santana Icon : (Yesterday, 11:59 PM) yeah but hes white and a patriot
santana Icon : (Today, 12:00 AM) goodell is busy banning handbags from stadiums
santana Icon : (Today, 12:00 AM) this country is priming its self for a massive protest this handbag shit is retarded
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) They are so f***ing stupid
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) Like people need more reasons to stay at home for the game
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) Honestly, at this point, the only way I'd go to an NFL game was A. Free tickets B. Tickets were close enough to the field that I felt like I could heckle a player and be heard
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) its not stupid its actually genius
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) the problem is i know for sure the evil genius behind it is dan snyder and other owners pushing for this shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) they want their new stadiums to inhale your money from the minute you enter its zipcode
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Genius in the sense that you force people to spend more money
santana Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) right
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Baseball stadiums started doing this since right after 9/11
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) I used to go to Mets games as a kid with a subway hero
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Now I gotta drop $30 for a burger with fries
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) You know what I do? Not go to the fuckin games LOL
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) And it's not just me because the Mets suck, Yankees can't sell out anymore at all
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Shit, even Mets vs Yankees wasn't sold out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) That never happened in the 90s
santana Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) ghetto fries
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) whats amusing is at nationals stadium the staff is the worst
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) they don't give a shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) specially sunday morning
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) How so?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) Do they make you watch the Nationals?
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) every time they handed me my food or what not then i had to go to the register to pay i just walked away because the queue was too long
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) people running the registers just go super slow
santana Icon : (Today, 12:07 AM) no one there is in charge of making sure the customers are following the process
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Wait, you pay after you get your food?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) How does that even work?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Everywhere you pay when you place your order
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) well its decided getting some booze tomorrow afternoon and drinking every time i head lebron's head band referenced
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) like i said the concession stands are a mess
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) You might die
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) there were multiple people behind the counter
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so you could just go up to it and ask for what you wanted and 1 out of the 5 people would be on a single register
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so eventually you were just handed your food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) expecting for someone to approach the register you were standing infront to charge you
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) or you were led to believe maybe you had to go line up to the one that had a cashier with people already waiting on it
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) so a lot of the times when i was just handed the food i requested i would stand there look around see them go back to being distracted on their boost mobile phones or whatever reason and walked away
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) i got 6 pretzels like this for the group i was with and 3 hot dogs
santana Icon : (Today, 12:15 AM) my ticket one time had like 5$ towards concessions or what not their scanner wasnt working at the register so it wasnt reading it right or she didnt know what she was doing. she tried to scan it 3 times then litterally just turned away so i was standing there asking if it was all good no one answered so i just walked away with the food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:18 AM) probably doesn't help that they are hiring people from one of the worst parts of dc
santana Icon : (Today, 12:19 AM) in fact all the stadiums in dc are in very low income areas probably to exploit this work force
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:31 AM) No stadiums are in low income areas because that's how they get municipal bonds to finance construction. "Look, we're giving black people jobs! Pay for our stadium!!!"
santana Icon : (Today, 12:32 AM) right

I have my local FFl draft at two today, so I'll be posting the results either early tomorrow (dark outside early) or midday. There is a poker tournament afterwards, so who knows when things will wrap up. I also have an on-line draft tomorrow, so even I might be worn out of FF by the end of the weekend.

Anyways, I have Willis McGahee (yes, of the Bills) as my keeper and I have the first pick in the draft, which I am planning on using on Kevin Jones. After that, who knows?

Wish me luck (as if anyone reads this board, but still).

KEvin Jones? Yes he's good but don't you think you could do better? In fantasy you should always have at least one dominant player, preferably a QB but a RB is probably best. Kevin Jones may not have the receiving yards necessary to be a dominant fantasy running back. The Lions have too many good receivers for me to foresee Jones getting alot of catches.
I changed my name, but I dont remember what it was... if anyone remembers please let me know.

sit on jones. who knows, he might slip to your second pick (probably not) LT is the hands down first pick for me and most of the people i know. jones wont have the recieving yards LT is gonna have and the rushing yards and tds will be somewhere close with LT having a little more of each. you can't go wrong with him.

Guys..it's a keeper league, meaning someone already has LT and therefore a player of kevin jones' caliber is going to be a solid pick with the first of the draft. Good luck a1!

Yeah, LT was kept, so I didn't really get a shot at him. But thanks for the ideas...

