Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:25 PM) noway he would have been drafted before RGIII
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:00 PM) Tehhhh
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:12 PM) chuck norris said tebow is a great QB. i'm so conflicted becuase tebow sucks but on the other hand if chuck norris said it, it must be true lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) Geno was not the favorite to win the heisman going into the year lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) you don't watch college football, stop
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:23 PM) He might not even of been in the second tier of players
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) That's from a Jan 2012 article
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) You can google shit from 14 months ago and find a f*** ton of these

SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:32 PM) He was 4th according to Vegas odds in April 2012
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) 4th makes him the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) you said he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) at that point he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:56 PM) also, what a basketball game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) 4 point game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) maybe the pacers are that good
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) I said that his time last year, he was the favorite. I misspoke. He was 3rd or 4th. He certainly wasn't "not even in the 2nd tier" like you claimed
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Take your medicine Matty
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Maybe you should watch more college football instead of talking about watching college football
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:46 AM) No he wasn't 3rd or 4th
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:47 AM) He was the 4th favorite in vegas, making him no where near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:47 AM) Barkley had 3/2 odds, Geno was 9-1
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:48 AM) It's whatever
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 10:50 AM) Manish leaving jets beat
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 10:51 AM) About time
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 11:22 AM) Was he "not even in the 2nd tier"? No. STFU
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:25 AM) Was he the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:26 AM) Or even close to the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:27 AM) Nice Manish leaving? Good shit
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 11:43 AM) SHJ, your boy EJ leads a very sad life
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:57 AM) haha why do you say that
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 12:03 PM) I'm friends with SHJ on Facebook and I replied "TEH KNICKS" then EJ recognized my name and started commenting saying shit
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 12:04 PM) He then goes "yeah and f*** the Knicks" I wanted to tell him he doesn't know what that joke is because he's banned
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:05 PM) haha

Yeah .. Jeremy Hermida hit a grand slam on his first at bat. He is only the second player to ever do it and the last guy did it like 107 years ago. Pretty good considering he was called up from the minors 3 hours before the game.

Anyway, I went to middle school with this kid. I must say I was quite impressed with how he turned out. There were alot of kids that were really good baseball players, it seems like Marietta just turns them out. But, I didn't like him at the time. He was a smug piece of *beep* and I stole his watch for like 2 days ... LOL! Plus he went out with this girl I liked alot. Pissed me off.

However, for some reason I am extremely proud of how he turned out. He is probably still an assh0le but that usually doesn't change and comes from bad parenting. He was also drafted pretty high ... like the 11th overall pick. I think he was taking steroids. 6-4 200LBs, 21 years old. That's pretty big man.

Oh well kudos to him on his place in MLB history. I hope he ends up being a real deal player. BTW, Jay Mariotti on PTI -- which is how I found out about this -- called him Jeremy Herm-I-da and they had his pic up there. I was like, "No Jay! Holyshit it's Herm-E-da. WTF?!?!" It was funny.

I dont watch baseball unless it's Red Sox vs Yankees for the ALCS. The only game worth watching. I love the Red Sox and I hate the Yankees, go figure cause I hate the Pats and love the Jets. Anyway, yeah it's quite strange to see people you know playing professional sports and making HUGE headlines. It's almost in a way frightening. Time's running out for me to make something of myself wink.gif

That's cool, if I see him maybe I'll steal his watch or wristband too. And if I ever have a girlfriend at the age I do it, I'll make sure she isn't around wink.gif
But in 10 years, you can all say you know either Mariano Rivera's successor or Derek Jeter's succesor, and that he was also a little mofo, over the internet. hysterical.gif
BTW, a Red Sox fan?

I also love football and hate baseball. It's such a pointless sport these days. It's filled with dishonest players, all breaking the illegal substance rules, all trying to cheat anyway they can.

Football has also had it's share of steroid users... but atleast it's banned people for them as well. The attitude isn't the same either. Football is a game filled with honor. Baseball is filled with dishonor. Football is exciting. Baseball is boring.

