Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:34 AM) tehhhh
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:37 AM) it wasn't for 3 years and Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect to come out in years. Teddy Bridgewater most likely isn't Luck or RGIII
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:40 AM) I've only seen Bridgewater play once. That was against Florida, I actually watched that game.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 PM) Teddy will be a good NFL QB I think
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 12:52 PM) THE KNICKS
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:21 PM) THE. KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:43 PM) Geno was the favorite to win the Heisman this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:44 PM) He was also a Top 5 pick this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:44 PM) If he came out in 2012, he might have gotten drafted before RG3
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:56 PM) TEH KNICKS
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:25 PM) noway he would have been drafted before RGIII
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:00 PM) Tehhhh
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:12 PM) chuck norris said tebow is a great QB. i'm so conflicted becuase tebow sucks but on the other hand if chuck norris said it, it must be true lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) Geno was not the favorite to win the heisman going into the year lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) you don't watch college football, stop
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:23 PM) He might not even of been in the second tier of players
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) That's from a Jan 2012 article
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) You can google shit from 14 months ago and find a f*** ton of these
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:29 PM) http://news.yahoo.com/top-10-heisman-trophy-candidates-2012-heading-season-150300441--ncaaf.html
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:31 PM) http://newyork.sbnation.com/2012/8/17/3249284/heisman-trophy-watchlist-2012-las-vegas-betting-odds-line-matt-barkley-montee-ball-denard-robinson
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:32 PM) He was 4th according to Vegas odds in April 2012
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) 4th makes him the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) you said he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) at that point he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:56 PM) also, what a basketball game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) 4 point game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) maybe the pacers are that good
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) I said that his time last year, he was the favorite. I misspoke. He was 3rd or 4th. He certainly wasn't "not even in the 2nd tier" like you claimed
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Take your medicine Matty
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Maybe you should watch more college football instead of talking about watching college football
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:46 AM) No he wasn't 3rd or 4th
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:47 AM) He was the 4th favorite in vegas, making him no where near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:47 AM) Barkley had 3/2 odds, Geno was 9-1
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:48 AM) It's whatever

If we had stayed put, we could have had WR-Maclin and RB- McCoy (along with our DE)

That IS how you build a team...through the draft.

Not being negative, only bringing up another perspective. I just hope that Sanchez turns out to be the QB that the Gil Brandt's of the world's expect him to be....as Jet fans we ARE MORE THEN DUE...

1. Leon Washington is a better version of McCoy. If we were looking at RB....we needed bigger.

2. Maclin : was never sold on him.

I agree you build your team through the draft BUT

1. We only gave up 1 pick...a 2nd rounder

2. Teams who build through the draft......still need a franchise QB. We took our shot today at one. If we already had a franchise QB on the team.....then I am all for keeping or stockpiling picks

Let me guees, youre not happy with sanchez. grimace-32.png
I wanted to wait and sit at 17 but when the move was made, I was happy. We really didn't give up a lot. We kept our #1 pick for 2010. You'll get over it.

Obviously. He's chad 2.0 IMO and we have other holes on this team. Kellen wouldve done fine given that he actually has a o- line now and a running and COULDVE gotten new sure handed weapons if we didn't trade away our first and second round picks that where someone like maclin or britt or nicks couldve been picked. Hopefully sanchez won't take 2years to be NFL ready. Basically I think a main reason why this was done is to sell those damn psls.

You mean like getting Pat Chung, Ron Brace and Darius Butler while accumulating more picks to address all your needs? Nah, that's how you build dynasties, we're just trying to fill seats and sell some jerseys.

They have Tom Brady. That is how you build dynasties. And then when you have a franchise QB...you can afford the luxury of staying put or dropping back to stockpile.

Unfortunately, we don't have Tom Brady. FO took the shot to get a franchise QB....now the next couple of years...you will see us stock picks or staying put while Sanchez hopefully develops into a franchise QB

You only build dynasties with a franchise QB......without franchise QBs, the likes of Chungs, Braces, etc..mean sh*t

Agreed, we aren't the Pats. They have a franchise QB and can sit back and grab a bunch of players. We need a guy to be the QB of this team, the team doesn't feel that Clemens or Ratliff were the answer. They now have answered that problem with drafting a QB they fell in love with.

Now the Jets finally can focus on building the team around Sanchez, hes our future. We finally have a player at that position with a realistic shot at being something. The depth will come but first you need starters. Rome wasn't build it a day.

I was high on Maclin, so im disappointed that we coulda had him and our second rounder. I'm not sure he is Chad 2.0 but I am sure that he is Ghoulston 2.0. He won't contribute at all this year. It will be his senior year, just like Ghoulston. I think he can succeed but since Ghoulston didn't even get a full year to perform before the word bust was thrown around I can't wait for sanchez to not win the job and all the asses will say how he isn't good enough. People wanted him to go to the Jets but they won't let him succeed by placing so much pressure on him. Just like Ghoulston he will take at least three years before he contributes.

Both were seniors coming out of the draft. Dont set your expectatiopns very high dude you'll just trip and fall, and I'd rather fall a short distance than the high pedastal you are placing on sanchez. Flacco and Ryan were anomalies.

Theres no reason Flacco and Sanchez cannot be compared. Same coach, same setup. We play great D, Sanchez manages the football game, and we do just enough.

Very well put! And I think that is exactly what Rex is looking to do in 2009...This is his team and I feel that he is going to want his man to lead it. Yes even his rookie season....

Same coach??? Brian Schottenhiemer was the offensive coordinator for Rex ryan last year? I never knew that. If you think Rex will have anyhthing to do with the O then you are missed the point. Just because he says he wants to run doesnt mean Schott will call more runs.

Yes it does, at the end of the day the HC has the final say with that kind of stuff. Schotty had to play to the style that Mangini wanted last year, changing your gameplan each week to match. Ryan wants a identity, smash mouth offense. Thats what we'll do, drafting Shonn Greene shows that.

Flacco didn't play until he was a junior. So he had one extra year of college ball and it was in 1-AA. I think a year in the Pac-10 equals that so I'm not worried. I think Sanchez is in a great situation. Let Clemens start the year off and let Sanchez develop. No need to rush him out there. If he starts day one that fine, but I don't see why people are desperate for him to contribute this year. Its been 40 years since the last great Jet QB, what's one more.

Most teams grabbing franchise QB's are picking at the top of the draft, like the lions with a crappy O-Line and a crappy D.

If your a team like us with a decent O-Line and potentially top 3 D then you have to trade up to get these players.

I mean does anyone actually think Ratliff was going to start, he wasn't. Clemmens would have beat him out easily and what would we have to show for it, a QB who can beat out Brett Ratliff that couldn't beat out Chad Pennington the year before.....That doesn't excite me at all.

He has now got a first round pick pushing him all summer to excel and win the job.

Are you serious? Why would they even call Rex Ryan the HC? He overseas ALL game plans, both sides of the ball and special teams. You better believe Rex Ryan will be in Schottys face from monday to saturday if he isn't calling the game as RR wants it to be called.

Why even call him the Head coach, I think you sir, missed the point.
