So yea? RE is a very important position in the NFL, for both stopping the run and pass rushing, as it is usually the QB's blind side.
I have not heard his name called at all this season. Is this good or bad? Has anyone actually analyzed atleast briefly what he is doing on the field/contribution etc...?
I also know a big man like that can be effective just eating blocks, which is fine when you have guys like Pace and Harris making the plays.
I know he lead the league in DE tackles last year, im assuming this was due to our dismal Run-D game.
But I figure, a DE is usually making tackles closer to the line of scrimmage which is a hell of alot better than making tackles downfield.
That being said. what is this man doing this year?

We are number 2 in the league is stopping the run. It's not just Jenks. Kenyon is a good player.

He is playing the run, hes controlling his gap. He is having a good season like the rest of our front 7. Having the 3rd ranked run defense means more then 1 guy is doing their job. Sure Jenkins has made a huge impact, but the others guys have to do their job also for the defense to be great. I've seen Coleman make some TFL, or clog a running lane. Hes a big guy, not very athletic or fast. Hes more just of a gap controller/run stuffer. Devito is like that, a big guy who holds his gap because of how strong he is. They are good against the run. Kenyon is not a dynamic defensive player, just a guy who does his job.

The guy does his job and does it well. The 3-4 defense isn't designed to give DE's huge stats, although Ellis is still getting sacks.

Where's Gholston
I saw him in a couple plays, he looked so slow and sluggish. I was embarassed for a few seconds. That's the name we need to hear. What a shame. It doesn't look like he belongs in the league at all. I think slimming down might help. All muscle and no show.
