So I said OK come get me nad bring me to the court house. (they are required in AZ to do so if requested). Needless to say I was excused.

Who is the world's best fighter, regardless of weight class? See my top 20 below.

Click here for my division-by-division rankings, from heavyweight to strawweight.

For a list of the current champions in all weight classes, click here.

The rankings are updated on the second Thursday of each month.

Note: Results through April 10.

TOP 10
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
1. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (37-0, 24 KOs)

Welterweight champion
Hits: Mayweather might be *beep*y, arrogant and delusional about how great he is, but we have to admit that when he gets going with one of his streams of consciousness he can be as entertaining as anyone in boxing. The "Pretty Boy" sure is doing his part to promote to the hilt his May 5 showdown with Oscar De La Hoya, and it's been a lot of fun so far.
Misses: Although De La Hoya has won belts in six divisions, Mayweather likes to rag on him about it, saying he's only been a real champion in four divisions. Mayweather, like many, disputes the validity of De La Hoya's paper titles at junior lightweight and middleweight. However, Mayweather likes to call himself a four-division champion. While he certainly won the legitimate title at junior lightweight, lightweight and welterweight, we strongly dispute his claim to the junior welterweight throne. He won a bogus belt in that division because he lifted it from Arturo Gatti, who had won a vacant title that had been stripped from Kostya Tszyu, the No. 1 fighter in the division at the time.
Manny Pacquiao
2. Manny Pacquiao (43-3-2, 33 KOs)

Junior lightweight
Hits: While trainer Freddie Roach has been in Puerto Rico working with De La Hoya, he missed Pacquiao's training camp in Los Angeles, where he prepared to fight Jorge Solis under the guidance of assistant trainer Justin Fortune. However, Roach is expected to jet from San Juan to San Antonio to work the corner on fight night, which can be only helpful to Pacquiao, who has grown close to Roach over the years.
Misses: Given the hatred between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions, whose latest battle is over Pacquiao's promotional contract, we might never see a rematch between Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.
Winky Wright
3. Winky Wright (51-3-1, 25 KOs)

Middleweight
Hits: While you can sure question Wright's business decisions -- turning down $5 million for a rematch with Jermain Taylor among them -- you never can question his competitive desire. That's why he's moving up in weight to 170 pounds to challenge light heavyweight champ Bernard Hopkins in a fight that could go either way.
Misses: We hate to harp on it, but Hopkins-Wright could be the worst style matchup between two big name fighters in a long, long time. We get sleepy just thinking about it.
Jermain Taylor
4. Jermain Taylor (26-0-1, 17 KOs)

Unified middleweight champion
Hits: When "Contender" star Sergio Mora bailed out on a May 19 fight because he didn't like the fact that it would take place in Memphis, which is close to Taylor's hometown of Little Rock, Ark., Taylor didn't blink. Instead, he got an even better, more difficult opponent in slick junior middleweight titlist Cory Spinks, whose accomplishments in boxing dwarf the light résumé of Mora.
Misses: Middleweight contenders Edison Miranda and Kelly Pavlik are going to fight on the Taylor-Spinks undercard. Taylor should have been fighting one of them instead of Spinks or Mora.
Rafael Marquez
5. Rafael Marquez (37-3, 33 KOs)

Junior featherweight champion
Hits: He knocked out Israel Vazquez on March 3 to become a legitimate two-division champion. Two weeks later, his older brother, Juan Manuel Marquez, did the same thing by outpointing Marco Antonio Barrera to win the junior lightweight championship. Such a rare achievement makes it easy for many boxing experts, including noted historian Bert Sugar, to proclaim them the best brother tandem in the sport's rich history. It's hard to argue.
Misses: Even with such a terrific résumé, loads of skill and a fan-friendly, power-punching style, Marquez never has been a big draw. He hasn't even been a regular main event fighter. We can't figure it out.
Bernard Hopkins
6. Bernard Hopkins (47-4-1, 32 KOs)

Light heavyweight champion
Hits: Although at 42, Hopkins is an old man by boxing standards, no less an expert than fitness guru Mackie Shilstone has raved that he has the body and physical abilities of a man half his age. And since Hopkins never really has been in any brutal fights, we're not as concerned with him fighting on at such an advanced age as we are about some other fighters a decade younger than him.
Misses: Hopkins' legacy is safe no matter what he does in the future. No one can take away his middleweight division-record of 20 defenses or his light heavyweight championship. But coming out of retirement at age 42 for a dangerous fight with Wright could ruin what was supposed to be a storybook ending to a wonderful career when he beat Antonio Tarver.
Juan Manuel Marquez
7. Juan Manuel Marquez (47-3-1, 35 KOs)

