I don't remember which commentator it was, but last night either on ESPN or NBC, one of the commentators mentioned how Jenkins is a huge part of what's happening with this team and that he should be in consideration for Defensive Player of the Year & quite possibly the MVP of the league. It may have been Collinsworth, but I'm not sure. Did anyone else happen to catch that?

I'm not so sure of MVP, but given his play this year & the profound impact his presense has made on this Defense, I'd agree that he should be considered for DPOY. His stats may not be that great, but the all around impact aplayer has on his own defense should be taken into heavy consideration.

No doubt he should be team MVP. When he's not in the game, the opposition used to rip through us. He is without a doubt the driving force behind the Defense this year as far as I'm concerned.

While he may not have the big numbers as some others in consideration for DPOY, the transformation of the run D shows what an impact he has on the field. For sure he's the Defensive MVP for us, and should make the Pro Bowl with Haynesworth as the DT's for the AFC.

Only QBs and RBs become MVPs of the League, 1971 was the only time that a DT was named MVP.

I've thought about that. Who is gonna tackle that guy? My only worry would be him holding onto the ball.

I think Jenkins is a strong candidate for DPOY and eventually will win it but as far as MVP, the name Drew Brees is already engraved in that shit.

The think about Favre is not the throws, its the intangibles he has added to the locker room and also that swagger of being able to do anything and keeping his composure..and it has rubbed on the rest of the team....guys were winning games...BIG games....since when do the Jets do that?! Since Favre thats when.