Anyway, here is my team, in order that I drafted it. The format is 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1flex(RB or WR), K, Def, TEs count as WRs. I had the first pick, so after the initial player I was choosing two at a time:

Keeper-Willis McGahee
1-Kevin Jones
2-Curtis Martin
3-JJ Arrington
4-Marc Bulger
5-Jimmy Smith
6-Lee Evans
7-Deion Branch
8-Mushin Muhammad
9-Santana Moss
10-Matt Stover
11-Lions Def/KR
12-Paul Edinger
13-Steve McNair
14-Jaguars Defense/KR

Curtis Martin fell all the way down the board to me with the 19th pick, which means 28 players were gone before him. He was the 19th RB taken and, get this, I was actually laughed at for taking him! The league's leading rusher, and only two of the other owners though I got a steal.

Bulger was the third highest scoring QB in our league last year, but I got him after eight others were off the board. I wasn't going to take a QB because my league usually lets a really good one fall into the late rounds (last year I had Plummer and Leftwich, both of whom outperformed a lot of other owners' starter), but I couldn't pass on a guy who could finish the season as the top QB.

My plan is to start McGahee, Jones, and Martin every week and move receivers around as necessary. But I really like Smith and Evans, and the other three guys are all starters who could have good games through out the year.

All in all I got better than I thought I would. No way did I think I could get Martin as my third back, nor did I think I would land Bulger after the 3rd round. I personally think I am one of the elite teams in the league, but we'll have to see. What do you all say?

a1 you're a savvy drafter. You don't go for names which shows an obvious wealth of football knowledge. i think your team is very good, but we dont know the rest of your league so that is all relative. Not that you need it but here's my advice... stay on top of your FA and look for a steal there. All my leagues are won because I was smart enough to pick up a surprise stud after a few weeks.

The other good teams in the league are:

P.Holmes
C.Dillion
FTaylor
TJDuckett

JWalker
RWayne
CChambers
TJHoshmanzadeh
DStallworth

TBrady
DBrees

JReed
LTynes

DBennett
TWilliamson
JMcCareins

CPalmer
BLeftwich

JWilkers
Kasay

CowboysD
BengalsD

AGreen
DMcAllister
LJordan
CBenson

SSmith
JPorter
IBruce
KMcCardell
DPatten

BFavre
DCarr

AVinatieri
MVanderjagt

PatriotsD
VikingsD

JLewis
EJames
MBennett
THenry

JHorn
LColes
DDriver
EMoulds
MRobinson

KCollins
JPlummer

SJanikowski
NRackers

EaglesD
ChargersD

The other five teams aren't all that bad, but the owners made some bad mistakes. One team took Gates as it's number one receiver, one took TO as it's number one and then waited until all other teams had four RBs to draft his reserves so he wound up with Faulk and Ricky Williams. The other three just have really questionable RBs that are either really injury prone, are set to split carries with another good back, or are already back ups. My favorite is the second team. If Bell gets the majority of the carries he has a great set of backs and receivers.

I tried to draft really solid, reliable guys this year. I got away from that in the last one and my whole team bombed from the start.

team #2 if definately the favorite IMO in that group. Strong team top to bottom sans the D. The Bengals and the Cowboys are not very good at all for a D. Maybe he'll get lucky or make a trade to improve that area. I think you can hold your own until the end where if you're doing a playoff you can win by simply having a few good weeks in a row.

Yeah, he is a Cowboys and Bengals fan. Plus he drafted them after about a dozen Defs were off the board so he didn't really have a lot to choose from.

On a unrelated note, I was supposed to be in a FoxFantasy draft right now and I couldn't get into the draft room, just kept saying it couldn't load. I know at least some of the other owners could get in, so I'm not sure what the problem was. The whole site was down for almost a week earlier, so I am washing my hands with Foxfantasy.

You're only slight weakness is probably in the WR department where you failed to get a top 10 wide-out imo..but since you start 3 RB's, you should be fine. I might have taken a WR where you took JJ, otherwise solid draft.

Yeah, I sacrificed starting receiver quality for being able to start three RBs every game. I didn't want to end up with an iffy 4th back as I was commited to the RB flex position.

Still, I really like the depth of my receivers. I think I have better 3rd-5th receivers than several of the other teams. Also, I really like Smith and the Jags offense this year, so he was by far my favorite receiver at that point. I almost got Steve Smith, but he was taken one spot before me.

I was worried I might catch some gruff for having so many Patriots and Bills on my team, whew!

I'll take Bills or Pats, but there sure as heck aren't going to be any Dolphins on my team...and not just because they aren't worth drafting.

Good luck with that draft, $500! Wow.
