this link gives side by side compairsons through screenshots of the same game at the same point and the 360 is noticible better (the PS3 is pretty damn good too though) and if u read the descriptions the 360 has better framerates and loads faster.

Proof The 360 Is Faster With Better Graphics Over The Ps3 from gamespot

Conclusion
The Xbox 360 had better graphics in almost all the games we examined. The 360's biggest victories were in Madden 07 and Fight Night Round 3, where the differences in texture detail and lighting stood out in our comparison shots. We couldn't capture this in the screenshots, but the Xbox 360 games generally offered better framerates too.
We're going to give the PS3 the benefit of the doubt in this initial round since developers might need more time to figure out how to maximize performance from the Cell and the RSX. If you look at the Xbox 360's first Madden game, Madden 06, you'll notice that it doesn't offer very realistic stadium shadows, either. The trouble with buying a console at launch is that you often have to wait for the second or third generation of games for the system to fulfill its potential. The PS3 didn't beat the 360 in this first comparison, but the games do look fine for first-generation titles. The real graphics battle will likely come next year.

wow.. you just got your 360 and you wanna spearhead the revolution lol.
i don't really care which is better. i bought the 360 and enjoy playing with it, whereas my friends who rushed for the PS3 are comin over from time to time to play Contra, Rainbow Six, Shadowrun, Gears of War, etc. No amount of specs, analysis, side by side comparisons, etc are really needed to tell me that I made the better purchase.
regardless, in a year or two's time, if the PS3 has some stuff on it that I feel I need, I don't have some relationship with Microsoft that I'll need to justify why I'll want a PS3. They're entertainment systems, and as it stands, the 360 is doing it's job best.
anyhow, these side by side comparisons aren't really a knock on the PS3, but more so a knock on the laziness of the developers. The first paragraph says it all.
Now, the fact is those games are still fairly new and aren't even at the 360's full potential yet, but those sentences imply that while the 360 versions look better, the PS3 is the one that should look better.

You'd think that the PS3 versions would be exactly the same or slightly superior to the Xbox 360 versions, since many of these games appeared on the 360 months ago, but it seems like developers didn't use the extra time to polish up the graphics for the PS3. We found that the Xbox 360 actually had better graphics in the majority of the games we compared.

i was just pointing out to all the sony fan boys a side by side comparison and the 360 is better. anyway yes gameplay is way more important. but games like gears, contra, DOA, oblivion were must haves for me. plus ninja gaiden 2, fable 2, jade empire 2 all slated to come out on the 360 it was really an easy choice to me. there isn't 1 PS3 exclusive game i'm excited about. everyone uses gran turismo but i think PGR and forza are beter games, and MGS i haven't liked since the VR missions. not a fan.
