Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 11:59 PM) yeah but hes white and a patriot
santana Icon : (Today, 12:00 AM) goodell is busy banning handbags from stadiums
santana Icon : (Today, 12:00 AM) this country is priming its self for a massive protest this handbag shit is retarded
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) They are so f***ing stupid
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) Like people need more reasons to stay at home for the game
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) Honestly, at this point, the only way I'd go to an NFL game was A. Free tickets B. Tickets were close enough to the field that I felt like I could heckle a player and be heard
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) its not stupid its actually genius
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) the problem is i know for sure the evil genius behind it is dan snyder and other owners pushing for this shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) they want their new stadiums to inhale your money from the minute you enter its zipcode
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Genius in the sense that you force people to spend more money
santana Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) right
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Baseball stadiums started doing this since right after 9/11
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) I used to go to Mets games as a kid with a subway hero
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Now I gotta drop $30 for a burger with fries
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) You know what I do? Not go to the fuckin games LOL
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) And it's not just me because the Mets suck, Yankees can't sell out anymore at all
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Shit, even Mets vs Yankees wasn't sold out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) That never happened in the 90s
santana Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) ghetto fries
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) whats amusing is at nationals stadium the staff is the worst
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) they don't give a shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) specially sunday morning
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) How so?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) Do they make you watch the Nationals?
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) every time they handed me my food or what not then i had to go to the register to pay i just walked away because the queue was too long
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) people running the registers just go super slow
santana Icon : (Today, 12:07 AM) no one there is in charge of making sure the customers are following the process
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Wait, you pay after you get your food?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) How does that even work?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Everywhere you pay when you place your order
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) well its decided getting some booze tomorrow afternoon and drinking every time i head lebron's head band referenced
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) like i said the concession stands are a mess
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) You might die
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) there were multiple people behind the counter
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so you could just go up to it and ask for what you wanted and 1 out of the 5 people would be on a single register
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so eventually you were just handed your food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) expecting for someone to approach the register you were standing infront to charge you
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) or you were led to believe maybe you had to go line up to the one that had a cashier with people already waiting on it
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) so a lot of the times when i was just handed the food i requested i would stand there look around see them go back to being distracted on their boost mobile phones or whatever reason and walked away
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) i got 6 pretzels like this for the group i was with and 3 hot dogs
santana Icon : (Today, 12:15 AM) my ticket one time had like 5$ towards concessions or what not their scanner wasnt working at the register so it wasnt reading it right or she didnt know what she was doing. she tried to scan it 3 times then litterally just turned away so i was standing there asking if it was all good no one answered so i just walked away with the food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:18 AM) probably doesn't help that they are hiring people from one of the worst parts of dc
santana Icon : (Today, 12:19 AM) in fact all the stadiums in dc are in very low income areas probably to exploit this work force
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:31 AM) No stadiums are in low income areas because that's how they get municipal bonds to finance construction. "Look, we're giving black people jobs! Pay for our stadium!!!"
santana Icon : (Today, 12:32 AM) right

It's another Football Sunday, and things are getting very interesting for our hometown teams, which means I've got a lot to say.

And what better place to begin than with your J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!

Great win Thursday night, all you Jets fans. Great win. Huge win. Team is looking solid. A subway Super Bowl is in the works.

And here I am, egg on my face, right? Remember? Remember back in the summer, I ran through the Jets sked, and showed how terrible they would be, and then everyone had a great time pointing out I was going through the 2007 schedule? And then I apologized, and went through the 2008 schedule and pointed out how this team would finish 8-8?

Remember?

Egg on my face, right?

Wrong-o, Favre-o.

According to my column dated Aug. 15 — you could look it up — I had Gang Green sitting at 7-3 at this point in the season. In other words, so far, so good.

Now, I will admit the team is looking livelier than I had imagined in the heat of training camp. Favre, for the first time in his life, seems to playing within his abilities and not trying to break his own record for "most wildly inappropriate passes, season."

Add in what's become a fearsome defense, and this is a team to be reckoned with. Right?

Well, let's go back and see what I had to say about the Jets remaining schedule back in August. Again, you could look it up at www.trentonian.com in case you think I'm fibbing.

Week 12: At Tennessee, where they are simply outmatched.

Week 13: Broncos at home, and remember, Brett Favre does not play well in the cold. Jay Cutler does. Broncos take this one in OT.

