...

I kind of think that Eric Mangini, et al, gave up on the season from day one, and is concentrating on a longer-term vision. The evidence is there, by the way the Jets are playing, and by the atrocious play-calling on both sides of the ball. I think the Mangini administration does have a long-term plan, but right now, the Jets just don't have the personnel to execute Mangini's vision. The Jets' defense stinks in every facet - let's face it. They have good players on defense, but they're not the right guys to execute the 3-4 properly. Mangini is going to stick to this system, however, because that's what his long-term vision is for this team. A nill amount of turnovers and pressure on opposing QBs proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Last season Mangini's Jets faced a cream-puff schedule and got lucky. They are still nowhere near the Patriots level. The fact that they lost to the lowly Bills due to Chad's weak arm and poor play calling is simply unacceptable.
On offense, Pennington can't throw the ball for more than 15 yards. The dink-and-dunk offensive system simply isn't effective anymore. The Jets acquired a talented running back in Thomas Jones, but they don't use him enough, which is a mystery to me.
As a Jets fan for 25+ years now, I'm simply tired of hearing, "wait until next season, when the Jets will be good." There've been too many "next seasons."
This season I'm simply going to enjoy time with my wife and children, enjoy the holidays, and pull for the Rangers.

you lost me at hello. How can you say he gave up since day one of the season? The first piece of evidence that he didn't give up from day one is the fact that Pennington is still our QB. I know people on this site will disagree, argue, yada yada yada but he is our starting QB and will be until the season is actually a wash.
AND OF COURSE MANGINI HAS A LONG TERM PLAN!!! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!
