Jets hire Maccagnan as GM and Bowles as HC. Who's starting the billboard fundraiser?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:14 PM) There are some decent FAs I hope we go after, we have like $48 mil in cap space, plus more once we get rid of Chris Johnson and Calvin Pace.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:14 PM) We'll have over $50 mil to spend
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:52 PM) sign everyone!!!!
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:54 PM) I'd love to grab Cobb, Julius Thomas, and Mike Iupati
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:56 PM) Lol for someone who doesn't like me and doesn't pay attention to what I have to say, GG sure loves talking about me
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:56 PM) It's ok though buddy I love you
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:57 PM) We just need a QB to throw to them
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:17 PM) Cobb isn't leaving the Packers
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:18 PM) I hope we keep Harvin
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:28 PM) I like Harvin but I don't think we should pay him that much
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:29 PM) but if we can get a WR keep him
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:40 PM) idk how cap works sometime
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:41 PM) how can Denver have 31 mil in space?
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:43 PM) but I guess since they have to pay both Thomas this year that will go fast
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:45 PM) and have to pay miller next year
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:20 PM) Are they not counting PEyton Manning?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:22 PM) A lot of their players increase cap hits after this season
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:22 PM) you can work the numbers
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:25 PM) if we release Harvin, we won't get him back most likely. Hes the most dynamic offensive player we have had in a while.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:26 PM) Plus he has no guaranteed money so we can release him at any time for no cap hits. Maybe they can rework his contract, but I hope we keep him
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:26 PM) I think he will awesome in Chan's offense, maybe worth the $10 mil
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:40 PM) We still have to pay Mo too
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:47 PM) yup. We also happen to be in the big years of Mangolds' and Brick's contracts
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:48 PM) Brick either restructures after this season or is released, noway he stays at $14 mil
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:48 PM) I think he does restructure though, can't imagine Brick wanting to play elsewhere. I see him as a career Jet
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:51 PM) need to re-sign Demario Davis and Damon Harrison as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:52 PM) they shouldn't cost much though
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:57 PM) I'd really love to bring in Franklin or Iupati
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:59 PM) Franklin, Iupati, or Boling I would be happy with. We need a good OG.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:59 PM) I think that Oday would be fine as a starter for one spot, he showed promise. Plus it would be a competition between Oday, Winters, and Dozier.
Chadforpresi... Icon : (Yesterday, 12:31 PM) Iupati would be a great signing. If Harvin doesn't restructure I would not be opposed to cutting him
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:47 PM) See this is why you can't be taken seriously harlem
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:47 PM) Orlando Franklin is a FLAG machine
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:48 PM) he'd just be our 2014 version of Colon
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:48 PM) HELL NO TO ORLANDO
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:42 PM) Still paying attention to what I say, huh?
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:43 PM) You are the wind beneath my wiiiiiiiings
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:46 PM) 0099 said he'd be happy with Franklin too, but you only bitch about when I said it. Seems legit
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:12 PM) it is legit cause you're wasting bandwith with that bullsh*t
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:43 PM) Wasting bandwidth saying I want a certain player when someone else said they wanted the exact same player?
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:43 PM) How much activity was my one sentence really cluttering lol
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:44 PM) Like I said GG I still love you
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:46 PM) http://youtu.be/c9ZMDPf9hZw

MOCK DRAFT: Mel Kiper's Initial First-Round Projection | Jan. 25

This initial projection is based on what I've identified as key need areas for each team.

There are 16 underclassmen among my projections for the first 32 picks of the 2007 NFL draft, including two of the top three. LSU junior quarterback JaMarcuss Russell gets the nod as the first overall pick, and North Carolina State defensive tackle Tank Tyler rounds out my first-round projections as the No. 32 overall selection to Indianapolis.

1. Oakland Raiders: *JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
2. Detroit Lions: Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: *Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
4. Cleveland Browns: Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
5. Arizona Cardinals: *Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
6. Washington Redskins: *Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
7. Minnesota Vikings: Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
8. Houston Texans: *Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
9. Miami Dolphins: *Ted Ginn, Jr., WR, Ohio St.
10. Atlanta Falcons: LaRon Landry, S, LSU
11. San Francisco 49ers: *Reggie Nelson, DB, Florida
12. Buffalo Bills: Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
13. St. Louis Rams: *Charles Johnson, DE, Georgia
14. Carolina Panthers: Levi Brown, OT, Penn St.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers: *Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida
16. Green Bay Packers: *Marshawn Lynch, RB, California
17. Jacksonville Jaguars: *Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
18. Cincinnati Bengals: Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
19. Tennessee Titans: *Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC
20. New York Giants: *Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida St.
21. Denver Broncos: Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
22. Dallas Cowboys: *Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
23. Kansas City Chiefs: Tony Ugoh, OT, Arkansas
24. New England Patriots (from Seattle): *Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh
crazy.gif 25. New York Jets: Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU
26. Philadelphia Eagles: Aaron Ross, CB, Texas
27. New Orleans Saints: Daymeion Hughes, CB, California
28. New England Patriots: *Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio St.
29. Baltimore Ravens: Anthony Spencer, DE, Purdue
30. San Diego Chargers: Patrick Willis, LB, Mississippi
31. Chicago Bears: *Greg Olsen, TE, Miami (Fla)
32. Indianapolis Colts: Tank Tyler, DT, NC St.