Junior lightweight champion
Hits: In March 2006, Marquez's career hit rock bottom. He had been stripped of his unified featherweight belts and wound up fighting for about $35,000 in Indonesia against Chris John, who had been given one of the titles taken from Marquez. John won a close decision in his home country and Marquez, who had turned down $750,000 for a rematch with Pacquiao, was left with his career in shambles. One year and three wins in a row later, including a career-defining victory for seven figures against Barrera, Marquez finally has established himself as the great fighter so many believed he was all along.
Misses: While it did take years longer than it should have for Marquez to gain the recognition he deserves, he really only has himself and manager/trainer Nacho Beristain to blame for all of their bizarre business decisions.
Joe Calzaghe
8. Joe Calzaghe (43-0, 32 KOs)

Super middleweight champion
Hits: Calzaghe's three-round blowout of Peter Manfredo Jr. on April 7, bad stoppage notwithstanding, was the 20th title defense of Calzaghe's nearly decade-long title reign and more than 35,000 fans turned out to see him, a sure sign that boxing is very much alive, at least in the United Kingdom. Calzaghe is the longest reigning active champion in boxing and, at 35, shows no signs of slowing down.
Misses: You already can tell that Calzaghe promoter Frank Warren and Mogens Palle, promoter for undefeated unified champ Mikkel Kessler, probably won't make the only fight that matters in the super middleweight division. Both sides have their views on how a deal should be structured and they do not mesh. Shame on them for not getting together and compromising. It would be good for them financially to make the fight. It would also be good for their proud champion boxers, who seem to want to fight each other, and for boxing fans around the world, who are sick and tired of excuses.
Marco Antonio Barrera
9. Marco Antonio Barrera (63-5, 42 KOs)

Junior lightweight
Hits: Even though he lost his title to Marquez in a thrilling fight, Barrera still boxed at an extremely high level and was robbed of a seventh-round knockdown when referee Jay Nady blatantly blew the call. If Barrera decides to continue his career, he still can beat most top opponents. If he decides to retire, we'll see him in Canastota, N.Y., in five years accepting his Hall of Fame induction.
Misses: One thing left us with a bad aftertaste regarding his battle with Marquez: A seasoned pro such as Barrera should never have hit Marquez while he was down in the seventh round. That is a cardinal rule of boxing and Barrera blew it big time.
Shane Mosley
10. Sugar Shane Mosley (44-4, 37 KOs)

Interim welterweight titlist
Hits: Supposedly, HBO has permission to film some of the sparring action between De La Hoya and Mosley, who unselfishly agreed to serve as his business partner's chief sparring partner as he prepares to fight Mayweather on May 5. The network figures to include some of the footage during the four-part "De La Hoya/Mayweather 24/7" series previewing the big fight.
Misses: Mosley would have liked to get back to action this summer in the wake of his surprisingly easy victory against Luis Collazo in February, but there were no HBO dates available and no name opponents available. He'll have to wait until the fall.
Second 10

11. Jose Luis Castillo
12. Oscar De La Hoya
13. Ricky Hatton
14. Joel Casamayor
15. Miguel Cotto
16. Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon
17. Chris John
18. Cory Spinks
19. Antonio Margarito
20. Jorge Arce

Did any of you see the fights last night?

Pacquiao knocked the shit out of Solis.

In the undercard I was VERY impressed with Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. He knocked out his opponent in the 2nd Round. Mind you he has not beaten a major name yet, but 31-0-1 and that he is only 21 years old at 6'0" and a 71 reach cannot be ignored. I also liked his fundamentals and the way he went about in the ring. He moves around like a seasoned veteran, not a 21 yr old kid. He definitely has a great future ahead of him. had I mean can you blame him? He has had a legend to learn from all his life! (His Dad)

thanks kobe....

yea that fight on may 5th i am most def buying....

and ricky hatton is a bad ass....but i think he needs to step it up and fight some big name fighters....he had waited so long to get his shot at a title and once he got it he keeps taking the less risky fights. He is a very exciting fighter to watch but he needs to fight another big name rather then mediocore to above average fighterss.

Man I'm kind of pissed, May 5th is my prom night...

I love the Winky Wright selection, thats almost too much for me to handle. Look for a more atheletic and probably aa better prepared Old Man B-Hop kick the shit out of him all over the canvas in July, I'm just sorry that Roy Jones backed out.

Also, these aren't the pound for pound rankings I don't think... I though Samuels just got like five top notches from Ring magaizine, why wouldn't he be up there for one of the welterweight spots?

EDIT: nevermind hes a heavy...
