santana Icon : (Yesterday, 11:59 PM) yeah but hes white and a patriot
santana Icon : (Today, 12:00 AM) goodell is busy banning handbags from stadiums
santana Icon : (Today, 12:00 AM) this country is priming its self for a massive protest this handbag shit is retarded
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) They are so f***ing stupid
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) Like people need more reasons to stay at home for the game
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) Honestly, at this point, the only way I'd go to an NFL game was A. Free tickets B. Tickets were close enough to the field that I felt like I could heckle a player and be heard
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) its not stupid its actually genius
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) the problem is i know for sure the evil genius behind it is dan snyder and other owners pushing for this shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) they want their new stadiums to inhale your money from the minute you enter its zipcode
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Genius in the sense that you force people to spend more money
santana Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) right
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Baseball stadiums started doing this since right after 9/11
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) I used to go to Mets games as a kid with a subway hero
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Now I gotta drop $30 for a burger with fries
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) You know what I do? Not go to the fuckin games LOL
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) And it's not just me because the Mets suck, Yankees can't sell out anymore at all
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Shit, even Mets vs Yankees wasn't sold out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) That never happened in the 90s
santana Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) ghetto fries
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) whats amusing is at nationals stadium the staff is the worst
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) they don't give a shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) specially sunday morning
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) How so?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) Do they make you watch the Nationals?
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) every time they handed me my food or what not then i had to go to the register to pay i just walked away because the queue was too long
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) people running the registers just go super slow
santana Icon : (Today, 12:07 AM) no one there is in charge of making sure the customers are following the process
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Wait, you pay after you get your food?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) How does that even work?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Everywhere you pay when you place your order
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) well its decided getting some booze tomorrow afternoon and drinking every time i head lebron's head band referenced
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) like i said the concession stands are a mess
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) You might die
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) there were multiple people behind the counter
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so you could just go up to it and ask for what you wanted and 1 out of the 5 people would be on a single register
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so eventually you were just handed your food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) expecting for someone to approach the register you were standing infront to charge you
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) or you were led to believe maybe you had to go line up to the one that had a cashier with people already waiting on it
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) so a lot of the times when i was just handed the food i requested i would stand there look around see them go back to being distracted on their boost mobile phones or whatever reason and walked away
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) i got 6 pretzels like this for the group i was with and 3 hot dogs
santana Icon : (Today, 12:15 AM) my ticket one time had like 5$ towards concessions or what not their scanner wasnt working at the register so it wasnt reading it right or she didnt know what she was doing. she tried to scan it 3 times then litterally just turned away so i was standing there asking if it was all good no one answered so i just walked away with the food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:18 AM) probably doesn't help that they are hiring people from one of the worst parts of dc
santana Icon : (Today, 12:19 AM) in fact all the stadiums in dc are in very low income areas probably to exploit this work force
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:31 AM) No stadiums are in low income areas because that's how they get municipal bonds to finance construction. "Look, we're giving black people jobs! Pay for our stadium!!!"
santana Icon : (Today, 12:32 AM) right

Reports: Mets, Yanks discuss Cameron for Sheffield

Mike Cameron could be in Yankee pinstripes.
By Scout.com
Date: Jun 29, 2005

The Mets and Yankees have discussed a deal that will tentatively send Mike Cameron and Miguel Cairo to the Yankees in exchange for Gary Sheffield, the New York Post and the Record of Hackensack (N.J.) reported Wednesday.

Sourcing a major league executive, the newspapers reported that the Yankees initiated discussions with the Mets during the Subway Series, when Bernie Williams struggled defensively in the first two games.
Cameron – who missed the first month of the season after wrist surgery and is hitting .298 with six home runs and 16 RBI entering Wednesday's play – would solve those woes, providing the Yankees with a two-time Gold Glove center fielder to push Williams to the designated hitter role.

A positive clubhouse presence, Cameron would also give the Yankees with a strong personality to fill the room, and has said that visiting Yankee Stadium was one of his personal highlights when he was playing for the Seattle Mariners, calling it the "Mecca."

Sheffield, 36, would slot into right field and give the Mets a legitimate right fielder, just months after the club pushed Cameron to the corner to accommodate centerfielder Carlos Beltran.

The 17-year veteran is hitting .300 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI, and is due $13 million this season and next. Cameron, by comparison, is due $6 million for the next two years and holds a $7 million option for 2007.

The inclusion of Cairo in the rumored trade is incidental, although Cairo has said on numerous occasions he enjoyed his time with the Yankees last season and would have liked to return.

Whether the Mets can actually sign off on a trade that appears strongly beneficial for the Yankees is another story. The two teams agreed to a swap of relievers with bad contracts over the winter, dealing Mike Stanton and Felix Heredia, but those players were not everyday, starring performers.

The newspaper reported that the Yankees also have interest in trading for outfielder Mark Kotsay of the Oakland A's.

