Jetsfan0099 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 04:53 PM) Sounds like it may not be as bad with Goodson. I could see him ending up with a 4 game suspension for possession, the gun charges probably going to the other guy.

Jetsfan115 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 05:49 PM) i'd order a steak from idzik but he'd just give me a hamburger and try to pass it off as steak and when i cought him in the act he'd gie me a million dollars to make up for it

I Want To Get Your Thoughts On This: I Predict That Favre Will Return Next Season... Should veterans be given a break from training camp?

If the Jets get deep in to the playoffs or even make it to the SB, I will say right now that Favre will return. The reason is very simple: the guy simply loves playing football on Sundays. He still has that boyish enthusiasm of a rookie whenever he jogs on to that field on Sundays. I love seeing that as a fan. Period, end of story. He once was quoted as saying that, as a football player, "you're paid to go through training camp and to practice, but on Sundays you play for free. If any player in the NFL doesn't understand that, than they shouldn't be playing."

The only thing that concerns me with Favre is whether he is willing to go through training camp again. I want your thoughts on this. At his age, he's probably thinking to himself that he knows how to read a playbook and how to get himself in to football shape on his own. Why does he want to spend two weeks going through grueling two-a-days in sweltering summer heat, sleep in a dorm room with smelly teammates, have to eat terrible food, have a curfew, and be away from his family? That's pretty much the reason why guys like Michael Strahan and Warren Sapp retired. Those guys could still play the game today, but they just didn't want to have to go through that.

Favre being here has more to do then just Favre being here. Woody will try his hardest to keep Favre here as long as he can. The new stadium is opening soon and he's trying to entice fans to pay through the nose for seating. Having Favre here (and a winning team on thei field) will allow him to achieve that. IMO, if we win a superbowl Favre will go out on top and won't be back. If we don't I can see him here another year.

Haha no one can predict what favre is going to do. I believe that he is enjoying his decision and I think he likes the guys he is playing with and could return for one or even two more seasons but you just do not know with him. He has a really solid team around him that will be together for a few years...that alone may make him to decide to stay if we do really well this season. He wants more than one ring...that's why he is sticking around.

If he decides to ride off into the sunset anf hall of fame then the jets need to get a quality qb somewhere. I have little confidence that Clemens is the future and Ratliff may need more seasoning. Playing with Farve must have rubbed off on both of them. At this point, I like Ratliff over Clemens.

I hear there's a good backup QB from NE that's going to be a FA next year.................Hmmmm dance.gif
Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.
