Azjetfan is the nyjetsfan #1 pick
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 01:02 PM) Maybe a Tyrus Thompson?
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 01:22 PM) Phi a took Ajaji
Smedsthejet Icon : (02 May 2015 - 01:33 PM) Some depth on the line with the Harrison pick
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 01:43 PM) I read the scouting report for Harrison, the scout said he has probowl talent but has a work ethic concern.
santana Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:10 PM) Who the hell is Bryce petty
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:20 PM) Tom Pettys brother
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:22 PM) Jets should take Collins with one of their 7th rounders if there
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:22 PM) He has more upside for a 7th rounder than anyone else
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:22 PM) He can start right away at RT
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:29 PM) He said he won't sign
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:32 PM) so he doesn't want to be drafted?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:33 PM) If Collins doesn't get drafted, he can't enter next years draft. He can only if he is drafted and sits out. So I guess he has to go undrafted
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:41 PM) going undrafted makes the most sense for collins
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:41 PM) but for teams, drafting him and dealing with his holdout makes more sense
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:19 PM) Zac Stacy was traded to us for our 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:21 PM) Jets also drafted a NT with our other 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:21 PM) 6'4 330 DL who is very strong
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:25 PM) zac stacy for a 7th
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:25 PM) well can't complain about that
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:29 PM) So we have 4 rbs now
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:31 PM) still would have rather taken a runner on collins but i can't complain with depth
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:32 PM) i mean they can't expect to carry 4 rb though no?
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:50 PM) Collins would have been a waste. He would not have signed. At least we have something to show for our pick. Worst case scenario is we trade or release one of our backs.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:56 PM) I know it's hard to tell without seeing a win loss record yet but this regime seems really on point.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:56 PM) For the first time in my life I can say I feel comfortable with the people making the decisions.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:57 PM) I was close with Parcells but he seemed like a short term fixer and didn't care about the long term
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 06:57 PM) SUCK FOR THE DUCK
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 06:57 PM) .......oh wait
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 01:13 AM) Well that was a disappointment
Chadforpresi... Icon : (Yesterday, 01:24 AM) I like getting Stacy for our 7th rounder, assuming he can handle the fact he won't be a feature back (yikes)
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:31 AM) I like the trade, hes a quality back and adds more depth to our backfield
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:32 AM) Macc has pretty much killed it this offseason
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:32 AM) He has turned this roster around, he has added talent and competition all over.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:33 AM) We still aren't great at QB, but our overall football team is good. We have a realistic shot at making a playoff run
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:33 AM) We may have the best defense in football. We have a great DL and secondary, that is gonna be tough on offenses when you can stop the run, pressure the QB, and blanket the receivers
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:23 PM) ok now it's time for this team to take all this talent and do something anything below a 10-6 season will be a disappointment
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:24 PM) the only still glaring issue is QB
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) we got the WR problem solved, we got probably one of the best Defenses in the game and we have addressed the OL but QB will still be the glaring issue
Chaos Icon : (Today, 09:34 AM) jets cleaning house
azjetfan Icon : (Today, 05:57 PM) I'm excited about this year. Could be a good year for the Jets.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Today, 07:32 PM) weird how they cleaned house in the scouting department after such a successful draft and off-season so far
azjetfan Icon : (Today, 07:36 PM) I assume they didn't bring much to the table
santana Icon : (Today, 08:41 PM) Have to clean the table
santana Icon : (Today, 09:08 PM) Fuck the rangers
santana Icon : (Today, 09:08 PM) face off dominated holtby gtfo

the PS2 joysticks suck to be honest. and online is used on dial up creating too much lag and most games don't have voice chat while you play. xbox requires a minimum of DSL and has voice plus online stat tracking/ leagues/ and tournaments. its a whole online community where u can chat and send messages etc.

GAME ON | LANGSTON WERTZ JR.

