Jets 0-2 vs bills this year. Does Rex Ryan survive the year?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:55 AM) Like how do you get blown out by a team that didn't practice while you had 2 weeks to prepare?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:55 AM) That kind of stuff may force Woody to make the big changes and fire everyone
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:55 AM) John Idzik has handled the QB situation terribly. 2 times he pretty much handed the job to his draft pick
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:56 AM) Besides Sheldon Richardson, his drafts have been awful.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:57 AM) Maybe Woody will clean house and go all out for Jim Harbaugh, that probably won't happen though but it would be a franchise changer.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:07 AM) Harbaugh would be amazing...but because it makes sense it won't be done
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:51 AM) According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets blocked coach Rex Ryan from talking to Mehta about a bye-week visit to his ailing father, legendary NFL defensive guru Buddy Ryan. Buddy, who rose to prominence as defensive coordinator of the ’85 Bears and then coached the Eagles and Cardinals, is battling cancer.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:52 AM) Mehta interprets the muzzling of Rex Ryan as proof positive that, once the season ends, Ryan will no longer be the team’s head coach. Apparently, the team fears that Rex would become more sympathetic in the eyes of the fan base if he’s dumped by the team at a time when his father is fighting a serious illness.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 11:05 AM) Mehta is an idiot
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 11:25 AM) If colt McCoy lights it up do the jets make a move?
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:27 AM) I don't even care what they do for a while
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:28 AM) The team is a catastrophe
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 11:29 AM) I didn't see the game
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 11:29 AM) I remember the first bills game though I'm guessing it was like that with more sleeping in the end zone
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:32 AM) I'm with 0099...I hope they keep getting destroyed
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 11:33 AM) it's a very Jets-esque move to sign McCoy if he does well
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:53 AM) I think they sign RGIII, Cutler, or Bradford
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:10 PM) why not all three
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:11 PM) Knowing this team, I wouldn't put that past them
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:07 PM) RAUL FOR QB
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 02:10 PM) the only real choice
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 02:10 PM) almost uefa time
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) RAUL>SMITHSIAH, JUST ACCEPT IT
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:22 PM) FIRE IZDICK
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 04:07 PM) Rocking the atletico kit today 4-0 THE RAUL INFLUENCE
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:15 PM) Haha you should make that into some kind of logo and put it in your sig

HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 02:04 AM) TEH POINT
Chaos Icon : (Today, 11:14 AM) happy thanksgiving everyone!
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Today, 04:53 PM) I hope Dirty Sanchez gets beat by the Cowgirls even though I would prefer to see a tie so neither team wins
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 05:00 PM) Look at what a great system can do for a QB, Sanchez looks like a different QB with the Eagles.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 05:00 PM) Scanning the field and making quick decisions, I like how Chip has Sanchez throwing on the run which he was always great at.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 05:01 PM) I really hope we finally bring in a good offensive minded coach.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 05:45 PM) I really can't wait for this season to be done and over with

He's most likely a free agent this offseason...what would you guys think of bringing him if he came relatively cheap?

I don't think it would be the best idea ever...he is small like Vilma...and two small ILB's in the 3-4 sounds like a bad idea to me. Perhaps Vilma could learn a thing or two about shedding blocks at such a small size. But eh...I think Vilma will be fine.

I'd personally rather move Hobson inside as many on this board have mentioned...and go after one of the pass rushing OLB's in the second round. Barton can be traded to a 4-3 team like the Jaguars, Eagles, or Rams. All 3 have deep playoff aspirations and I'm sure would love to add a veteran to their weakened OLB'ers.

