Whats the deal?

Now I know that I post a ton but thats besides the point but it's not like people aren't on here. Over the last couple of days I'm rather shocked. Having like 60 people on at one point and all I see is like 2 and 3 replied threads all the way down the page. Do you guys come here to just read or are you a part of the board?... you can get your read on without signing up, why sign up if your not going to contribute? I'm disappointed in all of the members on this board.

I mean don't you guys have thoughts and opinions? Ron is constantly updating this site and frankly this site is over loaded with features that NO OTHER JETS BOARDS HAS. He's constantly catering to the masses and yet you all sit back and just read. This site has up to minute information and the substance on this board is far more superior then any other jets board.. seriously!!, I'm not saying that other boards don't have that substance but our board is rich with it and I know it's the offseason and blazay, blah but it's not like you guys aren't on. I see tons of peeps just come in and leave and maybe you just come here to read "the good stuff" then go to a different message board to post.

I can't fathum having this board so chalked full of easy to use and fun features while also being painfully lenient with foul language and things of that nature, which you would be on "watch" and or suspended or banned if these types of things were even peeped on another board(s).

So you know what... everyonce in awhile give that reply button a shot, try it out. Use your fingers and type something (i'm sure your keyboard won't bite) . It doesn't matter if your right or wrong because it's a message board based solely on individuals personal opinions and after your done just accept, it's really that easy. For you to even look for a Jets message board over the internet tell me your a fan. Do guys agree with every damn thing people post on this board?... and hey, if you disagree, try out that old "reply" button. It works like a charm! biggrin.gif

All I'm saying is get more active DAMMIT!!!, or I'll start randomly banning people spiteful.gif

Personally, I ran out of opinions about three weeks ago. This is how saturated my psyche has become in the last month: I have this recurring dream where I'm on a bus with 4 people. Normally these people are either friends or people I've known for a hot minute. Thursday night, it was DMC and Gholston. I'm three more articles away from losing it. At this point, I've read everything, I'm convinced that no one knows anything and all I want to see is a product on the football field.

But you can always count on me to start shit for no particular reason.

I only post if I have something to say...I'm not into the, "yeah that was an awesome pick" posts. If I have an opinion that hasn't already been voiced I'll post. Other than that...sorry...I've got too much shit to be doing.

what? have to admit have been a bit busy my self. but i tend to stay away from the board when it becomes ridiculously active. so many threads get made its a head ache to keep up. sometimes ill hit the new posts button up there and see this over whelming list to catchup on. I get intimidated and just read one or two then come back later.

If you compare the activity on other forums to what we have here, most other sites are chocked full of nonsense. Do we really want to log in and see a post hit 2 pages in 30 minutes filled with "Yeah, I agree" replies? Or worse, a bunch of random banter between BFFs that could be had on a Yahoo! Cam chat? I wish there was more to talk about. Sometimes I find myself not replying because another poster probably put up my opinion already. Perhaps not verbatim, but the thought is there. I know Smeds, TimmyLam, Leon, and Hurricane usually get to posts before me and type out thoughts similar to mine before I get a chance. There's nothing more useless than a quoted post that offers no more to the conversation. We don't want conversations to get redundant.

But what bothered me was the inactive OT's. How fuckin difficult is it to find sexy girls on the fuckin internet and put the link in between the image tags!? f***! How could the What's Your Type? thread die on a forum full of male, hot-blooded football fans?

There just ain't alot to talk about right now unfortunately =\. Like Amen said before, I find my opinions already voiced and it feels like just beatin' a dead horsey.

Thats the thing. It doesn't have to be about post count or how many posts you post in a day and I understand the dead times in the offseason and thats fine but frankly I was rather shocked that the draft time was the most dead time I've seen in an active NFL time of the year.

I understand and a lot of times people will post 4 things that have to with Gholston so instead of having one good informative Gholston thread we get 4 or 5 basically all taking about the same thing with a couple replys per thread.

I also understand the "yes this is a good pick" responses but this thread is a prefect example. 70 views and 10 replys. Do you guys get my drift?

and yea Amen... I wasn't the most active in those and even tried to bring them back a few times but within a day they've slid into the archives. I don't get it either to tell you the truth.

Is it the fact that I start too many new threads about prospects and jets information? (I mean it's not like I'm posting something thats been posted before) it's new Jets news fresh to the board, maybe I should relax and stop posting a lot of the stuff I read on a daily basis. I don't know, I don't have the answers.

It just seems people just come here to read and don't bother posting and thats fine as well but try to find a healthy balance is all I'm saying. biggrin.gif

It's definetly not due to a lack of effort on the Mods or Rons part. I think it's just a dead period for us right now.

It was like this during the draft. Generally the draft time is more busy then in-season discussions. I just found things alittle oddball-ish

Yeah I see what you mean by that, maybe it had something to do with how unremarkable and totally ordinary this draft was.

I was a member of the old, old board and I still have yet to get 1,000 posts. I read more than I post. Plus like Amen said If I see that somebody else has said something that I would say I usually don't post unless the guy is being ganged up on so I'll support his argument. Then there are posts like "what color is Dustin Keller" and "black guys are better athletes." You know stupid shit like that, that I could reply to but I figure why throw gasoline on a flame; just because somebody wants to needlessly stir up shit.

I have to agree with S-Dubb on this...at least of this years draft. A lot less posting, debate, and activity than in recent years. And we had A LOT of action on draft weekend....having two #1s, trading twice, taking a TE that NO ONE saw coming, taking a QB, rumors of McFadden & Flacco, a horrible draft by the Pats, Parcells reloading, Bills getting stronger etc...

I understand some just want to read the posts or many opinions are already said by the time you get to read it and that is all cool...but I have never seen it be this "even keeled" during draft weekend. So to that effect...i agree with S-Dubb
