MikeGangGree... Icon : (01 January 2017 - 05:56 PM) OK so Bill O brien and Sean Payton might get fired according to Fox this morning
MikeGangGree... Icon : (01 January 2017 - 05:56 PM) I would do anything to get one of them as OC
santana Icon : (02 January 2017 - 02:19 PM) texans coach? i doubt he gets fired
santana Icon : (02 January 2017 - 02:19 PM) but he would be ideal if the jets were to flush bowles out

azjetfan Icon : (05 January 2017 - 09:54 PM) Sean Payton will get another HC gig. Obrien would be good.
azjetfan Icon : (09 January 2017 - 11:18 PM) Howard from Alabama seems legit. #88 TE
azjetfan Icon : (09 January 2017 - 11:20 PM) Williams the WR from Clemson looks like they are out to get him. He has taken some huge hits
vjdbbq Icon : (10 January 2017 - 07:12 AM) We'll take Williams in the first round .
Chadforpresi... Icon : (10 January 2017 - 10:48 AM) I'd love Howard in the 2nd round if he's still there. I like Williams a lot as well, but I just don't see WR being big enough of a need, and there should be better talent on the board at 6
Jetsfan115 Icon : (10 January 2017 - 07:21 PM) Raiders OC Musgrave not expected to return to OAK. what do you think about getting him? he did wonders with the oakland offense this year
Chadforpresi... Icon : (10 January 2017 - 07:39 PM) Definitely an appealing choice given with his history of progressing Carr. We need someone with a track record of grooming young QBs
MikeGangGree... Icon : (12 January 2017 - 12:36 PM) I want Watson now! after what he did Monday night I'm sold on him at QB. He moved the ball all night on Alabama and after hurts scored that TD he just told his team "Lets end this"
Jetsfan115 Icon : (12 January 2017 - 06:31 PM) An Ohio prosecutor says he wants to know what punishment Cincinnati Bengals player Adam "Pacman" Jones faces from the NFL before deciding how to proceed over Jones' latest arrest, Dan Sewell of the Associated Press reports..

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters tells WKRC-TV he's asking "what is the normal" for a player with multiple offenses and who's been suspended before.

An NFL spokesman said on Thursday that Jones' case is "under review" and declined to comment further.

Jones was jailed Jan. 3 on charges he head-butted police and spit on a nurse after his arrest for assault. Authorities say he was so combative he had to be placed in a restraint chair.

Jones says he anticipates the charges will be dismissed.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (12 January 2017 - 06:32 PM) we wont get watson. he's going 1st overall to the browns
azjetfan Icon : (12 January 2017 - 09:06 PM) Is Watson a product of Clemson's staff and supporting cast? Taj Boyd also put up some decent numbers if I remember correctly but he couldn't even make a scout team in the NFL.
azjetfan Icon : (12 January 2017 - 09:11 PM) From what I have read (although limited) he is not the highest ranked QB in the draft.
azjetfan Icon : (12 January 2017 - 09:11 PM) "No quarterback in this draft -- not Mitch Trubisky, not Watson, not DeShone Kizer -- is considered a sure thing. The folks at Scouts Inc. rank Trubisky, Watson and Kizer as the 21st, 38th and 46th prospects on their big board, respectively." ESPN
azjetfan Icon : (12 January 2017 - 09:12 PM) If we can get a decent return for Richardson we may be able to make a move into the mid teens to early 20s if the Brass really likes Watson.
azjetfan Icon : (12 January 2017 - 09:13 PM) Personally I don't think the jets have a clue on who they will take. We still have to hit FA and manage our roster
azjetfan Icon : (12 January 2017 - 11:46 PM) Jets to interview Broncos assistant Studesville for OC
Jetsfan115 Icon : (13 January 2017 - 01:28 PM) Why? seems like a weird choice
Jetsfan115 Icon : (13 January 2017 - 01:29 PM) Leonard Williams replacing Khalil Mack in Pro Bowl
Chadforpresi... Icon : (13 January 2017 - 09:49 PM) I'm not buying Watson, even after that championship game. Dude threw too many picks in his day
Chadforpresi... Icon : (13 January 2017 - 09:49 PM) I'm really curious to see what we get for Richardson, but I have a bad feeling his value is at an all time low between his crap season and bad attitude
azjetfan Icon : (14 January 2017 - 12:16 AM) I agree. He is a first round talent but a fourth round headache. We will be lucky to get a 2nd
Chadforpresi... Icon : (14 January 2017 - 08:41 AM) Yeah precisely. 2nd rounder would be a huge stretch. 3rd or 4th is more likely
vjdbbq Icon : (14 January 2017 - 02:18 PM) Send Sheldon someplace he will never see the playoffs ; like Jacksonville ; then he will have time to find da ho's .

azjetfan Icon : (16 January 2017 - 10:50 PM) Winters resigned to 4 year deal. $7 million per year
Chadforpresi... Icon : (16 January 2017 - 10:51 PM) Seems like a slightly steep price but overall cool with it, he's turned into a good player and is still young. Just needs to stay healthy.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (17 January 2017 - 04:12 PM) seems like a good deal. they were saying he could have earned over 8 million in the open market

QUOTE
THE JETS HAVE A QUARTERBACK-IN-WAITING. From Adam, of Berkeley Heights, N.J.: "In your Jets comment this week, you say "Work hard, Kellen Clemens. Your chance is coming." Do you really think Clemens can be the real deal for the Jets or will they be stuck with Chad Pennington for a few more years before going out and getting someone else in the draft or free agency?''