Week 14: At San Francisco: San Francisco will be improved, and late-season games for East Coast teams on the West Coast spells trouble, and the Jets fall to 7-6.

Week 15: Bills at home. Cold weather Brett, again.

Week 16: At Seattle. See week 14.

Week 17: Dolphins at home. At least they'll close out with a victory, evening their record at 8-8.

Hmmmph. Not exactly a far-fetched scenario up there, eh? Granted, I doubt they will embark on a five-game losing streak, but the games at Tennessee, San Fran and Seattle would scare me, and I keep telling anyone who will listen that Favre loses his mind in the cold ... 9-7, 10-6, tops. Maybe they backdoor into the playoffs. Maybe.

One team that probably won't be doing any backdooring is the Eagles.

At 5-4, they face a near-impossible climb to the playoffs. Three road games against the Ravens, Giants and Redskins are not going to make the job any easier. So not only would they have to win at least one of those three games, but then they'd have to win out against the Bengals, Cardinals, Browns and Cowboys to finish at 10-6. And even if they do that, they'd still be in a battle against the 'Skins, Bucs, Falcons and maybe Cowboys, Bears or Vikings for two playoff spots.

If I were a Philly fan, I'd just bask in the glow of the Phillies and move on.

And then there's the New York Football Giants. They are clearly — Titans aside — the best team in the NFL. Tough schedule ahead, but even a 4-3 finish gives them a 12-4 record and home-field advantage throughout.

Go Giants. Back-to-back, anyone?

Brett Favre, who played in Green Bay for how many years, can't play in cold weather?

It's shocking that this guy is a Giants fan, lol. The fact that he said the Favre was bad in cold weather meanwhile he's played his whole record breaking career in one of the coldest cities is just plain stupid. The guy who wrote this is probably 15 years old.
“We know we’re better than you, we don’t give a f*ck if you know it or not, we don’t give a sh*t if you give us your best game, we’re gonna give you our best game and we’re gonna beat the f*ck outta ya. How’s that?”

This is beyond retarded. Jets vs. floundering Bills at the Meadowlands? C'mon. The 49ers and the Steamless Seahawks? He's one of those Giant fans who argues that Aaron Ross is better than Revis.

The thing thats humorous is that I doubt the 7-3 he predicted had us beating the Patriots... So considering he was wrong in who he picked, you don't really get overall credit.

I think we all knew, from the start, we would never get 'respect', we just dont get it. Sadly, if we won the superbowl, I bet they'd show more Highlights from Brett Favres Superbowl as a Packer, to give a simulation, than as a Jet. Thats just how it works, were the 4th(?) biggest NFL Franchise in terms of value but were treated at like 20th for some reason....

That guy obviously has no true knowledge of football or really just has a hate for the Jets he cant get over.

He is not even worth the time of getting worked up over his idiotic article.

After reading his mishap, it tells me he has no experiences reviewing teams potentials or scoutings. I would expect that from some1 of his stature.

He's grasping at straws, and chalking up losses entirely to a fabrication he calls "Cold Weather Brett". Oh and by the way, San Fransisco will have "improved" by the time we play them so we automatically lose. You know what? This is just too much stupid for me to handle.

Like I said this guy really shows that he knows nothing about football.Guys like this I just laugh at and pay no mind to.If I got worked up over what every stupid person that talked literal nonsense about football Id be one stressed out mothr fcker. These type of fans usually cant tell you the players on their own favorite team let alone talk about football with some real insightful and knowledgeable intelligence.
The best reply to idiots like that is not to reply at all.

The reason for this is for the past 40 some odd years the jets have been a joke of a franchise, from their laughable first rd draft picks to their usual collapse in the 4th qtr & the old "here we go again" or "same old jets" statements by us jet fans. It wasn't until Bill Parcells took over that this team received some respect (not counting the 69' season & even then we were 18.5 point underdogs). No one remembers the atrocious play of the 49's in the 60's & 70's because the 80's & 90's 49's made everyone forget, heck you can even say that about the pre-Dungy Bucs, but now the Bucs are considered a decent team & garner some respect around the league. What we need is to win a championship & to consistently be in the running for more than a decade to change the perception that the rest of the league has about us until then we will always be considered a joke. Hopefully this season is just the beginning of the jets dominating their opponents for the next couple of decades... biggrin.gif