He's a pro-bowl MLB in 2003 who has had great success in 3-4 not to mention speed that we desperately need and some veteran leadership.......But most importantly he is a huge upgrade over kassell and barton......I would actually rather have him over A Thomas....So yea im all for him joing the JETS

This is old news. I brought this up during the season. I think he's an all world LB but he's undersized similar to Vilma. IMO we need to get bigger and nastier up front. Donnie is more of a coverage LB then anything else. He used to play in space. We need some dogs upfront and no disrespect to Donnie but he gets to reap the rewards of having a great N.T and a damn good supporting cast that has been implemented in a 3-4 for a few years now. it doesn't mean he would be as productive here as he would in S.D. Just my 2 cents.

we are in a youth movement. we do not need a 34 year old linebacker. plus, i agree with whats been said. nothing is going to make a difference without a proper 3-4 line which means gettin a huge, effective nose tackle. and as a former pro bowler and someone whos been in the league so long and is still performing at a relatively high level, he is going to want A LOT of money.

this guy is right on the money. we are a young team which is one main reason why we do not want to sign adalius thomas this offseason. he just wouldn't fit in with the youth movement we started last season. also, hes not even that good anymore, and with his age, his production must be on the downslide. we are talking about getting rid of eric barton who will be 30 this season. no way we can use edwards who is much older than that.

the only way i think we should bring him in is if his contract is favorable, meaning if hes unproductive (which i highly doubt) we can cut him next season without taking much of a cap hit...................i do agree with you guys that this team is in a youth movement and should keep that going but with that said if there is one huge flaw in the D besides NT its that we dont have a wily vet that brings leadership with his play and voice in the locker room..and there is only a few positions that we can fix in free agency..... as there is no NT that can match the success or bring the upside that this guy could bring to the team.....i know alot of people think SANDs is the man but as i was well schooled on by people on this site size is not what makes a NT and he has never played in the 3-4 before ......Kimo is a vet but he certainly doesnt show it on the field....Edwards is a guy that has had great success before he met Jamal williams as he was a pro-bowler with the chiefs in 03' and in the 3-4...and his biggest attribute on this team could be the mentoring of Vilma....we know Vilma is frustrated in the 3-4 but this guy could show vilma the nuances of being a great 3-4 mlb....as great as ray lewis is he struggled mightily in the 3-4 and was never half the player he was in the 4-3 because he gave up on it and whinned until they reverted back to the 4-3.....It would be a very wise investment IMO to team vilma up with somebody who has had tremendous experience and success with it.....not to mention that we will get younger anyway at OLB in this years draft and eventually going to get rid of barton this year or next so Edwards "knowledge" of the 3-4 and MLB could be invaluable..........we can all agree that mangini is going to be the HC here for a very long time which means so will the 3-4 defense and it would be ashame if Vilma could not reach the potential of being the best MLB in the game which i think he has because he doesnt know the nuances of the system and decides to leave for a team that employs a system that is better suited for his style of play.....signing Edwards wouldnt be bringing in just another "old guy" but a player who still has pro-bowl ability and could help Vilma be twice the player he is now....if you ask me he is worth every cent he wants in that aspect alone..............not to mention he is 1000000000000000 times better than kassell LOL..........but really you cant expect a time full of young guys to be successfull in a new system especially without 2-3 guys who can be a mentor and play well in it

because he's one of the best whose doing it right now in the 3-4, can teach vilma, be a leader and is aging like a fine wine..

his career is over. he slipped this year. i watch all the chargers games (since i live in SD) and donnie was not the same player he used to be. he is declining. if we signed him he'd be average at best. at this point barton is better. u guy seem to forget how good barton is

Hobson was very good at the end of the year and I know it's been said a hundred times, but Hobson should move inside. He is a good tackler, which ILBs need to be to stop the run. Edwards is gonna be 34 when TC starts and Hobson is gonna be 27 and Hobson will be much cheaper. I'd pass on Edwards personally.

I think it would be a good move, hes a beast and great LB, screw size u want to talk about size talk about Sam Mills, smallest LB but best when he played. So get this undersized bs off here.

2ndly we have grassy turf so he doesnt have to worry about his allergies to grass crazy.gif