Xbox 360 loaded with glitz

Last week, Microsoft unveiled its Microsoft 360 machine on an MTV special, just days before Sony released details on PlayStation 3.
Nintendo should be dropping details on its new next-gen console soon so gamers can start saving their pennies -- or writing really, really nice notes to Santa.
Microsoft will get the jump on its competition when it delivers its new unit for the holiday season. This week we'll discuss Xbox 360. Next week, we'll cover the new Sony unit, due out early in 2006.
Microsoft's new toy creates game graphics that make today's games look like Pong or the original Sega Genesis games. The realism is amazing, and opponents of violent video games will now confront a new series of Grand Theft Auto titles that look more like real life than before.
Xbox 360 will have what Bill Gates' folks are calling the "greatest game lineup in the history of video games when it launches in North America, Europe and Japan this Christmas holiday." Those include: 2K Sports' NBA 2K6; Activision's Call Of Duty 2; and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, plus EA Sports Madden NFL 06 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06.
The machine features a wireless controller and an array of interchangeable faceplates that let gamers personalize their consoles.
Every 360 game is designed for HDTV widescreen displays but will work with standard televisions as well. I won't bore you with tech specs. Just know that the 360 is more powerful than most any home computer and features software that Microsoft claims remembers what gamers have achieved in different games.
Connect Xbox 360 to a broadband connection and get instant access to Xbox Live Silver, available for no monthly service charge. Players can connect with friends through voice chat; send and receive text messages; and download demos and trailers to an included detachable hard drive -- along with new game levels, maps, weapons, vehicles, skins, classic arcade and card and board games. If you subscribe to the premium Xbox Live Gold service, you also get multiplayer game play and Gamer Profiles that allow players of similar skill levels and interests to quickly and easily connect.
A new camera will let gamers add their faces into games and see their friends while they play. Other Xbox Live Gold features for premium members include video messaging; online tournaments and ladders; and exclusive, original programming such as playing with celebrities online or joining sponsored tournaments to win prizes.

QUOTE (Jetsfan115 @ May 19 2005, 04:32 PM)
Also what makes a good game is opinion but in my opinion its just flat out something fun to play.

see now thats exactly what i'm asking
what makes a game "fun to play, good, sell" (not so much sell)?

now you said something challenging but still beatable.
well that can be most any game if you turn the difficulty up or down

maybe im making this too broad for you guys.
how about this

what makes an individual genres good?

for instance:
RPG's are good when they take up to so many hours to complete
or
FPS games are good when they have high replay-ability

so let's hear it now
preferably someone besides just me and jetfan115 should speak up
and then jetfan115 dont tell them their opinion sucks as soon as they do tongue.gif

I think were the only 2 stuck on this topic.

Anyway the appeal of the genre is simple

RPG- good because some make you use your mind, lots to do. Lots of hours to beat them. Aloows you to decide how your character is and how the story progresses.

FPS- good for xbox live play. I’m not big on the genre so I don’t see the appeal in the story modes

Sports- simple. Play with your friends or online. Never beat it. All diff types

Action. Quick reflexes and master the fighting system. Fun to play but little replay value and usually short or repetitive.

I guess that’s what your looking for

Did u read the xbox360 specs?

And as far as the selling to good thing here is proof

Brittany spears is a horrible singer but has sold way more then singers 10x better so like I said being popular and being good are 2 different things.

great specs jetfan115!
now before we go proclaiming them as the uber master general of all games, i think we should wait for the specs of the other systems
i especially like the 9 billion dot product operations per second
dot products represent matricies
matricies represent joints such as an elbow knee or any kind of mechanical object in motion
i also like the floating point performance
1 teraflop! holy shit!
again an explaination
floating points represent decimals on an equation
with a teraflop of power behind it there should be seamless graphics; not a polygon out of place anywhere more than (without doing any math) .00000000000000000000000000000001 of a unit on a grid
i also like their hyper-thread technology for the three cores
i am worried about their progressive scanning capapbilities (slow load times)
and their sound sounds only at par

see sports for me is the realism of the game.
if it plays the way it is seen in real life then that sport game has achieved its goal
dont forgte fighting games
for them its replay replay replay
they can get away with a weak story (guilty gear) as long as you can keep beating the tar out of your friends
action is a tough one cause its a big genre
challenging reflexes is usually good but what about splinter cell? not exactly a reflex game
racing is what kills me though
and it's what makes me think twice about a lot of games and what makes them fun
you can have games like nascar thunder, irl gt4, etcetera that are realistic too the core
but then also have games like mario kart and f-zero (sorry for the strickly nintendo reference) that aren't anywhere near real
and you can have a blast on both
....stupid racing

