Gary Russel, he did not play this year becaue he was "academically ineligble". Gopher fans have said he has basically no character or disicpline problems. his stats in 05 were 186 carries for 1130 yards and 18 TDs backing up Maroney. we could probably get him in the 3rd or 4th round, and would be a huge steal moe than likely.

He's a possibility, it depends how he does at the combine. I don't understand why he would come out though especially after not playing this entire season, and not getting many looks.

I don't think that he'll declare, just because he has the chance to be the feature back if he goes to class. Gophers are getting a new coach, and there is the recognition of MN backs doing well, so he might think about it, but he has to show something as a starter first. Maybe a 4-5th rounder now, but after seeing Maroney and Barber go higher, I think he'll stay and try and move himself up a few rounds. He will be worth a look, but not until next year.

Must have, I can't find him on the Gopher roster or in next year's outlook, he may have just left the team altogether after his graded dropped. Again, maybe a 4-5th round pick, let's see who we can get in the 1st.
