Jetsfan0099 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 04:53 PM) Sounds like it may not be as bad with Goodson. I could see him ending up with a 4 game suspension for possession, the gun charges probably going to the other guy.

In the midst of a horrible season, it is common for the seasoned Jet follower to lash out at frustrating idiosyncrasies of the organization that, normally would be tolerated during a competitive season, but now becomes a microcosm of the ineptitude and stubbornly arrogant personnel moves of the organization.

Somebody please explain to me this inherited, twisted love affair with the big, uncoordinated, SLOW, lumbering WHITE TIGHT END? From Kyle Brady to the recent aqcuisition of Doug Jolley, the Jets continue to waste time, money and draft picks on a position and player that quite frankly, does not warrant it.

I know that a couple of years ago, Jolley had a couple of good games against the Jets. Foolishly, like other idiotic organizations (see the Bruce Coslet led Bengals spending their money on the flat footed Neil O'Donnell years ago), the Jets got excited over a player who played well against THEM, not the rest of the league.

See, you want to believe that the people in charge of the team you support know more than you, via football savvy, experience, insider's track, etc. Then you watch these moves they make and you become enraged! These are not isolated incidents, but a culmination of blunders made year after year regardless of who is charge - we got a three year reprieve when Parcells was running the show. (he did draft Becht though - you cannot bat a thousand!)

Now of course, not everyone will agree with the decisions made by the organization. And sometimes, the decisions turn out to be the right ones. I am then man enough to admit that I was wrong and am happy I was! But when certain situations are so obvious, and when my friends call me after the Jolley trade to taunt me, BECAUSE they already know how stupid a move it was, and they don't even follow the Jets, it becomes difficult to digest!

Now the Jets would fire back with these wonderful physical attributes of size, height, speed, etc. etc. Everyone knows what they cannot say: THE WHITE TIGHT END will ALWAYS be average. Yes, there are a FEW, I mean FEW exceptions i.e. Jeremy Shockey. But, if you want a star, a go to guy, then you want someone who can effectively split the SEAM ala Marcus Pollard.

If you want a good blocker, then stick another lineman out there in running situations and call him a tight end! Don't waste picks on a player who is destined to fail because of his skin color!

This has to be the most rasist shi-t I have ever heard. Why don't we just say a black man can't be a good QB because he is to stupid. By the way the best tight ends in the game right now Shocky - white, Gonzalaz(granted having a bad year)- Hispanic, and Gates- black.

You are a f-in ignorant bastard to think that just cause a person is black they are better at a position.

Any good points you could have made were lost as soon as you made it a black/white issue. That is ridiculous. What the hell does the color have to do with it? Wake up! I'm locking this idiotic thread before it gets out of control. If you want to say Jolley was a wasted pick, I'll be the first to agree with you, but the fact that he's white has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
