i am being offered Westbrook, Franks and Ricky Williams for Steven Jackson and Jason Witten. What would you do?

dont make that.jackson might have a big year so can witten.westbrook is ok.but rickywont start because brown will have it.

depend on if u need another HB. i wouldn't count out rickey. espicially as a back-up being the goaline guy down there. if your league gives points for receptions than i say do it. westbrook is a top 3 back if u count receptions. i remember one game he had like 3 TDs and 13rec for over 100 yards and that wasn't including rushing either. if u don't count receptions its a tough call. i'm not sure jackson can flourish in that pass happy offense and piss poor defense. whitten could be a top TE but now with bledsoe in he doesn't throw to TEs as much as vinny did (remember how much vinny threw to becht for us) so his numbers should fall. franks just got a new deal so his numbers could go up. to make it short i say yes

Even if your league counts receptions, it might not be worth it depending on how many points they get. Jackson is a huge stud in the making and could easily get in the 1200 rush yard and 400-500 recyard range. The Rams still dump off a lot of passes to their RBs, so he could get a lot. He has looked good receiving out of the back field this preseason, so expect good things from him.
Since Jason Witten is better than Franks (more yards, similars TDs) the trade comes down to how you rank Jackson vs WEstbrook and Williams. You could probably pick up a sleeper candidate as good as Williams out of the FA pool, so I would say no.

Westbrook had over 70 rec last year, that’s 70 points right there. Faulk is gonna be the third down back and take away yards and Rec. Jackson might only get 15 carries a game and a few Rec. westbrook is the man in philly. Nobody behind him to take reps. Whitten will fall off. Bledsoe throws to WRs not Tes. Testeverde loves the TE that’s why whitten had a great year.
Westbrook only started 12 games last year and had 73rec for 703 yards and 812 rushing yards for a total yards of 1515 and a total of 9TDs now stretch that to 16 games and its 97rec. 2020 total yards and 12TDs. Plus with no real number 2 WR he will be counted on more as a receiver.
Jackson on the other hand is tough to judge but I guarantee faulk will get some touches. Jackson averaged 5 yards. Even if he keeps it up (he wont) and gets 15 carries a game (don’t expect more) it will be 1200 yards and his receiving yards won’t be enough to push him to over 2000 yards. Westbrook is very underrated. And all the TDs for them are aired out. bulger to holt and bruce not to the RBs really

Not every league gives a full point for a single reception, some have a 1-5 ratio (etc). That is why I say it depends on how your league scores. There are so many FFLs that score differently it is hard to talk about it sometimes. In a 1-5 league, Westbrook scored a lot less. In my league it is 1-10 and double for "unconventional" TDs so he scored pretty well, but not in the top 15. It just depends. For example, in leagues that award points for rushing totals (mine gives points for every 20 carries) Westbrook has trouble competing with the top backs because he rarely ever gets to that number.
He also isn't a guy who will score you a lot of points in actual RB style. Last year he only managed two games with over 100 rushing yards and totaled 800 yards and 3 TDs. All in all, Westbrook only had 1500 total yards and 9 TDs. In an average fantasy football league (that doesn't have a 1-1 Points-receptions ratio), he just doesn't have the potential to be more than a decent number two.
Now for Jackson:
Faulk will get his touches, but they won't be goal line (Jackson is a better short yardage back) and he won't be the guy to run down the clock when the Rams need that (Jackson picks up positive yardage more consistantly). In the past, when the Rams had him healthy, Faulk would compile a lot of yards late in games when the team was ahead and the opposing defense wound down. He had about 50 yards in the 4th quarter one game.
Martz is going to make more of a commitment to the running game this season, particularly against the blitz (he ran on 6 of 7 plays against Detroit's blitz early in the game, right untill they backed off and stopped bringing pressure). He hasn't had a featured back the last few years, as Faulk has been injured and none of their back ups have stepped up enough. But Jackson is now "the guy" in St Louis and will get the lion's share of the carries. He may not get 20 a game
As for his receptions, like I said, the Rams always dump off a lot to their RBs. Last year, as a rookie, Jackson started just three games but had 189 receiving yards on 19 receptions. There is a lot of room to catch and run when Holt, Bruce, etc are all running deep patterns, and the St Louis backs have always been able to take advantage of this. During the three years Faulk started at least 14 games for the Rams, he averaged just over 60 yards, half a TD, and 5 receptions a game. Even half of those numbers still puts Jackson in the area of 400 yards and 4 TDs.
A lot of people outside of the St Louis area don't realise how dangerous the Rams offense will be this year now that it has a featured back (and, I'll add, Faulk coming into this season for the first time in three years without having offseason surgery). They also have the best OLine since their Super Bowl loss to the Patriots with everyone being in camp together throughout the preseason. The last time they had those this same Rams offense put up record and near record numbers.
Here are my (honest) predections (not overprojecting at all) for the Rams big offensive players (approx, rounded off):
Bulger: 4600passing yards, 35passingTDs, 14 INTs (70rushyards, 5rushTDs)
Holt: 1600 rec yards, 14 rec TDs
Bruce:1100rec yards, 7rec TDs
Curtis:600rec yards, 4rec TDs
Jackson:1250rushyards, 8rushTDs (400recyards, 4recTDs)
Faulk: 400 rush yards, 1rush TDs (250rec yards, 2 rec TDs)
That leaves some yards and TDs to go around to their TE and 4th/5th receivers.
And yes, I am serious about these numbers. The Rams are going to blow away some teams this year, and I'm looking at the 49ers and Seahawks as prime targets.

in my league last year westbrook was the 3rd best scoring RB behind d.davis and t.barber. LT was 4th. it gives a point each reception
