im looking for a new system i had my PS2 since 2001 xmas (6th grade) and im know in 11th. which one should i get the PS3 when it comes or the 360?

ps3 is more pricey, but thats what im getting, has better quality discs, more power, and has free online.... supposively getting more "only ps3" games.... i dont like the 360, exspecially for madden, it really doesnt have any good games out yet, pay for online........ im getting ps3 and the wii - i say no to the 360 just because how XBOX owned the ps2 last gen, the PS3 will own the 360 this gen because of more power, better games and such

yea the PS3 has a starting price at 600 bucks thats pretty steep. i think the new crop of games for the 360 will be better because i heard that the last years games didnt use all the power it could.

ps3 is what im getting. xbox has all these stupid bugs and updates. really the only thing its good for is maybe some halo when ever it comes out. cuz madden was terrible on it.

ps3 for the titles and seamless operation. oh yeah and the controller is not retarded.

1) they don't have better quality discs, blu ray holds more space but the dye used is of lesser quality the DVDs. also they scratch easier

2) the PS3 has more "peak" power but less "usuable power" its like having a vette and a M3, the vette has more power but if the chip cute off at 150 and the beamer chip cuts off at 170. the xbox360's full hardware is easibly usable, while the PS3 is tough to get all the power out of it. so multi patform games will look best on xbox360

3) madden sucked cause EA rushed it for launch. not xboxs fault.

4) PS3 still has a pay per game online, not free but was more expensice then xbox360s 50dollar a year subscription for unlimited play to nay live game.

5) PS3 hasn't had any blobkbuster games announced and no games out period. so how can u say thta? the xbox will have blockbuster games like fable 2, jade empire 2, gears of war, halo 3 etc. the PS3 had no EXCLUSIVE blockbuster games at all.


if u want to know which one to but play both and do your own research cause forums will mostly give u biased answers

my unbiased opinion is xbox360. and i don't own either one. not to mention you'll save 200 bucks on the xbox which can get u 3 games and a 2nd controller

project gotham is better the taourismo, MGS hans't been good since the 1st one, and GTA will be on all systems but will look better on xbox.

also blu-ray won't last it will me like mini discs? remember them? they were gonna replace CDs and never did. alot of people wasted money on them. blu-ray is a completly unnecessary and not useful technology. why would u need 54gigs of disk space? even the massive oblivion game only needs 1 dual layer DVD. i won't be investing any of my money in blu-ray.

emm about the games to each their own. but blu ray will stick around. its HD quality. thats the only reason its comin out. they need 54gbs because of the displays out now. with so many hd tvs out the higher resolution and sound it requires a lot more space then a conventional dual layered dvd. I just looked at the price for some blu-ray players and they are going for 1000$ So a 600$ ps3 sounds veryy reasonable.

I suggest Xbox 360, thats what I have.
And dont talk about madden being bad, because its going to be the same exact way for PS3.
The reason I would be cautions to buy a PS3, is because the PS2s were purposely made to brake later on because they werent getting enough sales. When I bought my Ps2 it broke pretty early like a year.
Thats what I heard from my friend who works for them.
Also Xbox 360 is going to go down 50 dollors once PS3 comes out, so 360 is going to blow out PS3.

As always PS is gonna have a wider selection of good games but xbox will have a few bad ass no comparison ones. Halo 3 is supposed to be out by summer of 07 and Oblivion is just awesome. I have a 360 already and plan on getting a PS3 when it drops below $450. Gotta love the wife I buy her clothes she buys me video games! Yay me!

are u serious? oblivion is garbage.

let me tell u a little story about my friend duvian.
he bought oblivion..the game loaded loaded and loaded and loaded he fought a wolf and then it loaded for about 5 more hours. then it locked up.. then he got mad and reset it. so it loaded loaded his game. took about 5 steps loaded. went into a door loaded x10. in some building it continued to load when he had to do anything.. it locked up again. he turned it off and went to go return it. bestbuy wouldnt give him store credit.. so he broke the game right on the desk of the service department. asked for a new one(cuz he got the warranty) did the same thing the next day. once he broke that one and got a new one he told them he would keep doing this till he got store credit. after about 8-10 trips i think... he finally got his refund. i believe he went through the whole stock of oblivions at his local best buy.
yeah oblivion sucks.

Well maybe his Xbox just sucks, because my brother plays oblivion and he loves it. Also 4 of my friends have it and also love it.

I have had pretty much no problems with oblivion at all. the longest load time I have had was 45 seconds tops. and that is with a chest in my house that has way to much crap in it because I am a pack rat. The game frooze on me once but it was more of a glitch then a freeze and all I did was DL an update on xboxlive and it fixed. Awesome game hands down I think your friend needs to take better care of his system honestly.

yeah he said he use to play it all the time over at some other kids house. once its patched up and properly loaded i heard its not a bad game.

the one he bought was the something edition that came with a lot of stupid shit like a map and even a coin. maybe it was just a bad shipment i dunno cuz every other game worked on his 360. game looked like it sucked to me.. really gave me a sour taste for the 360 so much f***ing loading.

My first one i got the 2nd christmas after it was out(SCPH3000R). I have another in my car(i think its a scph-v5).. and a little one also(SCPH70012). They are all working well. The little one sometimes doesnt want to read DVD movies.

yea see the big one works for you and the little one doesnt. For me the big one broke and the little one works better.
