My IBM ThinkPad has stopped working and I don't understand why and would like to know if anyone can offer some help?

I accidentally dropped a glass on the desk the ThinkPad was on and all of a sudden it won't turn on. It worked once for 10 minutes before the battery cut out but now it just won't switch on or do anything. I know they're sensitive but I don't know laptops were that sensitive.
I've tried removing the battery pack and putting it back in but that doesn't work either. Help guys please because I'll be in the shit with my Dad if it is completely broke. blowup.gif

There was no water in the glass and I didn't drop the glass on my laptop, I dropped it on the desk my laptop was on.

if there's no physical damage, then just act natural. leave it where it normally is, and when your dad wants to use it, play completely stupid as if you don't know what's going on. tell him "it worked fine for me yesterday" and let him wonder what he did to it.

Logically, I don't see any reason why dropping something near the laptop would make it stop working, though.

It fell pretty hard and as a ThinkPad it's quite reactive to any kind of vibrations. I'm going to take into a shop sometime this weekend to see what the problem is.
