Obviously he didn't hit as much as his teammate did last year, but a win is a win. Ryan Howard, 2006 Home Run Derby Champion! He better like that trophy because thats the only trophy that he and the rest of the Phillies are going to see this year.

I don't think he was. I know he was up for the final spot but I don't think he got voted in.

Seeing that there is only one home run derby a year, then i think it would be safe to assume that was a re-run.

You have to admit, the underdog, the smallest guy on the field, put on the best show of the day, David Wright. I think he put it best when he said, " Ryan can have the home run trophy if the Mets can have the NL East."

Howard had an advantage because he got to go last in every round. Abreu didn't even come close in All-Star voting, hes having a horrible year. He was an idiot to hit all those homeruns in last years derby because he hasn't been able to get his swing back on track since then.

i knew wright wasnt going to win, and even though ryan howard is a phillie, i was glad it was an all nl showdown because at least i can feel that one day in a couple years the nl will be on par or better than the al.

Yes that was stupid of him! Why would he even think of hitting home runs in a Home Run Derby? Thats just asinine!
