ok, recently ive been playin a bit of soccer(yet of coarse football i still like more and am only playing football organized cause soccer and football r in the same season) and i got an idea, soccer could help allot of football players in the offseason, especially running backs. i thought of this because with soccer, u have to have quick feet, to keep the ball away from defenders, to dribble, and to do all them crazy moves. well if u play soccer, or learn to play it well, it would help u with making ur feet quicker. this would as a result help u in football in certain ways depending on position:
for a QB: it can make your feet quicker, meaning ur more agile, meaning u can move well in the pocket
for a RB: it can help u with juking, spinning, cuts, all those moves you need that involve agility.
for a WR: it can help u for running routes, such as a route that has the reciever break away(like a post route), if ur feet r quick(which soccer can develop) then u can break away quicker and make it harder for the coverage man to find u again, also the juking will be helped.
for a O-lineman: quick feet can help u take certain steps to get good leverage.
for a linebacker: linebackers have to be quick to catch up with the running back, ur feet r quick so the running back can't juke u.
for a d-lineman: pretty much the same reasons for o-lineman, and plus it will help u for moves to shed the blocker.
for a DB: pretty much the same in a way for the WR, when he breaks away, u can be right their.

If that happened Chad Pennington should be banned from taking throw ins and Mike Nugent not be on penalty kicks lol. Also DBrick or one of the OLinemen should be in goal, it'd be hard to get the ball past a big 300+ lb guy lol.
More seriously I think DBs would get more from playing soccer as playing defense means you have to cover guys like the fast strikers and mark them.