QUOTE
I think Eric Mangini would not have used a second-round pick on someone he was not planning to give a fair chance. Pennington is a splendid field general, but he has the weakest deep arm of any decent-or-better quarterback in the NFL. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer came back after scouting all the quarterbacks in the draft last year and raved about Clemens' smarts, field sense and arm strength. Oh, he'll get his chance to play sometime. You can be sure of that.

My personal opinion is that Kellen starts next year. It's up to him to beat out Chad, but I know that they are gonna give Kellen every opportunity to compete. He's supposedly a really hard worker so I don't expect anything less from him. He's probably gonna take over sooner than later.

I'm hoping for sooner. We're not going to win much more under Chad.
Sal Paolantonio commenting on the difference in the Ryan and Mangini atmospheres in the building:

Just look at the sig. You can't say he's gonna have rookie struggles cause he's not a rookie. Like i said in another thread its hard to change Qb's after a winning season but i can see Mangini say the better man won and Chad will help in different ways.

Unleash the cannons Schott. Clemens will get it done. You can open up ur play book now.

That's the scary thought. Our offense was pretty effective all season. Just imagine what Lil' Schotty could do with Kellen. Hell he hand picked him. He pretty much created this offense for Kellen Clemens... unfortunately he had to adapt it to fit Chadwick's inability to throw it deep.

Listen, don't ruin threads with your garbage. We're already getting sick of people spamming the boards and it's evident that you have a hard-on for BradSmith. It's getting pretty damn old that everytime someone brings up Kellen you come in and trash him because you think that Brad Smith should be the QB of the Jets. News flash: NO ONE ON THE JETS OR IN THE NFL THINKS BRAD SMITH IS A QB.

So do us all a favor and shut the hell up about Brad Smith and your blatantly predictable posts about the situation. It's getting old.... real old.

Brad Smith= Antwan Randel el but more versitile. If your lucky BSMITH16 once Kellen leads this team to a SB. Schott might give him a trick play in which he throws a TD pass to cotchery. Thats all the QBing he'll do that and what he did against the Raiders. That was funny

Kellen has all the tools to be a field general just like Chad. Actually I think selecting Kellen to learn and back up Chad also having been under the tutelage of an amazing Q.B coach/Offensive genius in Schotty, I think that Kellen has all the makings of dethroning Chad sooner or later to eventually leading this team for years to come.

I don't see how you guys could know Clemens will be a great QB when you don't present any evidence to prove he will be great let alone the starter on opening day.

It should be obvious what's going to happen, the same thing that happened in 2002. Like Vinny, Chad will start the season and then will be benched in favor of Kellen. Now if that is next season is debatable. Chad sat on the bench for his first two years and still didn't get the starting job on opening day 2002. Clemens may not be the starter until sometime during the 2008 season. And I think the Jets will sign another QB after the draft or maybe even draft one on day 2.

Basically nobody knows what kind of QB Kellen Clemens will be.

Anyway the team needs a running back before anything else.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

Listen with all due respect, BradSmith16 didnt actually say anything about Kellen being a great backup because Brad Smith will be the starter. That is simply a conclusion that you and the previous poster came to. I think we should practice a little restraint when attacking a fellow NYJetsFan member.

That being said, I do not think Kellen will be a starter next season, nor do I think he will start the season after that. He will get his chance some day, but it may not even be with these Jets. The job is currently Chad's to lose and I dont see him making the mistakes it would take to get him yanked out of the starters role.

Not to mention Chad is going to have a full offseason of conditioning, studying and QB work. He didnt have that luxury in recent years. The end result will be an even better Chad in 2007. I am sad to see that so many people have given up on old #10..but I respect all of your opinions. I simply disagree. Especially with the persistent noodle arm references and weak arm arguments. Simple fact of the matter is I think people are taking a fact..and blowing it out of proportion. Does Chad have a weaker arm than Peyton and Brady, yes. Does he have a weaker arm than a number of QBs in this league..possibly. But by no means is his arm weak. It is all relative, but Chad has more than enough arm to get it done. Tell me one route he cannot throw, because there is none...he is a complete QB.

Chad will definetly start in 2007 and he deserves that opportunity. This is a make or break year for him. If he succeeds, then he is our QB but if he struggles Kellen will become our guy.

why is everyone so down on chad? u do realize that every year he starterd a majorite o the games we made the playoff right? every single one. and everyone he didn't our team sucked. who cares about arm strength. vick has one on the strongest arms in the league and chad is a 10 times better QB then vick. get over your love of deep passes. whats next? pete rose sucked even though he batted 400 just cause he never hit 60 home runs in a season? jason kid sucks causse he never averaged 25 points a seaosn despite he's almost the all time leader in triple doubles? martin sucked cause he coudln't break big runs? there are more important things for a QB then a huge arm, you only go deep about what 5 - 6 times a game? what about all the other plays

We've been real patient with people that are on this board to draw attention to themselves by annoying everyone else. EvanstonJet was exibit A. This kid is exibit B. Bottom line is we're cleaning this up because the overall quality has declined and it's because of people like this.

And why are people still bringing up the "How do you know" card? Seriously, the kid has a gun for an arm and he's mobile and I think he was the only one to throw TD's in the preseason... or atleast it seemed. I saw him play. He was pretty good. I like him, he's got more potential than Chad. He can atleast take advantage of a WR's speed. I like Chad as much as the next guy but he's never gotten us anywhere. He's basically, with exception to this season, a poor man's Peyton Manning. He plays OK in the regular season and then shits himself when it matters.

Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses. Chad's 31, his arm is weak, and we drafted a QB in the 2nd round of the playoffs last year who might actually be a great QB. We know what Chad brings us, why don't we see what Clemens can do. Atleast we'd see our WR's production go through the roof.
