azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:44 PM) So your opinion of the line is right and my opinion is wrong? Is that what your saying? I don't know you. I'm not a drinking buddy of yours. Maybe you should learn some social tact.
ROBJETS Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:47 PM) you felt it was harmless but you were the only one. Everyone else understood why I got was extremely offended about it the first time because you cross the line with what you say to people. Apparently you realized it enough to send me a long pm apologizing and having communication problems that get you in trouble sometimes. But now you cant understand the difference?
azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:48 PM) I understand why. What I'm saying is if you take a jab people will jab back. Have you heard that saying " dont throw rocks when you live in a glass house?"
ROBJETS Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:49 PM) The way you understand things if I call you an idiot about not wanting to trade for a high end qb its no different from me disrespecting your family. Thats what Im getting from you. So the way you see things everything is equally personal
azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:50 PM) From complete strangers on an Internet forum? Yes. Man up
azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:51 PM) Nod the debate was if he is a "high end" player. I thought he was well above average but not worth a 6th overall pick
ROBJETS Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:55 PM) Not worth my time to even acknowledge anymore. Just going to ignore you like I do Mr. Jet. You have a lot of mental growing up to do.
azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:57 PM) That's funny coming from a guy who went butt f*** crazy a couple hours ago
azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:57 PM) Meanwhile you can't seem to respect that others opinions are different than yours
azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 08:59 PM) You are emotionally weak. You went through some serious shit growing up and you can't adjust. You take it out on your keyboard.
azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 09:00 PM) When someone challenges your immaturity you have a complete crazy freak out and act like a girl on her first period
azjetfan Icon : (15 April 2015 - 09:00 PM) Hence the "go wipe your pussy and man up comment
Mr_Jet Icon : (15 April 2015 - 10:16 PM) Please Rob, leave my name out of your little bitchfest.
ROBJETS Icon : (15 April 2015 - 11:46 PM) My bad. You have been respecting my request to you I had a while backI made to you by us not commenting to each other to keep peace between us. I was totally in the wrong for bringing your name up at all and into an argument with member that has issues. I got furious furious with a child. I should've just ignored him like I do the other immature kids on some game forums and sites I belong to. Wont happen again. My apologies for bringing your name into it Mr. Jet.

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 April 2015 - 09:56 PM) Rex wsa fun, but he was too much with the defense instead of the entire football team
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 April 2015 - 09:57 PM) also he didn't always hold players accountable. I think Bowles will make the team more disciplined.

santana Icon : (Yesterday, 02:41 PM) I believe the rivers stuff is all speculation

probably a top 5 pick....but we would have to unload some picks and trade for the position to get him which im not in favor of. we have a 1st and a really high 2nd and another decent 2nd pick. Id rather have 3 players....

Thing is...he isn't really a NT. Plenty of teams will take him to be a dominant DT in any system. I know he has plenty of size to be a NT. But he isn't really a space eaterand would best utilized as a DE in the 3-4. It's scary to think how good Alan Branch could be as a DE in the 3-4. And while I'm sure he could play NT...it wouldn't be worth trading up that far to put him in an unnatural position...

Actually...I've heard some rumblings that Branch might start dropping because he isn't really a run stopper...and isn't really a fantastic pass rusher...plus he doesn't even have anything noteworthy in the stat column. I try not to look at stats...but put it all together he may end up a mid first rounder. Problem is...there isn't another DT who could really beat him out for first DT taken...so I suppose he stays Top 10.

If he did fall...for whatever reason...I think he'd be a good pickup...but as a DE. Hell...I might be willing to give up my Marshawn Lynch man crush if Branch fell...haha. But it won't happen...so the man love continues...

the more and more i see the patriots on tv or read about them, the more i want a player like seymour on our team. lets hope your right and his stock does drop and we somehow pick him up. he has the potential to be better than seymour.

i hate to burst the bubble but we already have a guy just as good as seymour in 2006

Shaun Ellis ---------------------Richard Seymour
tackles-58 ---------------- tackles-40
solo-37 --------------------- solo-22
asst-21---------------------- asst-18
sacks-5 ----------------------- sacks-4
pass Def-3 ------------------- pass Def-7
int- 0 ---------------------------- int-1
ff-1 --------------------------- ff-0
fumblerec-0 ---------------------- fumblegarec-1
games-16 ----------------------- games-16

Shaun ellis had just as good if not better numbers than seymour in the same number of games and this is his first year in a 3-4....we can hate on him because he wont be the 10 sack guy he was in herm's scheme but i give him alot of credit because most high paid defensive ends like abraham or strahan would of cried and asked for a trade because their stats would drop but he played his ass off. But hey i would take both guys in a heart beat.

Do me a favor and burn the stat book...

Stats will never show what a defensive linemen does in the 3-4. Shaun Ellis didn't control the line of scrimmage the way Seymour did. Ellis did a good job, no doubt, but he is part of the run defense problem...not the biggest part, obviously, but a part of it.

Thing is one team in the top 15 who doesn't neccessarilly require a NT will take him simply because of his talent. Last year Carolina had DeShaun Foster on their roster but that didn't stop them taking DeAngelo Williams same with the Saints and Bush as they had McAllister although passing on Bush would have been a mistake (isn't that right Texans?).

Exactly. Seymour would have commanded more double teams than Ellis did simply because of his reputation around the league as one of the best DEs in the league.

in all honesty id rather have Lamar Woodley to play DE instead of Branch, Woodley could play that OLB/DE pos that thomas plays. seriously anyone else watch michigan play this guy is a monster

I could be wrong, but I don't think Woodley would play DE in the 3-4. He's 6-2 and 268 lbs. Compare that to Bryan Thomas who is 6-4 and 266 lbs. Woodley is the perfect size for an OLB in the 3-4, assuming he's fast enough.

You cant fault ellis for a couple of reasons the biggest of which was the lack of a NT....Of all the 3-4's in the league we are the only one that doesnt have a real NT. Teams could collapse 2 or 3 blockers on him because he was the only guy on the line causing any disruption......Robertson had an OK year but his mobility is seriously limited by a degenerative knee condition which alot of pro's think might end his career earlier than expected and Kimo as we all know is awful and shouldnt have been starting on an nfl roster last year. Give him Wilfork and ty warren type players and another year in the 3-4 system and we'll see who the most dominant DE in the 3-4 really is. I'll admit that the numbers dont tell the whole truth but if it wasnt for Ellis getting blocks collapsed on him the way they did the sacks that rhodes and thomas got wouldnt be there.....he basically was the NT because he occupied the space.......another thing is this was his first year in the 3-4 so i think he deserves credit for putting up numbers and not gripes about a change in philosophy which pretty much an high paid DE in the league would have done.........numbers may not tell the whole truth but they dont lie either
