Jetsfan115 Icon : (27 August 2014 - 05:43 PM) injuries and poor QB play aren't good for a WR to develop
Jetsman05 Icon : (27 August 2014 - 06:08 PM) 115 and Hill. Lol!
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (27 August 2014 - 10:18 PM) the excuses, Hill is just a terrible football player. no debate, just a fact. guy is soft as shit as well
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:43 AM) right cause all our other WRs were lighting it up
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 07:04 PM) Hill is useless bro lol
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:05 PM) All I can say I streamed this game and if anyone thinks about recording it from NFL Network at 4pm Eastern Saturday.....DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:07 PM) This game was pure sh1t. Even though it was back up players the Jets got totally destroyed in this game. After seeing this game Im really worried about the Jets starting core because these backup guys looked like they shouldn't have even been on the field at all. I just hope the starters are 3000 times better than these guys that played in game 4
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:09 PM) The Jets got horse f*cked by the Eagles in this game.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:24 PM) we are hosed in the secondary
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:26 PM) we need to cut this assclown patterson
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:34 PM) did Hill get cut yet?
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:36 PM) lol. We might need to look at the Eagles cuts for possible 2nd and 3rd stringers
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:36 PM) If they keep ZHill after this game I will be shocked.
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:38 PM) Philly gave us a worse ass whipping than Detroit gave Buffalo. only difference is we scored
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 09:42 PM) Im just wondering what manning will put up on our secondary? 70?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:12 PM) who cares about getting destroyed in a preseason game, especially the 4th one. Most of these guys won't even make the team
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:15 PM) Hill cut yet?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:18 PM) FIRE IDZIK
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:21 PM) Yeah this game means nothing...except to Stephen Hill (who fumbled lol) and 115
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:23 PM) Hill is a bum, hes pretty much never shown much football skill. The Jets fucked up big time taking him over Alshon Jeffery.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:29 PM) I'm still pissed off about that
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:43 PM) Its not that Im worried about the preseason game itself. i could care less about that. Its the fact of how bad we got destroyed. And some of the guys will be on the team and others on the fringe so getting destroyed like that doesnt fill me with confidence
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:44 PM) It would be one thing if it was just the second half or 4th quarter but this was the whole game. especially getting destroyed in the 1st quarter and at least part of the 2nd where a lot of the guys will be on the team
ROBJETS Icon : (28 August 2014 - 10:48 PM) 2nd and 3rd stringers making the team had something to prove and even our 2nd stringers got owned so yes Im very concerned. The first stringers need breaks and also if some of them get injured they need to step up. So no after this performance start to finish Im very concerned
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:39 AM) Meh...you're reading too much into it
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:40 AM) Even in seasons where the Jets blew, I haven't seen anyone refer to the preseason to complain. Ever.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:15 AM) fire izdik http://theredzone.or...rs/Default.aspx
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:17 AM) I picture Rob and 115 as real life friends
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:01 PM) Holmes can still play, problem is that hes also a cancer. He wore out his welcome with the Jets
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:23 PM) did Hill get cut?
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:00 PM) Haven't seen anything yet
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 09:06 PM) Whos ready for the season!!? WOOOOO
azjetfan Icon : (Today, 11:54 AM) Hill has been cut
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Today, 01:24 PM) Who wants to take bets he ends up in NE
ROBJETS Icon : (Today, 02:18 PM) We'll I guess you guys are fools then in thinking im a fool for being concerned. Do any of you even know that in 2013 the Jets gave up the most passing yards in the franchise since 1986? And our secondary right now is worse than last year right now. To not be concerned is utterly foolish.
ROBJETS Icon : (Today, 02:19 PM) Unless our d-line has a monstrous year odds are the team will be eaten up in the pass. Every team will game plan to exploit the pass this year.
ROBJETS Icon : (Today, 02:56 PM) Patterson got cut
flood555 Icon : (Today, 03:24 PM) Patterson must have been a huge cancer to get cut
flood555 Icon : (Today, 03:26 PM) is there a midseason draft? we need a DB!
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:58 PM) Our week 1 starting CBs will be Antonio Allen and Darrin Walls... wow
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:58 PM) interesting that Simms and Boyd were released
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 04:00 PM) No more McIntyre
ROBJETS Icon : (Today, 05:20 PM) Pretty sure some of these cuts like Simms and McIntyre were made for removing some more cap space to try to find some decent corners and maybe another reliable wr. Possibly get some players cheap. I'd say the current 53 roster will change a good bit in the next week.
ROBJETS Icon : (Today, 05:23 PM) I just hope Geno doesn't get hurt or we are horse f*cked. Vick sure as hell can't stay healthy for a full season. I guess the FO could also be think of picking up an old vet cut as 3rd qb. Simms is ok but I'd never trust him to win a regular season game if he was put in.
ROBJETS Icon : (Today, 05:25 PM) Anyway it's going yo be an interesting week.