I wouldn't like that trade at all. I would like to keep sheff until his contract is gone. even though he is 37 he has hit in cultch situation and is a good player overall.

we could def. get much more for him than mike cameron and cairo... i have not been happy with pretty much any move they have made this past offseason so i can imagine them making another boneheaded one... but maybe the pressure of losing will steer them the right way... eh

The Mets need a first baseman, much more than a RF. Especially an old Right Fielder that is a liability in the field.

the tarde was proposed by the yankees, not the mets. Also, i heard that if the mets completed the sweep that night, then cashman wouldve pushed the deal to get it done monday. Camron is making about 6 million, while sheff is making 36, so the trade will get done only if the yankees are willing to give the mets money to help pay for sheff.

The only thing that I dont like is that sheff is 37, and we need to get somebody younger, like overbay. But we also do need that big bat in the lineup, which we couldve got from delgado, and floyd is contributing right now, but id love to see....

this is a dead topic for many reasons...

sheff said if the yanks did deal him he would not play, the yankees is the only team he is willing to play for... he would rather retire than play for the mets... i heard all this on espnradio today...

furthermore the yankees are not this stupid... sheff is 36, cameron is 32... cameron strikes out like woah... in about 25 less games cameron has only one less error... so i know some people will point to the defense, but cameron has two erros, sheff three... and sheff has a much stronger arm... the yanks would have a hole at right if they did this and theres no reason for it... the salary isnt an issue...

this talk needs to end, and the yanks need to pull their heads out of their asses and put some w's together

Its not errors as much as overall play. Isn’t Cameron a former gold glover? And its not sheffs play ist Bernie Williams play the reason they want him. I don’t like it cause sheff is a big bat and probably the best HR hitter the yanks have right now (debatable with a-rod) and Cameron gets lucky to reach 20

You're out of your mind. Cameron is an upgrade for the Yankmees. The man is a top Center fielder with good pop in his bat. He had 30 HR's last Year. Sheff is a horrible RF and 36 years old making twice as much money as Cameron. I could only hope the rest of the Yankmees think Sheff is better so this deal doesn't go through.

Sheffield miffed at reported trade rumors
ESPN.com news services

Gary Sheffield does not want to play for the Mets or any team other than the Yankees this season.

"I'm not going anywhere," Sheffield told The New York Times on Wednesday. The Yankees and Mets reportedly were in discussions about a possible Sheffield-for-Mike Cameron swap.

"If I have to go somewhere, I won't go," the Yankees' slugger told The Times. "If they said 'wouldn't you want to get paid', I'd say 'I've got plenty of money.' I'm not playing nowhere else, I can promise you that."

Sheffield is signed through 2006 and does not have a no-trade clause in his contract. He signed a three-year, $39 million contract in December 2003.

The Yankees reportedly are interested in upgrading their defense by placing Cameron in center. The Mets would add another powerful bat to the middle of their order with Sheffield, who plays right field for the Yankees.

Sheffield seemed to hedge in another interview with MLB.com, saying he would want concessions for signing off on any trade.

"If I have to go somewhere else, a lot of things are going to have to be changed or you're going to have an unhappy player," Sheffield told MLB.com.

"I'll ask for everything. Period. You want to inconvenience me, I'm going to inconvenience every situation there is," he added. "The only reason I'm playing is that I wanted to play for the Yankees. If I don't get that opportunity, things change."

Sheffield, who negotiated his current contract personally with Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, did say that he wouldn't hold out if he were to be traded.

"I would never sit out," Sheffield told MLB.com. "I'd go play, but that doesn't mean I'll be happy playing. If I'm not happy, you don't want me on your team. It's that simple. I'll make that known to anybody."

Knowing the Yankees, this is just a rumor. Why would the Yankees get rid of Sheffield. The problem is in cneter field not right. The yankees spent 3 years trying to replace Paul O'niell. The Yankes do this every time around teh trade deadline. they put out a rumor and have people talking and go out and get someone noone expected. They did it Dave Justice and Cecil Fielder and Loiza. I'll beleive it when I see it. I DO NOT want Sheffield traded. We need Sheff. Its bad enough they let Jon Leiber walk. Mark Kotsay is who we need in center field and 2 more pitchers. It's a rumor. Cashman probably made a phone call and got the rumor rolling. The deal also includes Miguel cairo who should of never left the Yankees to begin with. If Sheffield goes we're really in trouble. Sheffield bring in 30 or more HRs a season and over 100 RBIs. Not worth it.

There is no way Cameron is a better player then Sheffield, Cameron is better in the field but that is about it. And saying Sheffield is old, how did he do last year? He was runner up for the MVP, if Vlad's team didn't make a great run at the end of the season to make the playoffs, Sheff would have been the MVP. And what happened to the Mets fans wanting Victor Diaz to replace Cameron, now they think Cameron is the best think since sliced cheese. You guys make me laugh.