I don't know why they have us taking a wr in the first round I don't get it.

Especially I wouldnt be suprise with the players left on the board. If Carriker, Okoye, Jarvis Moss, and the rest of the good front 7 guys that are needs for us.

Actually I wouldnt be suprised or upset if we drafted him there. Sure we have other needs, but he can be a pretty good WR. Most likely McCariens is going to be let go, so we need another WR eventually this offseason. Coles said he feels like he can only play like 3 more years, which would be good if we drafted him because it takes 3 years for us to develope WRs. Look at all of the WRs we drafted recentely, they all had breakout seasons in their 3rd season, Moss, Cotchery, Coles. So if we did draft this guy it would make sense, he is a big presences, big physical WR, which fits the Jets WRs since we been having some physical WRs in our history. He can be that big target for us in the redzone, which we need right now. Hes a nasty blocker! I would not be upset at all if we did draft him there, plus we have 2 2nd rounders to fill the d-line and o-line holes.

it's not that far off base . the team needs to fill this hole and has had to for a while . McCariens didn't do it .

i don't think they'll' use their first two picks though , if he fell to our 2nd second rounder , yes .
Once again I'm north-ward bound

I wondering, are you a Penn state fan?? You do relise Paul has no chance of being a good 3-4 LB, he is even worse then Vilma at getting off blocks. He is a 4-3 LB for sure.

Why draft a WR in the first though if you already have two quality starters. You draft players in the first so they can come in and start sooner rather than later and Bowe is just going to sit behind Cotchery and Coles if we take him. With the 3 year thing Coles and Cotchery were 3rd and 4th round picks respectively so they aren't expected to break into the starting lineup before their 3rd years really. Moss was a starter if I remember correctly alongside Coles and when Coles jumped ship he started opposite Curtis Conway and when he arrived Chrebet became #3. He did breakout in his 3rd year but he had been a starter before that.
There is a lot of WR talent in the draft and we'd be able to find a good one with the 2b and 3rd round picks whereas with OLB and DE the talent is going to be available mainly in the top 40 or so picks. If Kiper's prediction is how the draft did go I'd much rather take Anthony Spencer.

No Chrebet and Coles were the starters, Moss was the slot for his first 2 years, and started the 2003 season as the 3rd WR, behind Conway and Chrebet. Then Chrebet went down and Moss got the starting job. First round WRs especially late 1st round WRs, dont always start right away or are good right away. Im just saying if we were in that kind of postion, then I think they may draft him. Bowe will most likely be a first round WR, since he is putting his stock up alot in the senior bowl practices.

But if a guy like Spencer is on the board at the same time - a player who can play OLB in a 3-4 which is more of a need than WR who would you take? WR doesn't need much upgrading and I'd take Spencer. Even though late 1st rounders don't always contribute immediately, I'd rather take a guy (Spencer) who would have the best chance of making an impact earlier in his career than someone who is likely to be a slot WR and have little playing time (Bowe) earlier in his career.

I hear what your saying, but is Spencer even a 1st rounder? I thought that Spencer is projected to be 2nd or 3rd round pick. I like spencer though, the Jets have been talking to him this week, so they are defintely interested in a OLB, or DE for the 3-4, since that is who they been talking to. I dont think that the draft will be like this, some D-linemen has to fall, I am really hopeing on Carriker. He would be a great fit, since they said he could be a 4-3 DT. He be perfect for some 3-4 team, I cant see him being a 4-3 DE.
I also really like Jarvis Moss, I hope he falls to us too.

Its pretty hard to put guys like Bowe in a Mock draft before the scouting combine. 40' times are so crucial when it comes down to picking receivers unless you are a blue chip prospect like Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Jarrett, Ted Ginn etc.

We most likely wouldnt draft one, but it would make sense if there is little value everywhere else. WR is a need this offseason. Coles is getting old, since he said he is only going to play 3 more years. Plus we do need a good redzone target. But it would make more sense for the Jets to draft a WR, in like round 3.

I am by no means a Penn State. In fact they are one of the biggest rivals of my favorite college team. I'm so sick of all this 4-3 vs. 3-4 crap. Especially when it comes to players going from college to the pros. Some of the scouts said Vilma would do better in a 3-4 defense before the 2004 Draft (that has been wrong so far), as I've stated in the past I don't have much faith in scouting reports. I also don't think that Penn State's situation is the same as the Jets. I believe Posluszny can play outside (as well as inside) in the NFL and with Mangini as his coach I'd have even more confidence in him. The Jets getting the right NT would also get Vilma back on track (making him a force in the 3-4) and I bet back in the Pro Bowl.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

Just a note its not just the Jets who take 3 years to develop wr's, MOST WR'S take 3 years to adjust to the nfl, its an average of most of the good ones.

BOWE had problems holding on to the ball during practice this week but came on thursday .

he has people salivating because he's 6'-2" , he plays big , is physical , blocks well , and can go up and get the ball . he needs to be more consistent catching though . he is being labeled a prtototype west coast end .

at some point it would be nice to get this "type" on the team to round out the receiving corps with Coles and Cotchery who are short .

This year he had no problem catching balls. Even before he got his eyes fixed he was a ridculous freak of nature. IU can't wait until the combine to see what his Vertical leap his
