Jets drop game vs packers MNf next
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) The should have made sure he knew who was calling the time out. Hell Rex was on his right and Marty was on his left.
mgjetman Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) Getting lazy with a minute 50 on the clock before half was the nail in the coffin.
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:48 PM) The ref
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:49 PM) There is plenty of blame to spread around. No team should lose a 17 point lead anyway.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:50 PM) DUDS - Miliner and Marty
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:50 PM) BRUTAL LOSS
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:52 PM) I really don't blame Marty because it's the refs job to make sure he sees who is calling the timeout. Plus the ball had already been snapped before he even noticed somebody was calling a TO.
mgjetman Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:53 PM) Just gave that game away. WTH!!!
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:54 PM) He didn't even blow the whistle until Geno already had dropped back to pass. The play was already well underway.
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:03 PM) I heard it when the ball was already in the air
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) but it shouldn't of come down to that TO blunder
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) we did give up a 18 point lead
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) so we fucked up and lost
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) True
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) time to get ready for MNF
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) Well it sucks when you start to feel the jets are going to lose the game them selves
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) the Vick play worthless
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) that run on 3rd and 5 worthless
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) chris Johnson also I don't know what his numbers were but ivory seemed to be a better back
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:13 PM) Marty just picks the worse time to call those wildcat plays
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:13 PM) they are drive killers
ROBJETS Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:27 PM) Problem is the corners. We knew this before the start of the season. I was amazed at how well they did last week and the first half but eventually the weakness showed
ROBJETS Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:28 PM) The corner positions will be addressed next year. Technically we are still in a rebuilding phase.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:39 PM) we did go toe to toe against a SB contender and we really shouldn't be heartbroken but if you call yourself a JETS fan and aren't a little pissed over a W that we had in our control then you need to go and hand in your JETS gear ... I'm looking at you 115
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:24 PM) 18 penalties in 2 games
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:25 PM) unacceptable
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:27 PM) Geno dropped from #1 to #28 in TOTAL QBR
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:10 PM) Cutler just got popped right in the chest
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:11 PM) that was a squared up right in the middle of the chest hit
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:13 PM) nice one handed catch by Marshall
MikeGangGree... Icon : (14 September 2014 - 10:06 PM) NFL rules state that only the head coach can call a timeout on the sidelines…

Except in Green Bay where anybody up to the third row can call a timeout.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (14 September 2014 - 10:06 PM) I love NFL memes
MikeGangGree... Icon : (14 September 2014 - 11:30 PM) Well I will be at the game next Monday night
MikeGangGree... Icon : (14 September 2014 - 11:30 PM) So I will be doing everything I can to help our team win!!
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:15 AM) 2nd year in a row we should be 2-0
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 12:17 PM) TIMEOUT!!
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 08:05 PM) SPIDER Y 2 BANANA

- Why haven’t the Jets arranged a press conference announcing the signing of Ty Law? Why haven’t I seen Law holding up a green and white number 24 jersey while flashbulbs sparkle around him in Hempstead? Why isn’t he apartment hunting around the greater metropolitan area at this very moment? What could possibly be holding the Jets brass back from rolling out the red carpet for Ty Law; someone who has been arguably the best player at his position for the last six seasons? Why are the Jets the only team in New York willing to whimper around when it comes to signing free agents?

Doesn’t Terry Bradway and company realize that the window is just about a quarter of the way open for then in the AFC East? With the Patriots losing both Charlie Weiss and Romeo Crennel (their offensive and defensive coordinators) the top spot in the division is realistically in the Jets’ grasp. Ty Law is the type of player who not only can help swing that window wide open but also fill a position which is one of the Jets most glaring holes.

I know Law desires a large contract based on his past performance but I would assume it is becoming abundantly clear to Mr. Law’s agent that the blockbuster deal he is looking for isn’t out there. Many teams get extremely nervous when it comes to handing over bushels of cash to a player coming off a serious injury.

For those of you who don’t know a bushel is equal to four pecks which are little kisses. Man math is confusing. I digress.

This is where the Jets should come in and show a level of decisiveness and swagger that they have lacked for far too long.

The Jets should have the wherewithal to create team friendly contract that will also knocks the socks off of Ty Law so that is becomes nothing more than a formality that he sign. Something with enough guaranteed money to keep him happy and creative incentives based on playing time and performance requirements which are attainable enough for a healthy player of Law’s abilities.

Rehabbing, healthy, or injured, Ty Law should be a Jet. Law in a cast is better than almost anyone else the Jets march out this coming fall. They need to show some aggression and get this done.

Bradway has to realize that he is no longer in Kansas City where coming in second place (and sometimes third) when it comes to signing premier free agents is forgivable. The Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Giants, and even the Nets would not get away with a similar off-season track record without getting ripped apart in print and on the airwaves.

The Jets were a missed field goal or two away from an AFC championship game last year, now it is time to make the next step. They solved one problem by drafting Mike “Cat Scratch Fever Nugent (wow, two 80’s metal references in one article, I feel like a writer for Joe Dirt), now it is time to solve another problem; a secondary that gives up too many big plays.

Ty Law is the player the Jets need. Someone with a chip on his shoulder who has something to prove and what may be a personal vendetta against the very franchise the Jets need to overcome if they want to win their division.

Am I the only one who has visions of Tom Brady passes getting picked off and run back? Watch as opposing wide receivers are manhandled and stymied by Law?

It is time for the Jets to make amends for past embarrassments when it comes to free agents. No longer should they need to resort to plan B or C. They play and operate in the big apple and it is time they act like it.

Don't worry about it, it happens. I'll lock it.
Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.
