thats 1 of the best drills to run for a team .also try teaching them to hit with tennis balls becuase they are hard to hit a long distance

i would just start with the basics..grounders teach them to go down for it with there legs sort of like a triangle and keep there head down and dont be afraid of the ball, pop ups teach them that there first steps should always be backwards.

Thats pretty much what i had in mind. we did that and it worked last year.
We have a practice tommorow, and i`m going to streach them out for a few. Make them run around the field twice. I`ll have them play catch for a lil bit and loosen up. I know who our pithers are pretty much,i`ll have them pratice pitching during a drill with an Asst. I`ll have all the kids (9-12 yrs old ) line up at SS have a guy on 2nd, and 1st. Practice grounders and call the play before i hit it to the SS ( man on first and no men on)?. Try to asess who can make the throw to first and second? I think i can get a feel or who can catch and can make the throw.
Let me know what you guys think?

But just play catch, do a drill where you throw around the infield and hit grounders to them in the infield, just some off my head in a short time, I'll tell ya more later on.
