If bonds should have an astrick and his record is far from legit so is arron's old record. Why you may ask? If you have noticed...the record had been set in 3 different era's of baseball. Babe ruth got screwed and should be still far ahead of bonds in this chase and arron should have never owned it. for example if a ball hit a foul pole...it was considered foul...a homerun wasnt considered a home run unless it went into the bleachers...just not over the fence...pitchers were allowed to use forign substances for the "spit ball"....He also had less games to play per season. Back in his time home runs werent encouraged thus the proper rules for a homerun werent in place.

Arron on the other hand had all these new rule changes which encouraged he and the other players of his time to try and hit the homerun. Thus many of the homeruns arron hit would have never of counted for ruth. so maybe arron should have one of those nice big * next to his record as well. remember marris had an astrick next to his single season homerun record for a long while because he did it in more games.

And now tonight bonds breaks the record where it was more than obvious that as much as a 3rd of baseball and maybe even more were doing the exact same thing as he was doing. there werent any rules in place for steroids in baseball thus he wasnt breaking any of baseballs rules. it may be immoral but he wasnt breaking anything...he is a product of his era...just like ruth and arron were of theirs....

I agree with what you said, and how if you look at how McGuire is treated and how Bonds is treated its crazy. Part of that is because he is about to break Hanks record, but I find it very hard to believe that if McGuire were about to break this record there would be this much hate for him. And for the simple fact that steroids was not illegal in the sport when these guys were taking it. I don't even get why they are on a hunt for everyone who took it when it wasn't band from the sport when they were doing it.

I will say that just like we know that OJ did it, we can conclude from the evidence that Barry took SOMETHING. what that is I don't know. but he got bigger and stronger very quickly and it added to his HR power. But all this hate for him when there were so many that were doing the same thing at the time is outrageous. I didn't see everyone as mad at Marriman when he was sacking QB's all last year then tested positive. its ridiculous. Everyone realizes there are racist people in this world and I'm sure there are people that hate Barry Bonds merely because he's black. This issue might not have anything to do with race when u made ur decision on it but for alot of other people it does. And to think in this day and age that race doesn't matter is idiotic. By the way the Vick issue isn't even comparable to this issue. Vick beat and slaughtered dogs, Barry Bonds hurt peoples feelings by "allegedly" taking steroids. I say allegedly b/c I don't remember him failing a test. Even the NBA ref gambling allegations are worse then the Bonds stories. The media is full of crooks themselves and they'll do anything and say anything to sell their paper. Also, there has been about 400 people on t.v today saying they'll vote for Bonds as a first ballot HOF'er. Plus Pete Rose admitted taking amphetamines while he played does that mean he wouldn't be a HOF'er if there was no gambling issue. Amphetamines weren't banned in baseball then but they were illegal, sounds just like the Bonds case.
