Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) You know what I do? Not go to the fuckin games LOL
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) And it's not just me because the Mets suck, Yankees can't sell out anymore at all
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) Shit, even Mets vs Yankees wasn't sold out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) That never happened in the 90s
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 AM) ghetto fries
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:05 AM) whats amusing is at nationals stadium the staff is the worst
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:05 AM) they don't give a shit
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:05 AM) specially sunday morning
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:06 AM) How so?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:06 AM) Do they make you watch the Nationals?
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:06 AM) every time they handed me my food or what not then i had to go to the register to pay i just walked away because the queue was too long
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:06 AM) people running the registers just go super slow
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:07 AM) no one there is in charge of making sure the customers are following the process
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:11 AM) Wait, you pay after you get your food?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:11 AM) How does that even work?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:11 AM) Everywhere you pay when you place your order
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 AM) well its decided getting some booze tomorrow afternoon and drinking every time i head lebron's head band referenced
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 AM) like i said the concession stands are a mess
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 AM) You might die
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 AM) there were multiple people behind the counter
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:13 AM) so you could just go up to it and ask for what you wanted and 1 out of the 5 people would be on a single register
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:13 AM) so eventually you were just handed your food
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:13 AM) expecting for someone to approach the register you were standing infront to charge you
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:13 AM) or you were led to believe maybe you had to go line up to the one that had a cashier with people already waiting on it
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:14 AM) so a lot of the times when i was just handed the food i requested i would stand there look around see them go back to being distracted on their boost mobile phones or whatever reason and walked away
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:14 AM) i got 6 pretzels like this for the group i was with and 3 hot dogs
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:15 AM) my ticket one time had like 5$ towards concessions or what not their scanner wasnt working at the register so it wasnt reading it right or she didnt know what she was doing. she tried to scan it 3 times then litterally just turned away so i was standing there asking if it was all good no one answered so i just walked away with the food
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:18 AM) probably doesn't help that they are hiring people from one of the worst parts of dc
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:19 AM) in fact all the stadiums in dc are in very low income areas probably to exploit this work force
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 12:31 AM) No stadiums are in low income areas because that's how they get municipal bonds to finance construction. "Look, we're giving black people jobs! Pay for our stadium!!!"
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:32 AM) right
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:48 PM) New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will face a lawsuit for allegedly shooting a man after an altercation at a Miami strip club.

TMZ.com broke news of this stunning development, as the lawsuit was filed in Florida federal court on Wednesday—five days prior to authorities searching Hernandez's Massachusetts home for an apparently unrelated homicide case.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 02:41 PM) A well-placed source told Paul Lukas, who writes Uni Watch for ESPN.com, that Revis paid safety Mark Barron $50,000 to get the No. 24 from the second-year safety.
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 04:06 PM) I've watched about 3 minutes of ESPN today and have already heard the word "headband" twice.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 04:13 PM) yea i'm going to get hammered
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 05:29 PM) that left side of japan is no joke
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 05:33 PM) damn that was so karate
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 05:45 PM) http://i.minus.com/iqVziQ4MnbBdg.gif
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 06:57 PM) James Gandolfini passed away
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 06:58 PM) he was 51, suspected heart attack
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 07:01 PM) I guess that means no soprano movie
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:14 PM) he was also a JETS fan
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 07:46 PM) That's a surprising death but him dying of a heart attack is not a surprise.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) Anyone had him in the pool?
santana Icon : (Today, 12:16 AM) nope

Just an inspiring video to remind you of how awesome Curtis Martin really was...

When there is speak of a potential Jets-Giants Superbowl, I can't help but think about Curtis Martin. So I thought maybe you'd like to reflect on his years as a Jet as well.

Here's exactly why Curtis is my favorite Martin. Whenever given the chance to reflect on his success, he always praises his coach. How many times you hear a RB do that nowadays? He's definitely a throwback.

Did the Jets retire his number yet?

Nope. They should do him and Chrebet the same day. I'd do whatever I can to be at that game for the ceremony.

Definatly! At The Jets-Rams game, Chrebet was being interviewed at the ESPN Radio Tent and there were so many fans watching and cheering him on! I love Curtis, but Waynes probably the favorate Jet I ever got to watch play, and when he took the hit thats pic is in my sig, it felt like a member of my family was takin the hit!.

Honestly... I like Wayne Cherbet and I relaize his journey but he's not a hofer. I think the Jets should retire his number (through the team) but he's not national football league hall of famer.

Flame away!

I still see Curtis on Sunday - and Monday through Saturday as well. His 1999 McFarlane has pride of place on my bookshelf. Sometimes I pick him up & run him around my alarm clock & knock Bart Simpson out the way before jumping into the wife's bowl of pot pourri - its a pity that was the only bowl he was ever in!

Im not doubting you on that, hes like a Jets Bernie Williams, not a HOF, but you will never meet a Jets fan that doesnt love him. Thats why I always liked him, he was never drafted and played with the big dogs for 10 years. He was great, not tall, but faught like he was 6' 10.

But back to Curtis, I love how he was, like someone said before, he didnt talk about what he did to become great, but what others did to help him to become great. He is a living story of how you can litterally look death in the eyes(He was shot at point blank 8 times but the gun never went, and then the gun was pointed away from him and did shoot) and turned his life around and became the player and person we knew to love.

I also loved the story of how a kid sent Curtis a birthday party invitation when he was first drafted and Curtis actually went to the kids birthday party.

Here to Number 28!! drinks.gif

while there is no way Wayne gets into the NFL hall of fame .. he will forever be in the Jets HOF .. #80 has been my gameday jersey for the last 10 years .. and it will be for the next 10

Id love to see it retired .. but I know generaly the rule with the Jets is HOF to get the number retired .. but with #73 paving the way .. maybe another Jersey guy can get a little love

and as for Curtis .. there are not enough good things you can say about that guy .. on and off the field 100% class all the way .. watching him dive into the end zone on opening day a few years back ( same game Wayne made his concussion comeback BTW) .. but watching that game was a great afternoon in E Rutherford NJ .. his generosity still effects me on a daily basis .. when ever I stuff a dollar in the help the homeless jugs in NYC .. I think .. what would Curtis do

I also am planning to be in Canton when they induct Curtis

i mean, after watching Maynard13's sig over and over for like 10 minutes, it just made me realize how amazing Curtis Martin really was. A true throwback football player, and a great teammate. I feel like, had he been healthy and still running, the Jets would hands down be Super Bowl favorites.

What gets me is that I went to Penn State and was surrounded by Steelers fans constantly. Whenever I mentioned how great Curtis Martin is all I hear about is Jerome Bettis. Bettis was a scrub compared to Martin and he is twice his size! Whats more is how they don't even realize Martin was born and raised in Pitt and deserves to be praised there as a folk hero just like any other hometown hero. But since he didn't play there they don't care. What a joke. Jerome f***ing Bettis is gonna go into the hall the year before Curtis and he'll be compared to Steelers greats, but when Curtis goes in he'll be compared to Payton, Sanders, and Smith because guess what, he's number two all-time. Not to mention he's the only man to start his career with 10 straight 1,000 yard seasons, Sanders didn't have one his first year. Curtis is the type of player you can legitimately call a hero or a role model, not like most of the other jokers kids look up to today.

Curtis has not been out of the game long enough to be considered a throw back and it was just 2 weeks ago when I said in a post how Curtis would have a field day behind this Oline.he is not out of our minds at all. biggrin.gif
