i would like to know how to post pictures...i click insert image and then copy/paste the url and it says [img] tags are not allowed any one have an easier way to do this,, or any insight?
the img and brackets are what tells the board where the image is located and to display it. when you press the button insert image and you have to box to fill in where the image is all that simply does is then add that location within [img]and[/lMG].
so to fix the issue you are having just simply add the location with out the [img] tags already on.
if you are using tinypic or any other service to host the picture you notice it gives you a couple options all. it will give you the location of ur picture for use in a forum like this one. that just means that you don't have to hit the insert image button but simply paste that line of text anywhere in the reply box.

no worries man im happy to explain it to you.
we can use the google banner as an example
if you are using internet explorer.
if you want to find the location of a picture what i use to do is right click the picture so you get the mouse menu. go to properties. in the middle of that window you will see "Address: (URL)" thats the location of the picture on the internet and the address should end in a picture extension (ie- .jpg .gif .png .bmp ) - now in that same window you high light that text and right click then press copy to save it. pictured below

now you will have that address saved in ur clipboard which is "http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif"
with that location saved you can then add the picture to your reply. When you select the insert image button - you get prompted for the location. Simply right click and hit paste to add in what you have in the clipboard.

when you press ok you will notice in the reply box that it added a line of text containing what you need. The location "http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif" but with [IMG][/lMG] tags at the beginning and end. Like i explained in my other post you can really skip the step of pressing the Insert Image button as it simply just adds the [IMG] tags which you can manually type in ur self.

alright if you are using firefox
its a bit easier to get the pictures location. When you right click an image you will notice in the menu that you have the option to select "Copy image location"

once you press that you can then add it to the reply by pressing "Insert Image" and pasting the location. just the same steps from above.
--
if you have an image saved on your computer that you want to add. You can have www.tinypic.com assist you. Go to that website and upload the image you have saved. Once you finish uploading you will see this.

Notice that the 2nd line of text says IMG code for forums. Copy paste that line directly into the reply box of the forum. Notice it has the IMG tags at either end.. this means you dont have to press the "Insert Image" button to do it for you.
Should be about it let me know if you have any other questions

dynamic just means it's not ending in .jpg or any other file extension for an image. attachments can't be placed in image tags in the same way an http:// link can.