The only reason I even follow it -- and trust me it's a very small amount of following -- is because I wanna see a possible fight between the Red Sox and Yankees. Now that's what sports SHOULD be like. These days, especially in basketball, everyone is eachother's friend. Well you wouldn't say that about NY vs BOS. Those guys have HATRED for eachother -- on the field mostly I hope, otherwise it's just pathetic -- and that's how it should be.

My team vs Your team... it used to be that way in sports but all you have these days are 1 team in each sport that hate eachother cause they meet all the time in the postseason. Only football has rivalries still in abundance. MIA vs Jets. Giants vs Jets. Raiders vs Jets. Pats vs Jets. Soon it's gonna be SD vs Jets cause those guys are sick of getting their asses handed to them. That's just the Jets rivalries. There are other's that are very heated. Like Vikes vs Packs. Colts vs Pats is getting pretty good. You see what I am saying. In the NFL, anyone in your way is your enemy. It doesn't seem like that in other sports... except obviously boxing.

cool topic but i'm gonna move it to the other sports forum cause its more of a baseball topic then anything else. i wen to scholl with one kid who was given a 250,000 contract right out of high school from the royals. i forgot his name. but this kid would hit homeruns that would land on top of the roof of our school and nobody else on the team could nor oposing teams players

Yes, baseball is one boring game as a spectator, football isn't, but it's fun to play both if you're in an orgainized game. But even in an unorgainized game, football is still fun. beach.gif I mean hell, I've never played an orgainized game, the closest has been in school.

Good sense of humor... however, I do actually like Derek Jeter. I think he is a pretty classy guy. He is the only guy on the Yankees that I can tolerate. I actually love watching him play against the Red Sox. He is soooo soooo clutch. It really is fun. However you have to pick a team and like I said I hate the Yankees. I dont like anything about them except Jeter. I like EVERYTHING about the Red Sox. They have chemistry. They call themselves "The Idiots". I think they all had mullets and beards at one point. Where one goes, all goes. You can hate them all you want, but you can't deny that they are a great "team" and they have much more camaraderie than the Yankees. You can't deny that.

I just sent an e-mail to Jeter, I hope he responds, when I did it he had recently answered some other e-mails.
But for you Jets0n, I'll take a disliking to this guy. good.gif

Yea, I love fights between us two(Yankees/Sox), I'm a Yankees fan and thats what I look forward to everytime we play. And baseball is a boring, and I have to say, in the 9 years I followed baseball, I've watched the most this year then in anyother year. Outta a possible 1197 innings the Yankees have played this year, I musta watched 1100 of them, I seen almost everygame. Its probly because the Yankees are behind right now, so everygame matter, I've never been in that situation before.......
But I do gotta say baseball was my first love, I started watching it in 1996, when i was 7, and started watching football with my dad in 1997, so I'm about 51%- 49% Jets-Yankees with my love right now, cuz I got to see the Yanks win 4, now I wanna see the Jets win 1

also on School people going pro, i went to the same schools as Will Smith(the NFL player) and Josh Wright(Syracuse Orangemen)

Right on. I dont think it's even a doubt though that the Yankees and the Sox are gonna meet in the ALCS again. I think however that the Sox will have home field this year which should make this series a little more interesting.

You know what was pathetic though, last year when the Sox won it all and they were partying in the streets -- heck riotting for that matter -- and the police shot that girl in the eye with one of those rubber bullets and killed her? That was pointless. What a pointless reason to die.

Another kid I played football with plays OLB for Middle Tenessee State. He will probably get drafted cause he runs a 4.4 and he is HUGE. He is MOST DEF on steroids. His name is Dennis Burke. 6-1 242LBs. Wears #40. He stole my football locker and I almost kicked his ass for that. He also was a b!tch.

This is what their official website says of him:

QUOTE (http://www.goblueraiders.com/?go=player&id=1639)
Enjoyed a very solid spring ... Is one of the team's leaders and needs to step up and challenge this season to be one of the best linebackers in the Sun Belt Conference ... Possesses good instincts and ability to find the football ... Is very savvy ... One of three players to earn the inaugural Thunderbolt award (toughness) following spring practice.