The specs of the PS3 were already posted. The only ones missing are nintendos. By there pure specs the xbox looks like its blowing out the PS3 plus if u read my other post I had an IT manager and a computer programmer both tell me the xbox360 is way better and they can get me one before it comes out. Also for 70buck you can get your xbox modded with a bigger harddrive and 80+ games on it. A great price. U just can’t use it on xbox live then because they will track it and your ability to burn games to it. Then you get a gamefly subscription and rent then burn all the new games you want. The xbox is such a great machine but gets no respect. It’s the curtis martin of the industry.

xbox is not the curtis martin of the industry
xbox was the intruder and got a lot of shit from many gamers because they thought "microsoft has no place in this industry"
rightfully so
they never made any software or hardware for gaming before-hand
they were the snot-nosed little kids of the industry
nowadays they are not completely accepted (and never will be) but xbox has come a long way in tolerance from the other companies
xbox is the...lav coles of gaming.
puched around "you cant do jack shit in the nfl" kinda thing, then proved himself as an elite receiver

Everyone new coles would be a good receiver. It was off the filed problems that dropped him to the third. Otherwise he would have been a first rounder. There is nothing wrong with MS wanting to branch out and revolutionalize an industry. Xbox live was huge. If xbox didn’t come out we still wouldn’t have anything like it. And you know it. A lot of companies do it. They introduced a whole new system and it was the best one period. There were only 3 console companies out there. Sony, Nintendo and sega. And FYI sony did the same thing with PS1 and sega with gensys. First it was Atari only. Then Nintendo jumped in and ran them out. Then it was just Nintendo then sega jumped in then they battled for a while then sony jumped in and sega got ran out after dreamcast then MS jumped in now. Its just history repeating itself. And revolution. Is it wasn’t for the competition systems wouldn’t be as good as they are and you know it.

they way the specs read it should be a great competition
in lamense terms:
xbox is fat with a high top-end speed
ps3 is sleek and streamlined

xbox definitely has a superior processor that is a glaring void left by sony
ps3 has more polygonial power and precision with twice the floating point speed as the 360

in my opinion both would be a fantastic investment
these specs are incredible! i can't wait to play games on them

here's my problem with xbox
it's too much like a computer
what's to stop anyone from buying a computer with the same specs and then getting more bang for their buck?

here's my beef with ps3
it doesnt seem like they didnt go all out like they should have
i can't put my finger on it but something about them seems lazy
if they're not careful they may find themselves on the bottom of the console totem pole

revolution
TBD

there's absolutely nothing wrong with what xbox did
but i just can't forsee history repeating itself on nintendo
it looks like they are running along with sony and microsoft
they should have a machine just as powerful as both of them
of course there is an industry outside of america
and Japan loves nintendo still
they dont even know what an xbox is there hahaha (not really)

if it wasnt for the competition revolution wouldnt be as good you say?
true.
your point?
all that matters is the facts

Because a PC is more expensive then an Xbox so it wouldn’t be more bang and the xbox doesn’t require anything else. Its first and foremost a game console. Plus xbox only games seem to be my favorites like ninja gaiden and jade empire. Damn I love jade empire. I’m soooo hooked on it right now. U got to play it if u like RPGs or even if u don’t

I know Sony and Nintendo are way bigger in japan. But you forgetting if you look at the sales margin of systems it was 2 PS2s to 1Xbox to .25 CG

Starting after all machines were on the market 6 months. Xbox took a big chunk of son’ys margin and cut it lower each month. Not bad for an introductory system. CG couldn’t even compete in sales with the other 2.

ahh but if you buy a computer and an xbox is it still cheaper? not likely
unless you've got awesome hardware hook-ups. and if so. can i be your friend.
but you're right with the reason of xbox only game

i've heard nothing but good things from jade empire. if i can find someone who has it ill play it just for you.

Good thing we had this topic. Nobody else is posting about anything else. Even though this is the slowest time of the football year. Most people have PCs already. I Don’t need to upgrade. I just need it for I-net photo editing and music purposes and mine does it fine. Not bad 2.0GHz 512ram 40GB hard drive. Its funny my game system will be more powerfull then my PC. Lol.
