Chris Johnson asking 2 Years/$10M, Jets want $3-4M per year

azjetfan Icon : (14 April 2014 - 03:44 PM) 18. New York Jets -- Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State: Surprised? Yes, the Jets need a receiver, but it's the deepest receiver draft in years, and they can find a good one in the second round. This would mark the fifth straight year with a defensive pick in Round 1.
Chaos Icon : (14 April 2014 - 03:51 PM) is he better than Gilbert, Dennard, and Fuller?
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 April 2014 - 03:56 PM) In my biased opinion I don't think he's better than Dennard.

Chris Johnson’s visit with #Jets today went well, from what it sounded like. It’s over now. Nothing final yet, other teams still circling
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 08:25 PM) I think he's just stating the obvious but whatever it's an update
2JBallar01 Icon : (Today, 10:58 AM) CJ wants 2year, $10 million deal. Jets offered muti year deal, 3-4 mill a year
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:59 AM) so he wants 2 year 10 mil and we offered what 4 years 12-15 mil?
2JBallar01 Icon : (Today, 11:07 AM) @emesola: Chris Johnson is seeking approximately 2 years, $10 million. Idzik is not budging over $3-4 mil/year it seems. #Jets #JetsTwitter
2JBallar01 Icon : (Today, 11:08 AM) Kristian Dyer has confirmed that Idzik offered a multi-year deal, we're looking at $3-4M per, as Esola said.
santana Icon : (Today, 11:08 AM) Sidney rice coming through
2JBallar01 Icon : (Today, 11:08 AM) I'm guessing 2 years 6 mill is what was offered
santana Icon : (Today, 11:12 AM)

The current market rate for a starting running back is roughly $3M per year. Idzik is offering slightly more than that, and Johnson is seeking a good chunk more.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) this is negotiations, Johnson would like to sign here but will try to gauge his value more
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) He was at the Knicks/Nets game yesterday
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:36 AM) Idk about the numbers, I read an article that said that the Jets offered a "attractive" deal to Johnson and that it was always a longshot that he would sign yesterday, but the Jets believe the deal is market value for him

I was there when we demolished the Devils this season and that was my first game. That place was electric... I can't imagine how insanely loud it'll get when we host our first playoff appearance. And against the Rangers! It's gonna be a good series. I only got tix for Thursday because I thoroughly expect the series to be over in 4 games. Although I hope you squeek one of those out so I can get tix for Game 5 in Atlanta.

Rangers should win this series. Thats all I've got to say. I mean come on, didn't the Thrashers have problems with the Flyers this season?

Yeah, they beat Marty and the Devils in the regular season, but I doubt they'd take at least two of them in a playoff series. Marty will be repsenting the east this year, as the Preds will be representing the West.

Listen, i'm not even a Rangers fan, infact I hate them, i've always hated them. If anybody is going to be thrashed this series, it'll be the Thrashers.

Well if rankings mean anything the Thrashers have home field advantage.... so they played better than the Rangers this year which means that the Rangers are the underdogs. Atleast I think that's what that means. I mean, 3rd seed vs 6th seed. Come on, give credit where it's due.

They don't deserve to be the third seeded team though. If division doesn't give you one of the top 3 seeds, then the Thrashers would be the 5th seeded team. In hockey I don't believe in the favorite or underdog ordeal. For the last couple of years the Detroit Red Wings have been the #1 seeded team, and they keep losing to the 8th seeded team. They're #1 again, and I wouldn't be shocked if they'd lose to the Flames. In my opinion I doubt that Atlanta will even be in the playoffs next season.

Well that's your opinion and you're entitled to it.... I however disagree completely. They nerely got in last year and they earned their seeding. They get better every year and they'll continue to be a force in the NHL. Just because it's in Atlanta doesn't mean they dont know how to play hockey. Hell most of the players are from Russia or somewhere like that.

Sounds like you just dont like the Thrashers, because saying they suck and shouldn't be in it and are gonna suck next year shows you dont really know anything about them. They're one of the better teams in the NHL and on the rise.

No shit I don't like the Thrashers. Hell living in the state of Georgia it sucks donkey dick here. The state of Florida is like a million times better than this state. This is the only case i'll ever root for the Rangers now, if they play the Thrashers. Here is the way that they don't make it next season:

Sabres, Devils, Senators you assume will always be in the playoffs. Rangers have been in the playoffs for the last two seasons. The Penguins seem to have a great future with the best hockey player playing. You figure if the Flyers become a big team in the offseason they might even be back in there. That right there is 6 teams. All these following teams are usually contenders:

Tampa Bay
New York Islanders
Toronto
Montreal
Carolina

Plus the Florida Panthers have been on the rise for the next season. Now that happens to be a total of 12 teams that i've listed that could make the playoffs. You could go from rebuilding to a dynasty at any time possible in hockey, and visa verse.

So any team could be out of the playoffs next season. I think the Atlanta Thrashers are one of those teams.

The way hockey is going, I give it maybe 5 more years before the NHL dies. The strike was like a bullet in the knee of hockey and its slowly getting infected. And theres no cure like in baseball when 2 guys hit 60+ home runs to bring alot of fans back after their strike. Hockey has become a sport that nobody cares about anymore.

Dude Canton is lame that's why you're sour puss about it. If you're not 21 living around here really sucks. But Atlanta is the bomb for going out and drinking. There's a billion places to be in Atlanta and there's always beautiful women. But I feel for you. If I were you I'd get into riding dirt bikes or something like that. Canton is good for that.... that's about it.