Jets' secondary needs to step up against Cutler
BY ERIK BOLAND |erik.boland@newsday.com November 28, 2008 Kerry Rhodes said he would attack the Jets' defense the same way.

"The way we're stopping the run, I can't complain; why not pass against us?" the Jets safety said. "Teams have to resort to the pass. That's just how it is. We just have to step up on the back end and try to hold up our end of the bargain."

The Jets enter Sunday's home game against the Broncos as the league's third-toughest team to run against, allowing only 78 yards per game. They're coming off a 34-13 victory in Tennessee in which they gave up 45 rushing yards to the then-unbeaten Titans.

But defending the pass has been a different story. The Jets rank 26th against the pass, allowing 239.4 yards per game. The scouting report, from the early part of the season to now, has read about the same: Against the Jets, pass, pass, pass.

Which is what the Broncos do best.

Led by quarterback Jay Cutler, Denver ranks third in the league in total offense (382.5 yards per game), including third in passing yards (273.0).

"They throw the ball a lot. I think it's like 60 percent of the time," cornerback Darrelle Revis said. "We're expecting it and we know it's coming, so we just have to focus up on what we have to do. But we're definitely looking forward to this game. We can get a lot of hands on the ball and try to make plays."

Translation: The Jets think they'll have some chances to pick off Cutler.

The confident third-year quarterback out of Vanderbilt has thrown for 3,036 yards with 19 touchdowns, but also has thrown 12 interceptions this season.

"He's a young guy, so maybe he's a little more brave in what he's doing out there, he'll take some chances," Rhodes said. "He's kind of a young gunslinger anyway, so he comes out, throws the ball around, runs around, trying to make plays. That's the type of player he is, so I think we'll have the opportunity to make plays."

Sounds a bit like Brett Favre. Cutler has been compared to the Jets' quarterback, and his statistics are pretty close to this year's version. Favre enters Sunday's game with 20 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions, though he has thrown only one pick in his last three games.

But Cutler steered clear of that beyond saying he admires Favre. Perhaps he still is mindful of the criticism he took this season when he was quoted as saying that "hands down," he has a stronger arm than Broncos icon John Elway.

"I have a long way to go," Cutler said Wednesday, addressing the Favre comparison. "You're talking about Brett Favre, one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. He's accomplished a lot throughout his career. I'm just kind of getting started. We'll see. Hopefully, I'm still a starter five to 10 years from now."

Flanking Cutler are two receivers who have helped him emerge this season. The 6-4, 230-pound Brandon Marshall, whom Jets coach Eric Mangini compared to Randy Moss - Revis said he's more like Terrell Owens - leads the Broncos with 67 receptions for 887 yards and four TDs. The speedy Eddie Royal has 58 receptions for 673 yards and four TDs.

"That's a combination where you have physicality on one side [Marshall] and you have speed and shiftiness [Royal] on the other side," Revis said.

Rhodes acknowledged the Jets' struggles defending the pass, though he said the various moving parts at cornerback and safety - other than himself and Revis - have played a role.

"That has a little bit to do with it," Rhodes said. "In the secondary, you have to have a feel for each other. There's times where Darrelle and I will look at each other and know what we want to do. When you have another guy in or a young guy in who's not used to getting those reps with us, it's kind of tough. But I think now as the season's going on, we're kind of figuring out how we want to approach it and how we want to match up with different people. It's starting to get better."

For the Jets to keep rolling, that will have to continue Sunday.

Sunday

Uh how long did we hold the ball against a solid team that stops the run, runs the ball and doesnt beat itself? 40 min. How long will we hold the ball against a team that does none of that? 45 min? 50 min? all of the game? hah. I'm not worried in the least.

any give sunday man...problem is...if the Jets players are thinking the way you are...and the Broncos are out determined to prove they can beat the new bandwagon team...it's an easy trap game.

After the jets expended so much energy to beat the Pats and Titans the past 2 weeks...you could easily see them taking this game too lightly.

I doubt it...but it's not like we're playing the lions here.

I'm not the type who thinks that because I feel confident and *beep*y and looking past an opponent that the team I root for is doing the same. Hopefully the Jets learned their lesson from the Raider game.

I hear you but all good passing teams have given us trouble all year no matter how bad the teams were.Running teams we shut down.Denver is a passing team so that is why we think it is a trap game the Jets could have some trouble with.

Those stats are misleading. Yeah we are 26th against the pass but thats because our defense is playin prevent for half of the game. When the Jets are passed on while playing their main defense, the secondary does pretty well. The other team just starts racking up yards everytime we get into prevent mode.

Im not worried about our secondary
